this list is proof that it isn't nostalgia that makes these old games good , its the fact that more games have become creatively bankrupt nowadays resulting to more people just going back to playing the best ones of yester years
Mostly agree, but nostalgia is a factor that cannot be denied when it comes to rating a game. AAA games are just exploiting their major IP (lastly seen in DA Veilguard). However, critically acclaimed game such as Bioshock, Dishonored, Doom are only relevant in their perspective year of release. It's simply not worth playing if you don't have any childhood memory or any unique moment on it. That is why indie and older game with arcade approach is strangely stay in our mind longer than our most beloved AAA.
Because everything’s corporate now and that goes for every entertainment industry nowadays, they’re more focused on pleasing investors than making something special
It is mind-blowing to understand that some of these games are more than 10 years old. Arkham Knight, and Far Cry 4 are the perfect example since the company that made those games are not glorious as they were
Mirrors edge? Had such a cool art style and the parkour movement I think started a whole renaissance in fps movement like dying light, Titanfall, brink, and even ghostrunner
Gonna add tomb raider(2013) here as well. I just went back to it yesterday and man! It's still almost as amazing as I remember it. I can say that about only a few other games.
Good list. Slightly surprised and disappointed to not see "Spec-Ops: The Line" on this list. Sometimes I feel like the whole world slept on that masterpiece.
How on earth is Crysis not on this list? I re-played it earlier in the year and OH MY GOD that game was ahead of it's time. It still looks like it could have just come out, and it came out in 2007. 2007. Absolutely mind-boggling. Also the gameplay, the suit systems and the gun customisation system feel great still, also way ahead of their time.
Half life 2 (even tho being 20yrs old) still holds up to this day Also dishonored would be a great addition to this list Also the Arkham games And so many others
The source engine physics is still one of the best. I got it free recently and still amazed. I've said it before but games now lack or just got rid of physics in general.
games like FLATOUT 2 and FALTOUT ULTIMATE CARNAGE despite being decades old games, still looks and feel fresh. recently i played GRAVEL on pc, good lord the game, while not as good as recent games, i has some breathtaking, almost ray traced moments in it.
I'll never forget the first time I played Castlevania LOS when it first came out. I was blown away of how amazing the graphics were and the attention to detail. Still looks amazing today.
The controls of BioShock have aged HORRIBLY BEYOND BELIEF. I have to change the controller settings on every single bBioShock game I've ever played. Their specific button layouts MAKE NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER. Especially when you think of the timeframe in which those games came out.
The standalone Festival of Blood expansion was a great spooky addition to the series. Maybe someday all the great exclusives will be freed from their PS3 prison.
Great video filled with certified bangers, and it's even better when you realise many of them sit untouched in your Steam library just waiting to be (re)discovered! Thanks for the recommendations, and I hope there will be a part two in the future.
I always wished that the Arkham games from the start were more stylized to look like a comic book. As they've aged, I wish that even more. Imagine the gameplay and combat but with comic-style visuals as authentic to that genre as Ni No Kuni was to Studio Ghibli.
Oh man, you should definitely add Binary Domain!!! That game is so sick and was way way ahead of its time for 2012. Also Psi-Com The Mindgate Conspiracy is still super fun. And Red Faction: Guerilla!
YES, not nearly enough people talk about Psi-Ops The Mindgate Conspiracy! It had gravity gun-like powers before Half-Life 2! Btw, HL2 should be on this list, too :)
Nice ones but a lot of missing too My picks would be too -Wolfenstein new order and 2 -Uncharted 4 2016 game and still better looking than some new games. -Cod 4 modern warfare remastered. This started all, one of the best war games and first modern shooter, and campaign was very great like a story game. (Mw3 and bo2 looks good too still on ps3) -Call of duty modern warfare 2019 still best looking cod maybe and best one made after ps3 era. -rdr2 still looking better than some new games -the last of us remastered still good looking and still have best story in gaming even it is more than 10y old. -the walkind dead -horizon zero dawn -crysis -dishonored -plague tale -tomb raider
good list. I went back to Far Cry 3 and 4 earlier this year. I am not a huge FC guy, but really had a blast with both of these games (again). Was surprised how much I replayed them....
Doom 3 is probably the most badas and underrated game of all times. I highly requment, i finished both doom 3 bfg edition and its 2 ex. pack multiple times.
Ha! I bought it for a PC that couldn’t even run it and them got a bunch of overdrafts as each fame processed individually when I was like 18. All not even be able to play it on my computer. I’ve always hated it because of that, but glad to know it wasn’t great also.
Styx is awesomeeeeee!!! More people should give it a try, it's a true gem of a game :) Btw original Dead Space still looks fresh AF, should've include that as well :P
Hey man Love this list. I still play AC black flag and sleeping dogs.I miss those days me and my brother sitting together and we played on games on my Potato PC..😊❤ Also I think you can add few more games like Ezio trilogy, Crysis trilogy, NFS Mostwanted and Carbon, Spiderman shattered dimensions, Mass effects franchise, Halo, IGI, Farcry 5 and new dawn can also be count as its been around 4-5years from they've been released.😊 And the interesting thing is we need a really good graphics card to play these with maximum settings even today.
Part of the reason I got into PC gaming this year was so I can play my favorite older titles with Modern visuals & frame rates and I’ve been loving it 🥴🫡
I played Ryse Son of Rome at a popup event for the Xbox one before it released, they gave you a chance to play it. It seemed honestly incredible the way it looked and done so well
Sleeping Dogs is a game that’s cancelled sequel is still something I find so hard to comprehend! For me this is what Cyberpunk is inspired from and not executed anywhere near as well
I LOVE Kameo elements of power. Its so good and I have so many good memories with this game in my childhood.its cartoonish style makes the game timeless.18 years ago I still play it for time to time and still looks some fantastic 🧚
Still got quite a few of these games and just recently picked up Remember Me, but there's a glaring omission from this list... Okami Even though there's an HD version, the PS2 original still looks great to this day. The Japanese oil painting graphics means that it'll never age, just like the cel-shaded Borderlands games.
AC series, Far Cry 3 and 4 and LOTR games still mesmerize me Sleeping dogs aged so well and deserved a sequel Gears of War was insane Watchdogs deserved better treatment and it should have merged with the AC stories to rake in both fans of AC and Watchdogs together
11:13 For anyone who has seen the video and this comment. I tried sleeping dogs after many years of just hearing only good things about this game and finally about 2 weeks ago i decided to actually try it... Not gonna lie, i didn't feel attached to a game and its story or gameplay for so many years...As someone told me "This is a game in which so many people didn't try it but heard good things about it". I felt what he said deeply...When i tried it i couldn't get up off the chair... I just wanted to keep playing it and finish the whole thing... Anyone who's got doubts installing this game. I totally recommend it to you.
I honestly find myself playing only older 2010-2020 games. They're just fun and still look great graphically without needing the newest & latest expensive high end GPU to run them. New games just do not have the staying power and feels like cash grab for corporate higher ups.
In my opinion the following games are also deserve to be mentioned here. Mirror's Edge:(2008) It still looks visually great even today. Still looks quiet decent. Medal of Honor Airbourne.(2007) Many aspects of the game still holds up quiet well, ragdolls, weapon ugrades, free level entry point, Beyond two souls, (2013) Still looks like a decent game. Assassin's creed Unity: (2014) Still the most detailed AC game and open world environment. Watch Dogs: (2013) Regardless of the issues at release this game overall aged very well. Homefront the revolution: I do think that many gameplay features are holding up to this day. Burnout Paradise: Still has the best car wrecking animations and an unique gameplay.
So many games to add to this list. God Of War, Splinter Cell CT & Jak & Daxter should've been on this list 100% but they were super popular. Those were from the Golden era of the PS2!! @@nickochioneantony9288 my favourite game is farcry 3 an i am 15 what are you saying

@londonisforeverblue1022 Devs are also playing it safe. Not everything needs or can be family friendly.
Because everything’s corporate now and that goes for every entertainment industry nowadays, they’re more focused on pleasing investors than making something special
It’s a shame Mad Max isn’t on this list, it’s very underrated
Mad Max never gets the love it deserves. It's one of my all-time favourites!!
You so right I love Played it
Incredibly based
this is not a video about underrated games
@@qing9367its about games that aged well which Mad Max definitely did
It is mind-blowing to understand that some of these games are more than 10 years old. Arkham Knight, and Far Cry 4 are the perfect example since the company that made those games are not glorious as they were
I playing FC 4 currently again. I don‘t how many runs i did with FC 3 & FC 4. Thanks for all this tipps.

Days Gone. The tension on the harder difficulties is palpable. Game was done so dirty. That was the start of what we are in right now. Nonsense
I totally agree
Hugely agree. I bought it on a sale and wished I’d paid full price. It was SO good to play.
I'd add Dishonored to this list too
As someone with a mark of the outsider tattoo, I agree
@@namlana9684that’s so sick
He'll yes
@@johnboy4955 Thanks bro🙃
Yeah, I played them for the first time 2 years ago. That art style ages way better than most.
Dead Space games are amazing. Recently finished DS2 and yeah, just great!
almost finishing DS2 on the deck
Great experience !
I hated the first Deadspace. Thought it is so overrated.
Ryse Son of Rome is great, super underrated!
i started choking seriously on something while i was playing that game. havent played that game since but i really should (while not eating)
I love that you mentioned Prince of Persia here. Loved everything about that game. Shame I have no way of playing it today.
pirate :) its a ubisoft title who cares
No pc?
Great selection. Another game that feels timeless is Mirror's Edge. Cheers! //Rick
i've tried the original and feels a bit outdated. maybe catalyst ?
Good list. Slightly surprised and disappointed to not see "Spec-Ops: The Line" on this list. Sometimes I feel like the whole world slept on that masterpiece.
I've already featured that game in my previous videos. And yes, I also think that game aged well especially when we talk about its story and world.
maybe it goes without saying but Gta V being 11 years old is pretty crazy
GTA San Andreas is still the best GTA EASILY with Vice being a close second.
Sunset Overdrive. I’ve beaten it three times now and adore it more every run.
The way he pronounced infamous reminded me of the three amigos lol
In-famous is when you're MORE than famous.
LOL- I was thinking the same thing.

Three things that make older games "look" that good even today:
- Great Art Style
- Awesome Animations / Physics
- Attention to Detail
What I also like in old games are elaborately produced videos. I think the C&C series is a good example of this.
Love me some In-Famous . Great series. Bleep Blorp
Almost had me fooled that it wasn’t A.I. 😂
Wolfenstein the new order and Wolfenstein II are also still great.
Apart from the garbage game engine
Man, I love RE1 remake. I love the tank controls. That game is absolutely perfect.
games like FLATOUT 2 and FALTOUT ULTIMATE CARNAGE despite being decades old games, still looks and feel fresh.
recently i played GRAVEL on pc, good lord the game, while not as good as recent games, i has some breathtaking, almost ray traced moments in it.
Such a cool list man, cheers!
Jet Set Radio is a Dreamcast classic! Also, Mirror's Edge is an ageless title
Good picks. Another good video. 🎉
Great list. I've heard of some of these games, but I didn't think much of them until now. Definitely worth a playthrough.
To me Devil May Cry, Metal Gear, classic God of Wars and Evil Within 2 are also in this list. Great job!
Remember me is so underrated
I really like the atmosphere of Doom 3. It was the first time I played a Doom game back in the day and I loved it.
It's criminal how sunset overdrive isn't mentioned here
THe dialog in that game is so so so bad, it makes it really hard to enjoy. lol
