My Wife’s Highlander had had the same issue but worse for a while and we used Velcro and even heavy duty duct tape. I finally ordered the part and thanks to your vid put it in with no trouble. Great vid and you got me as a subscriber!
Thanks for the video. We have a 2003 Highlander with the driver's side visor coming down all the time. Ours has the 3 buttons for the garage door opener. Might just replace the visor with one like you showed. We don't mind using the handheld opened if we can replace the visor with one that stays up. Appreciate your sharing.
Toyota certainly has a high opinion of their parts. I know the brand has a reputation for reliability, but fleecing owners for what amounts to a simple fabric-covered frame is ridiculous. I've also noticed Toyota fights tooth and nail to avoid recalls, unlike the "Big Three" who tend to do them much more regularly. Not only about quality, but pinching pennies.

Same problem with my 2016 Highlander driver side visor. It won’t stay up! Ugh!
