    I am crying for happy right now. After watching four of your videos, I finally understand the guitar fretboard. I have played open (cowboy) chords for over sixty years, but never have been able to play scales or tunes with the ease I can on a piano or violin. I have understood music theory for over fifty years. But understanding a keyboard and the grand staff has not helped me understand the guitar. The circle of fifths helped me understand the violin, but it just made me feel the guitar was upside down and off kilter. YOU have finally helped me understand how to SEE scales and triads on the guitar. This, plus your videos on mnemonics and the circle of 4th (duh) really IS unlocking the guitar for me.

    Very nicely done Rick……people tend to freak over learning theory……teachers tread lightly scared to even mentioning the word…….you keep on banging the drum driving the message home……you do a great job teaching I might add…….many thanks sir !!

    Ricky, I'm getting back to guitar. I had a neck strain that prevented me from learning. Thank you for your book. I just order the spiral bound book so now I will have 2 books! Over the years I have slowly learned about guitar, but there is no teacher better than you. You are brilliant and have a knack for tying up loose ends for me. Can't say enough about you!

    Brilliant Ricky, I've been playing (badly) for 50 years. Now finally have the time and motivation to put some work into it. After stumbling on to a few on line lessons I have found you. As per the other comments you teach it so well, looking forward to increasing my ability. Yes I have ordered your book spiral bound. Thanks a million

    The reason i like this is because you wrote your book inline with a learners cognitive function - What I mean is (we dont all learn the same way) Some learners learn (remember) quicker by reading books- and some learn quicker by listening or using visual stimulas (video)- and we all learn guitar by kinesthetic (doing hands on) means and the way you sell your book ( Binder ) (Video ) encompasses it all...Not all guitar tutors would do this - basically I like the way this guy uses chunking as he cals it and these memory tricks and triggers to engage learners and make it stick...I think he is an excellent tutor - I know this because I teach - (not music) but i use simular principles to motivate - “If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.”
    ― Albert Einstein ....I just wish he could learn to say Capo without sounding like an old batman film KAAAPOW! But its a different world in Yorkshire...eh up

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s a 3rd inversion but that only applies to 7th chords. I think you might be looking for permutations which involves splitting string sets similar to how we play drop 2 and drop 3 chords. However, whichever way you want to paint it with triads the sequence is always 5R3, R35 or 35R using the 3 master patterns.

    Ricky I just bought your paperback book on amazon and it does not have this The 3 MASTER Shapes That Unlocked The Guitar For Me, The diagrams! I am disappointed. Yeah but the triad video came out after the book. But there’s still links to free diagrams in the triads video. Watch my latest video as that gets into how CAGED and triads superimpose over each other. I have a definitive method but would be a whole book/course in and of itself.

      You don’t understand this yet. PERFECT! Stay with it. You will LEARN.
      And, I assure you, this is very, very worth learning. What’s incomprehensible now WILL become clear, if you persevere.
      You’ve taken the first step in announcing you are “lost”.
      Keep trying!
