Good info, just bought one this spring and like to keep it growing. Almost lost it due planting it outside in a sunny area, now it’s potted and is recovering.

Good to hear it’s recovering! They are fantastic houseplants if you bring it inside!

Thank you so much! I have a big green one, which is over thirty-years old. I also have a Milky Way and a special Japanese variety called “Akebono”, which has yellow stripes. ❤

That’s amazing!! I just looked up the Akebono and it’s lovely, beautiful warm tones, I wish I had realized it was separate from the white variegation when I made this. Best of luck, and thanks for watching!!

I have several varieties of Aglaonema, & they are doing well. My only Aspidistra, however, has mostly browning leaves. I've had it for a year & a half. It sits below a high west window. I use a moisture meter to make sure I'm not over-watering. There is little new growth. It doesn't look good. I would discard it, but I had to send away for it & pay $30, so I'm not quite ready to give up on it.

I hear you they aren’t cheap. I’m not super familiar with moisture meter use because I dont have one, but it does check deep into the pot, right? The bottom 1/4 of pots tend to hold a bit of water, even if you have drain holes, something about physics and water molecule properties. Anyway, my next ideas would be check it carefully for spider mites as they are prone. Also any drafts or house too cold? Last idea would be too much sun if it gets any intense afternoon sun from the window. Good luck, hope he pulls through!
Oh, last last idea is too much fertilizer. They are very slow growing and don’t need much.

@@allhouseplants Thank you for responding. Yes, the post on the moisture meter is 10-12" long. The plant sits below a high window, so direct sunlight does not reach it. I just checked for spider mites, but I don't see any mites or webs. I have been fertilizing once a month, along with my other plants. So far, I am only confirming my friend's opinion that Aspidistra are ugly.😒

Hello, I really enjoy your videos, I am really getting into aglomeanas and I was wondering which were your favorite for care and maintenance?😊

I’m so glad to hear you’re finding value in my videos 🥰 Aglaonemas are the ✨BEST✨ My personal favorite varieties are Indo Princess, Moonlight Bay, Peacock, Sparkling Sarah and Chocolate, and Frosted Ghost. Maintenance is pretty much the same for all; BUT plants with more white/pink/red color need more light. That’s really about it. And Bamboo seems to need a bit more light. Varieties like Jubilee, White Tips, Silverado, Maria, Tigress, Chocolate etc that are majority a dark green will succeed in low light. I’ve never owned a Pictum Tricolor because I’ve heard they are kind of a different variety of Aglaonema and need super high humidity to survive
