    This genuinely helped me so much. The L7 grid and just the whole lesson was exactly what I needed.

    It hasn't even been a year since I started guitar. Thank you for helping me grasp so much so soon. I'm not good at all, but I understand more than I would without you.

    Your a real guitar Hero! Beginners like me, get overwhelmed at how much there is to learn and not knowing where to start when it comes to being able to visualize and grasp it all to make any sense of it and we tend to get discouraged and take a long break from learning. But your gift of being able to simplify such a complex instrument and make it visually easy to follow and pick up on all the shapes and patterns and music theory and the way you chunk it all together step by step without going too fast or getting too ahead that we get lost in it all, makes a begginer like me finally get all the inspiration and hope that I need to get back to learning now that I got a guitar God like yourself who is actually able to make it all make sense and i cant stop binge watching all your lessons. I definitely purchased your book and cant wait to keep putting all this knowledge to practice until i can finally start making insane progress and having way more freedom to play in any position of the neck and hit all the key notes and understand why those notes work and be able to get really fluent at soloing in any key and create my own songs as well as being able to learn and memorize all my favorite classic songs alot faster just by knowing the keys to those songs and the scales that correspond with those keys and chord changes as well as be able to transpose my favorite songs into other keys if my vocals sound better in a different key than the original key. This level of knowledge that im gaining from your great teaching skills, is a far better deal than going to the crossroads to sell my soul lol. Im a Christian and believer in Christ and could never sell my soul, so figured i was just gonna suck at guitar and never understand it enough to get any good at it. But thank God, you came along and started making this complicated instrument alot less complicated for me. Words cant express how appreciative I am to have stumbled upon such a great guitar teacher as you. God bless you and your family. May he bring forth all the abundance, and prosperity, and protection, and miracles you all shall ever need, in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen 🙏

    The middle finger is definitely the way to go. I have struggled with barre chords forever and I think you explained it perfectly. Once I started using the scout it immediately felt natural and I got instant results. Great stuff, thanks a ton.

    What an absolutely fantastic and powerful lesson. I've played for years and have never been taught how to visualize the chord sequence (L7) , nor did I work it out for myself, doh! Your lessons and visualizations have been invaluable on my quest to grasp the mechanics/ patterns in guitar theory. Have a beer on me.....

    Nice one Ricky! Came across this concept by another TH-camr, but happy to hear you explain it as well. One thing you didn’t mention is how to approach minor keys. Would it make sense to use the relative major, but change the numbering of chords to reflect new tonic?

    Do rhythm guitar players, play above the 12 fret.? Barre Chords above 12 fret get harder to finger.

    I am struggling with the barre chords. Do I need to press the strings hardly to get the sounds perfectly?

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be tricky to get the correct pressure. Are you applying the barre first? If so watch this video. th-cam.com/video/bI2KY6DXsow/w-d-xo.html
      Here's how you figure out how hard to press:
      1: Press down harder than necessary and maintain a regular strum.
      2: Slowly release the grip pressure until the sound of the chord fails.
      3: Re-apply pressure until the chord sounds clean.
      It's a bit like using a clutch in a car and finding biting point.
      Remember the finger order is. Scout. Shape. Barre
      Let me know how you go on!

  • @ardennenwijzer2583
    @ardennenwijzer2583 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hy Ricky, I don't understand why you switch form major to minor and visa versa up the neck. Like one G string you go from G to A-min to B-min. Why not from G to A to be or... I think this is a realy stupid question.
