  • Here's a brief rundown on a grouping of Majesty palms I bought at the local Home Depot several weeks ago. I didn't know much about these palms and found out they are not the most ideal for growing indoors.
    Thank you for watching!

I'm having the same issues with mine, definitely the most challenging plants I've tried to grow indoors. I bought three of them last year. One is totally dead, another is just barely hanging on, the other is doing a bit better but it's quite a challenge as I'm trying to keep at least one of them alive. I've grown indoor plants for quite some time and never really lost any until I bought these majesty palms.

Yeah, I'm finding them to be pretty high maintenance. A few of them have died while a couple of them in the middle of the grouping are still alive. Trying to keep them warm in the greenhouse where they get higher humidity. Hoping they will survive through the rest of the winter!

Yeah they are definitely difficult to grow indoors. They need humidity, heat and airflow. I'm going to stick one in my greenhouse this year which I believe will be able to provide all of those three things. Good luck Mike

Thanks bud! Hopefully they’ll do ok, but it will be interesting to see. They should do great in a greenhouse!

Cut off and remove dry dead foilage too. Loosen soil to create air in soil.

Owning or purchasing a good Humidifier is the Key. They like LIGHT too. Dont get water in the crown. It will rot if water gets in crown and stays there.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried using a rock tray with water to help with humidity when I had it indoors last year. It still struggled, but found it does well most of the year outdoors here. Lots of humidity during the summer! Winter can be a struggle, but the greenhouse helps.

For the life of me I can't keep them alive, every one I get dies in months

They're definitely more high maintenance than I expected, especially indoors. They need a certain level of humidity or they're toast.

@@zonehardypalms1188 yeah they just don't do well inside, no matter what I do they get root rot and die.
