    Hi Ricky,
I've never commented on anything online before, but I just needed to tell you that my wife bought me your spiral wound book for my birthday two weeks ago and I couldn't have received a better birthday gift. I'm all of 73 years young and a year ago I decided to pull out my old Yamaha flattop guitar (cira 1979) throw some new strings on it and start playing again. I never got much past learning the 7 basic chords and strumming them. Maybe it's because of my 3 year overseas tour with the USAF, but I lived in Bicester, UK and enjoyed my time there. I seem to also enjoy your style of teaching and the accent! Anyway, I've probably watched a hundred of your videos before I received the book and now going back and truly watching them and following with the book I have really gotten so much more out of the lessons. I probably will never get out of my music room and play for others, but that doesn't really matter as I'm having the time of my life. I just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work. I'm starting lesson 16 tomorrow.
    Cheers Mate!
    Arlyn

Mr Ricky is the Fretboard Visualization Shaman/ Guru of guitar 🤩 I don’t always like the different ideas but it’s awesome your always thinking of new innovative ways to see the fretboard

This is going to change my guitar playing life. I don't think I can adequately express my thankfulness for your many simple, clear instructions that have alliwed me to understand so much.
I'll be placing an order soon!

Interesting, thanks, Ricky. What some people show, and you might have in the past, is instead of playing Root-2-3 on, say, the E string, and then 5-6 on the A and then sliding to the Root on that string, you can play R-2/ (slide to) 3 on E, then 5-6 on A, then keep repeating it, do R-2/3 on D string, 5-6 on G string, R-2/3 on B then 5-6 on high e. When would you use one or the other?

FRUSTRATED… Get parts of this but not other parts.. For some of the newbies like me! there’s too much information in here and it’s too incoming fast if you know what i mean.. A shame because I can see Ricky’s great and so knowledgeable too.. The table thing i soon picked up and really enjoy playing.. I hope the book might explain at a slower pace.. Fully understand R has a lot to cram into a small time frame etc.. Perhaps a set of Ricky videos for those who can’t pick up things as quickly as more experienced guitarists can … Also in general, you see a channel on Tubeyou with its long list of videos and you know that what you need is probably there but you just can’t pick it out of the long list.. That’s NOT just on Ricky’s wonderful channel mind .. i was searching a blues style one the other day and gave up scrolling through one channels endless videos like for ten mins.. Helpful hopefully, Rant over.. Adore Ricky’s work …

Do not degunk you're a fretboard. Leave the dirty and dirty so you can explain navigating to the dusty end.
