    Correction: when you sing "do-ré-mi", those are the notes's names in the european system (Do= C, Ré= D, Mi=E etc): you should then call their correct name, like when you start playing B-C-D-E, it should be Si-Do-Ré-Mi... ;) Thanks anyway for the great content !

      @@rickysguitar Wonderfully done Ricky. I know UR doing Majors right now. Do U suppose that in the early days, they valued minors? i.e. , the alphabet begins with "A". Piano teaches "C Major" then it's counter-part "A minor". Hendrix posited "if 6 were 9" . What if C Maj was really A Major? Those old Guys drank wine- They could have forgot(I'm trying to make U laff!).

    Is it the major scale if you play it in reverse . Starting on eight and going back to one?

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the Major scale descending. If you think of the root word for scale/scala , it means “ladder”.

    7 notes in the alphabet. Where did the other 5 notes come from to make the 12th fret the octave ?

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pythagoras, the triangles dude went on a mystic journey to study with the Chaldeans, (same folks as the 3 wise men some say). They said "Here's a monochord", (1 stringed instrument). "Understand that and you'll understand the universe and nature of God". He worked out the ratios by dividing the string and came up with 12 tones. This is why we have 12 notes and therefore 12 keys. I also think this is why music is the most magical of the art forms. Pretty cool isn't it!

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eyup James! Not necessarily…it depends on your mission. If you want to play blues then it’s pentatonic scales first. However we use the framework of the Major scale to explain all other scales. Looks like I need to a video on it. 😂👍

    • @jamesbanks2492
