Punisher is abandonware, most likely why they are "forgotten". I actually got both Condemned and Sleeping Dogs very cheap on steam maybe 2-3 months ago, they were both like $2-3. Btw, what's the story with Manhunt on Steam? I see it has dreadful reviews? I had that on hard copy back in the day.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Bugle, bad reviews on Manhunt because it won't run properly on modern hardware. And even with the community patches, it can be tricky to make sure it runs properly. Took quite a while until I figured out mine. And it doesn't seem to be the same solution. Has some quirk to it that's just annoying. And Rockstar never bothered to have it updated.
@@PsychoRavager Oh I see. Then I guess it's better to just grab PS2 emulation. Some of those companies just released games on Steam and didn't do fixes for modern PC, but they are more then willing to charge full price 10 years after.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Buglerockstar just ported the ps2 version to pc and then that version to steam without disabling the anti piracy triggers so the game was literally unplayable on steam they then decided to fix it by just downloading a pirated version of their own game that had the anti piracy triggers disabled by the crackers its just a whole shit show and a really interesting story
I know you said 007: Blood Stone was the first original bond game not based on a film, but I remember playing 007: Agent Under Fire on GameCube, 007: Nightfire on GameCube, and 007: Everything or Nothing on OG Xbox and I don't think that any of these were based on films either. All were great games.
Everything or Nothing is still the best Bond game bar none. That game hits all the right chords. Such a beautiful and expansive title. That was back when licenced properties were really something and EA wasn't completely evil. But I loved 007 Blood Stone so much I bought it on DVD for PC along with the Wheelman -- that's another underrated gem from Vin Diesel.
Thief 4 was a disaster but interestingly enough it's the game that got me into the franchise. I first bought it back on launch day for the PS3. I didn't like the game but i pretended to out of denial (i mean i just blew half a year's pocket money buying it). Afterwards i got into playing the originals and Thief 2 Metal Age turned out to truly be a masterpiece. Thief Deadly Shadows too was an amazing game. What caused Thief 4 to tank were the questionable design choices, heavy consolization of the level design, the gameplay itself which doesn't even hold a candle to the originals, the awful story, and the changing of Garrett's voice actor. It's fucked up how they treated Stephen Russell, Arkane literally treated Stephen Russell with a lot more respect than how the Thief 4 team did. Even had him voice Corvo in Dishonored 2 which was an excellent touch and a big middle finger to the Thief 4 team
Mad Max is an incredible game kneecapped by releasing on literally the same day as Metal Gear Solid V. I think the devs straight up said the publisher pressed them into it too
@@ChadKenovain fact it did so bad that it basically killed Microsoft’s relationship with the company. I think it was one of the best games ever made for the Xbox one in my opinion.
Evolve was boring. The infinite amount of running around the map and tryna catch the monster was annoying aaand boring. If monster player is a bit skilled it was impossible to catch it so it easily evolves into stage 3, comes back and fuks every hunter in the ass. They did a lot of nerfing and buffing but in the end the foundation was broken and in game purchases was a disaster too just watch the crowbcat's video on it if you want to have an idea how bad it was when it was at its launch But the game looks amazing the feel, graphics and gunplay was really good and idea wasn't that bad. Just the gameplay loop was boring
Syndicate aka "lighting bloom shooter", seriously the bloom in that game is fuckin' ludicrous, there are some sections of the game where looking at certain surfaces will burn your fuckin' eyes out hahaha
Medal of Honor. Really liked those games back on PS2 era, thought they were challenging specially on the later missions. European Assault is the one I played the most
I got some old forgotten games for you, they had some decent advertising for their time but are now forgotten by a lot of you: -The Kane and Lynch games -Inversion -Londen Hellgate -Spec ops the Line -Prototype -Brothers in Arms -Dungeon Keeper -Duke Nukem Forever -Orion Prelude -Risen -Spore -Tropico -Overlord
@@DerBaum91 Not really, The ''Civilization'' series is one people remember but Tropico not so much. Tropico last release was 5 years ago (almost 6 by now).
Dungeon Keeper is an absolute classic only two main games in series. Same with Overlord which has the same vibe but Pikmin-like gameplay. Highly recommend!
@@KasumiRINA Overlord stuck with me due to the weird gameplay. Pointing directions, retreating and attacking in combination with the right minions was all you had to do. Again, it had some decent advertising, but I don't see the sort of gameplay often anymore.
Yeah it was such a clever idea for a game I loved how you could pass through walls and eavesdrop on people’s conversations without them even knowing you were there, I also remember you could possess things in the world my favourite being a black cat
007 Blood Stone for me is a pretty solid game. The gameplay was diverse and satisfying, there were shootouts, sneaking, recon, all the spy stuff that we see in the movies. Of course it was heavily scripted, but it was a game based on the movie, so I was very much into it, it gave me the movie experience that I was looking for, made me felt like a 007. I'm glad, that my dad bought it, it was a great game
I never forgot about Quantum of Solice. My friends and I used to dominate in the multiplayer. We had a blast. Also the game had a bunch of Netflix and Orbit gum ads so that game is forever seared into my memory from that alone lol
@@arostwocentswell daxter is good really didn’t like j & d the lost frontier too much slip flying for me i much prefer the platforming gameplay while I loved all the other jak and daxter games especially jak 2
Some of my Forgotten Gems would be... Jet Force Gemini, Tenchu Z, Gun, Lost Odyssey, Shadow of Rome, Chromehounds, Final Fantasy Explorers, 007 Nightfire and 007 Agent Under Fire, and Illusion of Gaia. These are just some games I thought didn't really get much exposure but seemed to be great regardless. Some of them are games I specifically really want to be reborn in some way. Jet Force Gemini was a Rare classic for the N64. I really liked how it had the 3 character system, and you'd land in different parts of the planet on each character, and sometimes it had crossover but you'd have different access based on the character traits. Vela could swim, Juno could tank Lava, and Lupus could hover. Was cool getting the tribals and collecting bug heads, the minigames, the music, fish food... The controls are dated, but I think it could be a good one to revisit. SS Anubis and Water Ruin tracks are so good... (Still wish I could see the timeline where Nintendo bought Rare instead of Microsoft, and continued making bangers...) Tenchu Z was the first Tenchu game I played a lot. I think I played a few levels on a PS1 Tenchu, not enough to count. I wish we had more Ninja Stealth Action games. I know there's an indie game Aragami that made a game like that, but not many others since Tenchu Z in 2006. I only recently learned it was made by Fromsoft too. It was pretty mediocre, but I would love to see a well polished entry to the series. Yeah, we got Sekiro and that scratched some of the itch, but wasn't very "Ninja stealth" of a game. At least this year we have some interesting Ninja games in development. Hyped for Phantom Blade Zero. Gun was a fun western game similar to Red Dead Revolver, made by Neversoft/Activision on 360. I do not remember a ton from this game, but it was pretty enjoyable. I haven't gotten around to Red Dead Redemption 1 or 2, but I feel like it would have been the middleground between Red Dead Revolver, and Redemption. Lost Odyssey was a Turn Based RPG made by some of the FF Devs, namely Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu on music. I believe Mistwalker said they wouldn't do a remaster or anything, so that's a shame. This 360 game had a great story, gameplay, and music. Still missing one of the 99 seeds on my original save... It had a really cool skill mastering system between the "immortal" characters. Shadow of Rome was a Capcom hidden gem on PS2. Game was 60% gory Coliseum slaughterfest as Agrippa, 30% stealth sections as Octavianus, and 10% Chariot Racing. You could cut off a limb or a head and use it as a weapon, and you'd get "salvos" for it, giving you bonus points. Was absolute chaos and so fun. It had a very arcade-y feel to it with all the salvos popping up on your screen, you could taunt/cheer to the crowd and get bonus points, etc. Really want to have this game get a second chance one day, but unlikely. It was a little clunky, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Chromehounds was a Multiplayer Mech game from Sega. I had little interest in it until playing it at a friend's house, and I recall playing it quite a bit. It was fun to customize your mechs with sniper cannons or closer range stuff, use a quadrupedal set of legs or use a tank track. Seemed to be competitive with Armored Core, but a slower pace. AC has kinda done a lot of the same things. Final Fantasy Explorers was Square's idea of "Lets make Monster Hunter but FF". I actually enjoyed it, despite getting mediocre reception. I'm a little bias with the Jobs and mastering skills (FF Tactics Advance made me enjoy that system a lot...). It was cool to go fight Summon monsters and stuff as classic FF jobs. I think it was just majorly eclipsed out by MH4 on the 3DS, but I feel if they tried again on a non-handheld, it might do much better. It came out pretty late in the 3DS lifetime too. The two 007 games of the GC Era, Agent Under Fire, and Nightfire, were so good. I remember playing hours and hours of splitscreen with the boys. Rarely ever hear of anyone who played them but I really liked these games. I remember one had a grapple hook thing that made the game so goofy to play MP. Illusion of Gaia was an Enix game on the SNES. Also don't hear many people talk about this one, but I remember it fondly. Action RPG, had some metroidvania kind of things to it imo. Was cool that it had 3 playable characters you'd swap to for various things, interesting story, good music. Could probably name a few others if I thought about it, but those are what comes to mind. Other games I remember fondly, aren't very hidden or forgotten imo, so I didn't include them. I could list a bunch of games that are good but aren't crazy popular, but I tried to go after older games that really stuck out for me that I feel like most people haven't played. Like if I imagined asking an average gamer, they would likely have responded "No, never heard of it" lol. Edit: Also echo sentiment below for XIII, that game was so good on xbox when it came out. Haven't finished the remake, but it's not the same... Timesplitters is an honorable mention, but they just got rereleased so I left them off the list. I'll add more if I think of em/see them in other comments that I remembered also. Edit2: Also the oldschool Medal of Honor games were pretty good. I forgot to mention Shadowrun for X360. A really cool MP only shooter that Fasa Studios went bankrupt after making. Had really cool concepts for a shooter, played it a ton. Kinda felt like Counterstrike with magic. Didn't really pop off, but it was great. I see mentions of The Nightmare Before Christmas game, and Brink, two more games I completely forgot about, but were also quite mediocre. Another one I forgot about but didn't fully play was "Black", I remember it was this FPS that had graphics quite ahead of it's time, but played kinda poorly. Another mention from someone else is Brink, similar fate as Shadowrun, was still a pretty fun MP Shooter back in the day. Couple more that never got sequels, Crimson Skies, one of the OG Xbox Live titles, and Condemned, one of the OG Xbox 360 titles (it did get a sequel, but nothing after) Edit3: Oh my god I completely forgot about the Lord of the Rings games for the PS2 era. I remember Legolas was crazy OP with these purple elven arrows. I remember renting all of those and having so much fun. I also bought the Game Boy Advance title for one of them and it literally played like a Diablo knockoff but was so fun. I think it was the Two Towers or Return of the King.
Yes!! 007 Agent Under Fire was awesome! My brother and I also played countless hours of splitscreen, and that that grapple hook was my FAVORITE gadget. Hours of us grappling around the different maps, just trying to land a shot on the other. Great memories! Also, as a young lad, those two Asian ladies were quite memorable, haha
I actually really enjoyed Murdered: Soul Suspect. The narrative was really interesting and I had a good time from beginning to end. The only gripe I had was that in order to get all the collectables I missed, I would need to start the whole game over instead of being able to freely go around and find them. Small gripe though
Brink was pretty fun. I remember getting a bunch of the achievements on 360 before it just stopped. Another shooter that died off similarly was Shadowrun for X360. Gun was sick.
From what I remember Evolve failed because every single match became a hide and seek tournament where the monster would actively hide from the players and demolish them once they reach their final stage of evolution, I guess. Veteran human players who knew the map by heart could dominate the monster is record time, taking out the fun for everyone involved.
Endwar. One of the few instances of mechanical innovation that was truly never seen before that really changed the way you played from other games. The voice command system was surprisingly smooth and accurate, and I would have loved to see further development of the technology. Sadly, it went the same way as the PS4s touch pad.
Darkest of Days is so awesome, General Custer having his last stand on top the hill blasting away Indians with duel revolvers goes so hard. Loved the music too.
I love Thi4f despite it being quite different than my favourite Thief which is Deadly Shadows. They changed the style from some kind of medieval to steampunk or whatever that is but the atmosphere was still great, the asylum level was pretty creepy and the story was quite engaging. There were some changes I didn't like but it was a reboot so I don't blame them as it was expected.
“The Outfit” it was a 3rd person shooter rts game in World War Two. You’d call in soldiers, machine gun nests, vehicles, and of course air support. Great coop fun and an early days Xbox 360 gem! I also have to bring attention whenever I can to the “Brothers in Arms” series that was a band of brothers story with shooter and squad commander gameplay.
"This one's for Deuce!" I got totally lost in the RTS elements of The Outfit and would spend a ludicrous amount of time in one level just building up armies and defenses, awesome characters too. Also a huge BiA fan and I wish to see Baker's story continue.
I remember being fairly hyped for Murder Soul suspect. Also Drakenguard 3, one of the most underrated JRPG's and its technically a prequel to Nier Automata. Unit 13 was also great too!
Btw, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was tragically the last voice performance of John Cygan. Most probably know him just for Solidus, but he REALLY gets lost in the role of Silas. As for other forgotten games? Plenty recommended here already, except for Freedom Fighters, Oni, Rayman 2: The Great Eacape, and also this one Polish shooter that I'm not sure if it was even translated; Kurka Wodna
Seems strange to me that we've not had a new 007 game for over A Decade. A few years ago there was some talk of the Makers of Hitman doing one, but thats all gone quiet now.
Furi is criminally forgotten and underated. A game that has litteraly everything going for it, tight and responsive gameplay, memorable bossfights, really good voice acting and writing and sweet jesus there isn't a single word in the 7000 languages that exists that can describe how good the soundtrack is. It had everything yet nobody played it for some reason
Ryse: Son of Rome. Touted as a huge killer app for the XBOX One. Turned out to be a big nothing. Also, Crush the Castle, the flash game. And Sacred Seasons, if you've played it. And Panfu.
My favorite bit in Soul Suspect is when you go out into the woods you can find some Ghost Hunters filming a TV show and the local ghosts are fucking with them while the TV show hosts pretend to "Sense" paranormal activity. Good game! It got eviscerated by gamers and critics at the time from what I remember but it had a solid foundation. Kind of weird how everyone in Salem drove the Same Ford Crown Victoria tho lol
.Matt hazard .Eat them .Mini ninjas .Cell factor psychokinetich wars (or something like that) .condemned .siren blood rain (or something like that) .how to survive .dead nation . prototype 1 and 2 By the way I believe they are awesome games
The Culling 2 was the original Concord, dropping and then closing down within a few days with the devs going back to work on game 1. Also the pay per match-scheme was for game 1, and was added as a last ditch effort to save the studio and bring in more revenue, after the game had been available to play normally for months, obviously it did not save the game or studio
I'm gonna go with Legendary. You play as a thief tricked into opening Pandora's box only for the box to stab your hand marking you and imbuing you with it's power. The box then releases a beam into the sky and mythological creatures begin pouring into reality. The game itself was very buggy, pc requires a lot of messing with ini files but fighting werewolves and minotaur's while managing your health through the power to drain the energy from their corpses was really fun and the premise alone deserves to be done justice.
Great video! Popular games get lots of screentime, but it's really cool to remember these less-known games. I enjoyed Quantum of Solace enough to 100% the achievements, and I loved The Saboteur for its aesthetic and soundtrack.
Call of juarez is SUCH a gem. Ive replayed it quite a bit. Its fun characters. Being able to focus on what weapons you like. Cool details like shooting through doors hitting enemies through them
Heh you think i forgot about vanquish? 😏 Also imma activate some of yall gamer sleeper activation codes: inFAMOUS, Prototype, Sunset Overdrive, Gravity Rush, magicka, mini ninjas, Sleeping dogs, Midnight Fight Express, The Darkness 1-2
Deus Ex series in general deserves a second chance and a better writer. i still love the original, Human Revolution and Mankind divide (even with the flaws)
The first Blacklight game was really fun, I wish I could still play it even if it was just offline with bots. Retribution wasn't as fun for me, didn't feel the same, didn't play very much of it.
I remember Thief and Murdered Soul Suspect came out pretty early in the PS4 era when there was nothing else to play on it. Thief was the first PS4 game I bought just because I wanted something to play on the new system. It's an alright game but as I recall, it was a reboot and all the OG Thief fans moaned and complained about it so it's no wonder it's forgotten about now. Now Murdered Soul Suspect was a good game. I remember it being pretty short and not a whole lot of gameplay but the idea felt unique and if it had the opportunity to be expanded upon further, it had the potential to be a great series. 2 games that came out in the dead wasteland that was the early PS4 life cycle.
I Loved Murdered: Soul Suspect and recently got into The Darkness games which is pretty forgotten also Castlevania: Lord of Shadows too Those games were so unique and I wish people still talked about them.
Peter Jackson's King Kong, any Rayman game, Splatterhouse, the Legend of Spyro, Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, the House of the dead, Dark messiah of might and magic
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and The Prototype series - haven't heard of them in years, must replay some day, they've made me some fond memories and are holding a special place in my heart
I used to play Future Cops L.A.P.D. with my little brother co-op back in the day. Like 20 years ago. Got reminded of it recently and really, really wanna relieve that. I remember you play like transformer cars you can turn into walking robos, it even changed your view, from topdown to third person, and it kinda had like base defending or something.
Murdered soul suspect is one of the most interesting, unique games I’ve ever played will have to play through it fully soon - always thought it was really cool how you could eavesdrop on people’s conversations without them knowing you are there and travel through walls
I grew up during the late 2000’s up to the mid-2010's, which were my childhood gaming golden days (and as an adult today, I still play in my free time, but not as much time as I had before). Aside from the games that were released in my childhood, I also played a lot of late 90's and early 2000's games. I also remember having a list that I kept updating up until 2019-ish. Have you heard of Galapagos: Mendel's Escape? Galapagos is a beautiful, fascinating and frustrating 1997 game for Windows and Mac in which you must guide an AI creature named Mendel through perilous sci-fi environments. You have no direct control over Mendel, and instead manipulate its environment to draw it forward and solve puzzles. Mendel's behaviour is managed by complex algorithms, and you could view Galapagos as a distant ancestor of The Last Guardian.
F.E.A.R. (2005, Monolith Productions) was a game ahead of it's time. Supernatural horror FPS with a clear influence from J-horror. Also, sports a quite good ragdoll physics, plus bullet-time effects. The Suffering (2004, Surreal Software). Supernatural, body-horror shooter with an interesting plot and setting. Spec Ops: The Line (2012, Yager Development). A good game that has been delisted from Steam in January, this year🪦
I just played F.E.A.R. and Spec Ops for the first time last year.. man what wild rides they were, bot of 'em! Tho it seems i can still play Spec Ops on Steam, im kicking myself for not getting the game on GOG instead
Sorry for the double comment, but Shinobido is my pick. That game was wild, so many intricate and strange systems all crammed into a Tenchu-esq ninja game. It somehow had tower defence, map editors, strange item-reliant gameplay, etc.
i Remember being very impressed by Way of The Samurai on PS2, it was my make believe samurai fantasy come true hehehe, also Raw Danger (i think is one of the disaster report games localized to America) that was a very original experience for the time
Mad Max was awesome. It was buried by the "bad games based on movies" thing, but I'm sure if they made a game like that, with more polished mechanics and features, it'd go down as one of the best games around.
The fact I know all these games and played almost all of them means I had a pretty good time growing up my Xbox360. On the Call of Juarez franchise though I highly preferred the one with the two brothers as main characters
Saboteur was such a fun game. My personal favourite childhood game is alundra. A game that barely has any TH-cam reviews and i have yet to encounter anyone irl who knows it.
Quantum of Solace was good. I like that style of Third and First person shooting Rainbow Six vegas did it as well. Bloodstone was awesome as well. I like the ps2 era the best but Craigs were good. Here is hoping IO Bond game is really good.
Shadowrun, an Arena FPS from early on in the 360's life. It used the setting from the tabletop RPG of the same time, so anyone familiar with the license was turned off by it being a PvP only shooter, while anyone unfamiliar with it was left with the weird mix of D&D and Cyberpunk, without any real explanation for what was going on. And, yes, this is the same Shadowrun as the Shadowrun Returns RPGs from a few years later. Kinda surprised Wolfenstein 2009 didn't make the list. It's another case of Activision delisting a game, but also one of Raven's last outings before they were eaten by the CoD support studios. It's still unique, in the sense that it's more of a Wolfenstein themed Metroidvania. The Lara Croft twin-stick shooters. (...and the Guardian of Light, ...and The Temple of Osiris.) Hard Reset. Who remembers Flying Wild Hog's first game? Agents of Mayhem. This will probably go down as the last hurrah for Volition before the Saints Row Reboot. It wasn't flawless, but had some neat ideas... and then got deep sixed. Aliens Vs. Predator 2. Not so much forgotten per se, but certainly an, "if you know, you know." That AvP2 is basically impossible to obtain today is truly sad. A bit more recent, but Deathloop. After Redfall, it's easy to write it off, but as the final (easter-egg) part of Dishonored, and as a pretty competent little mini-ImSim sandbox, it's sad how quickly this one's getting forgotten. It's not the best game ever, but it was creative, and deserved better. Far Cry: Blood Dragon. Obviously, no one's forgotten the Far Cry series as a whole, but this homage to 80s pop culture has become another, "if you know, you know," title that's otherwise depressingly obscure. Mad Max. It was panned by the critics back in 2015, and if you try to mainline the game in as few sittings as possible it can become monotonous. But, if you slow down a little, it quickly becomes a really striking post-apocalyptic world that blends desolate beauty with brutality. It's an excellent encapsulation of the films, even as large chunks are the by-the-numbers recycled content that irritated reviewers. It's not that old (it released last year), but Robocop Rogue City is one that I feel is going to get quickly forgotten. It's a budget title, without much of a marketing push. But, from Peter Weller reprising his roll, to the writing and the gore, it's an amazing adaptation of the films. (The same developer also released Terminator: Resistance, which is another licensed game that far better than it deserves to be.)
Just for context, regarding Evolve, you forgot to mention that most of the hype for this game died due to the extensive monetisation options that were revealed just prior to its release. Before then, some people were skeptical due to the online nature of the game, but there was also some serious support from others and the media. The notification of the planned pricing, however, was a millstone around its neck and effectively killed all interest in it. The hype was gone and the gameplay proved highly repetitive. It seriously became the poster boy at the time for unrealistic developer expectations in a brand new franchise. Turtle Rock ended up being purchased by Tencent in 2021, the same year it released Back 4 Blood, a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. The game had a lot of hype built up and initially sold well. However, it released to positive critical reception, but generally mixed public attention. It even led to more than a few video essays on TH-cam arguing that it proved that the success of Left 4 Dead was purely down to Valve’s guidance. It released in October 2021 and, from what little I can see, didn’t last much beyond 2022. Still on Steam starting at 49.99 - though it has been on sale a few times around £10 and the user reviews recommended it at that price point. The marketing campaign comparing it to Left 4 Dead seems to have been a mistake and other less positive user reviews claim that it is slow to level up, unlock cards, and can feel very grindy. Some also feel that Turtle Rock have abandoned it. A classic franchise, much missed, is No One Lives Forever. On the console, I’d say Timesplitters.
That really good game that I played was condemned criminal origins. Not really talked about too much, almost forgotten, but it was an interesting survival game.
with Murdered Soul Suspect I remember liking the game when it came out and thinking that I'll buy it when I get a better PC cuz my specs couldn't run it, watched a playthrough from theradbrad and now it's a memory I didn't know I had until you brought up the game
Gunslinger is amazing!!!! It’s aged so well, still boot it up from time to time. Vanquish is another game that has as well and I am currently playing through it also, sooooooo good! Bulletstorm is an amazing somewhat lesser known title that is well worth a play today!
People already forgot about Concord and it only shut down 2 weeks ago💀
Literally dying on arrival
What game is that? Lol. I know what it is.
Judging from the amount of money they sank into it, I don't believe execs at Sony will ever forget that game... at least I hope they don't.
@@TheEMangzthey will write it off, and still hunt the live service holy grail

Prototype and Gravity Rush are some of my personal favorites that are decently forgotten
Yeah well they don't run anymore since....Windows 10 I think?
@@Baustakar Prototype runs finely on Win10 last time I played it.
@@Baustakar they're on Xbox

Love them both easily
Sleeping dogs is a great game but doesnt get brought up enough
i wish it had mods, especially first person mod. The game's world is one of the best designed open worlds.
Sleeping Dogs is one of my favorite games. I need a successor.
Always wanted to play that never got too
Sleeping dogs is underrated for sure
I think it would be more succesfull if it hadn't been banned in some countries like in mine (Germany)
When Murdered: Soul Suspect is on sale, it’s like $3.
And those $3 are well worth it for the game.
I have it on 360 and never played it haha
Yeah i got it years ago but got bored
Scared me, but I really liked the story and gameplay. It deserved a lot more love for sure
I stopped playing that game because to my memory the timing on the quick time event to exorcise the bad ghosts was way too small to get.
No one lives forever, Mag, black, mission impossible. So many good games were made. Broken sword series
I remember being able to play the Black demo disc back in the day because my dad was subscribed to a gaming magazine.
No one lives forever...oh, god...
Mag was the shit
Punisher, Ghost Rider, The Darkness games, Condemned, Manhunt, Sleeping Dogs.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Buglerockstar just ported the ps2 version to pc and then that version to steam without disabling the anti piracy triggers so the game was literally unplayable on steam
they then decided to fix it by just downloading a pirated version of their own game that had the anti piracy triggers disabled by the crackers
its just a whole shit show and a really interesting story
Weird cause I remember all of those
I know you said 007: Blood Stone was the first original bond game not based on a film, but I remember playing 007: Agent Under Fire on GameCube, 007: Nightfire on GameCube, and 007: Everything or Nothing on OG Xbox and I don't think that any of these were based on films either. All were great games.
Agent Under Fire and Nightfire have special places in my childhood.
@@Banananaki Same.
And GoldenEye rogue agent
Everything or Nothing is still the best Bond game bar none. That game hits all the right chords. Such a beautiful and expansive title. That was back when licenced properties were really something and EA wasn't completely evil. But I loved 007 Blood Stone so much I bought it on DVD for PC along with the Wheelman -- that's another underrated gem from Vin Diesel.
This. That damn co op was so fun
Even had him voice Corvo in Dishonored 2 which was an excellent touch and a big middle finger to the Thief 4 team
those james bond games were fire, I played tf out of them, the multiplayer too
I played the Wii remake of goldeneye a ton
The servers are back on for PS3
I got a game for you “Mad Max” fun as hell game and I wish we could have had a sequel to that gem
It and Alien: Isolation are the 2 best movie inspired games I can think of.

@@ChadKenovain fact it did so bad that it basically killed Microsoft’s relationship with the company. I think it was one of the best games ever made for the Xbox one in my opinion.
Evolve was so much fun. That game would have been way more successful if had a campaign mode at its core.
I don't think it ever would have been. Probably would have lasted a little longer
Evolve was boring. The infinite amount of running around the map and tryna catch the monster was annoying aaand boring. If monster player is a bit skilled it was impossible to catch it so it easily evolves into stage 3, comes back and fuks every hunter in the ass.
They did a lot of nerfing and buffing but in the end the foundation was broken and in game purchases was a disaster too just watch the crowbcat's video on it if you want to have an idea how bad it was when it was at its launch
But the game looks amazing the feel, graphics and gunplay was really good and idea wasn't that bad. Just the gameplay loop was boring
prey (2017), syndicate (2012) ,dark and darker
Someone finally mentioned syndicate. I loved that game in the ps3.
Remember Syndicate mostly for how much Jeff Gerstmann from giant bomb loved it.
Syndicate aka "lighting bloom shooter", seriously the bloom in that game is fuckin' ludicrous, there are some sections of the game where looking at certain surfaces will burn your fuckin' eyes out hahaha
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 Syndicate was a franchise and the FPS was it's failed revival :(
@MadsterV I know 🙂
Binary Domain, Condemned 2 (most people remember the first game and FEAR much more), Lost Planet, Warhawk/Starhawk, Soul Sacrifice
Binary Domain was great. Enjoyed that one
Now would be reboot as Non-Binary Domain
Binary Domain is criminally underrecognized. Brilliant game.
Condemned 2 was sadly never released for PC. Only the XBox 360 got it. But imo the First one is much better.
Medal of Honor. Really liked those games back on PS2 era, thought they were challenging specially on the later missions. European Assault is the one I played the most
Murdered: soul suspect goes on sale almost every week for 2 dollars, a really good game that’s definitely worth a play through
Yeah I agree it is such a clever idea for a game I played it on ps3 years ago I think I only got to the Salem with trials area
Call of Jaruez was a hell of a series, gunslinger was awesome. It just needed to be longer.
Turok 2008 was good in my opinion. Cool knife finishers, bow, weapons in both hands.
I got some old forgotten games for you, they had some decent advertising for their time but are now forgotten by a lot of you:
-The Kane and Lynch games
-Inversion
-Londen Hellgate
-Spec ops the Line
-Prototype
-Brothers in Arms
-Dungeon Keeper
-Duke Nukem Forever
-Orion Prelude
-Risen
-Spore
-Tropico
-Overlord
Doesn't Tropico get a new game every few years? :D
@@DerBaum91 Not really, The ''Civilization'' series is one people remember but Tropico not so much. Tropico last release was 5 years ago (almost 6 by now).
Brothers in arms will be sorely missed. We couldn't even get a proper ending to Baker's story
Man, Murdered: Soul Suspect was a gem.
Yeah it was such a clever idea for a game I loved how you could pass through walls and eavesdrop on people’s conversations without them even knowing you were there, I also remember you could possess things in the world my favourite being a black cat
Loved playing ‘Lord of the Rings, War in the North’
Which you can only buy keys from GameStop for near original price

Miss the old 2000s games, there was stories, nice gameplay, passionate devs & more.
Now, Barely any of this.
(Still wish I could see the timeline where Nintendo bought Rare instead of Microsoft, and continued making bangers...)
Tenchu Z was the first Tenchu game I played a lot.
Couple more that never got sequels, Crimson Skies, one of the OG Xbox Live titles, and Condemned, one of the OG Xbox 360 titles (it did get a sequel, but nothing after)
Edit3: Oh my god I completely forgot about the Lord of the Rings games for the PS2 era.
Good times!
You get a like for completing your essay homework and going for extra credit.
Chromehounds was a great game. It was interesting finding out years later that it was developed by FromSoftware.
@@thaiviper5392 Oh damn, TIL. I didn't know that one was Fromsoft also, I knew AC was. That explains the similarities.
I actually really enjoyed Murdered: Soul Suspect. The narrative was really interesting and I had a good time from beginning to end. The only gripe I had was that in order to get all the collectables I missed, I would need to start the whole game over instead of being able to freely go around and find them. Small gripe though
Brink, Remember Me,, Gun, Brothers In Arms, Bulletstorm, Wet, the Killzone and Rewistence series, and MAG.
Brink was pretty fun. I remember getting a bunch of the achievements on 360 before it just stopped. Another shooter that died off similarly was Shadowrun for X360. Gun was sick.
Yeah remember me was a really cool idea and executed pretty good loved the future setting
I had this as a bonus that came with RSV2 and was hooked. Not my typical style of play but it didn't matter at all
Darkest of Days. A time traveling historical FPS. Definitely recommend it.
Yeah I also liked Thief 4. Played it multiple times
Fellow Freedom Fighters enjoyer.

And my favorite arcade racing game, Split Second. Super fun game that has split screen.
I go back and play Bulletstorm and The Darkness II every time I remember they exist
Ryse: Son of Rome. Touted as a huge killer app for the XBOX One. Turned out to be a big nothing. Also, Crush the Castle, the flash game. And Sacred Seasons, if you've played it. And Panfu.

007 Nightfire was goated. The Conflict series was also badass, Conflict: Vietnam in particular.

My favorite bit in Soul Suspect is when you go out into the woods you can find some Ghost Hunters filming a TV show and the local ghosts are fucking with them while the TV show hosts pretend to "Sense" paranormal activity.

Personally, for me, it is Ensavled Odyssey to the west. It has a weird ending, but it's a really fun game.
Yeah I’ve heard of the weird ending i enjoyed the demo but always thought it was weird how you couldn’t really die when doing the platforming sections

The best thing about this old games are, having a physical copy. I play them whenever I wanted.😊
I absolutely loved the Quantum of Solace game, i was so hooked on the MP. The golden gun mode was crazy, wish i could play it again.
I Loved Murdered: Soul Suspect and recently got into The Darkness games which is pretty forgotten also Castlevania: Lord of Shadows too

Murdered soul suspect is one of the most interesting, unique games I’ve ever played will have to play through it fully soon - always thought it was really cool how you could eavesdrop on people’s conversations without them knowing you are there and travel through walls

Army of two, the first game is highly underrated
Shame we don't get more co-op shooters like the Army of Two games.
i Remember being very impressed by Way of The Samurai on PS2, it was my make believe samurai fantasy come true hehehe, also Raw Danger (i think is one of the disaster report games localized to America) that was a very original experience for the time
Thief was actually a really great game with an interesting concept.
Aces of WW2 1 & 2. Some really fun flying, but also some reasonable challenges
5:32 WHY DID THAT LOOK LIKE JAMES SUMMERLIN FROM SILENT HILL!?
Out of all the games mentioned here, the most underrated imo is HAWX 2, a pretty fun aerial combat game.
Mad Max was awesome. It was buried by the "bad games based on movies" thing, but I'm sure if they made a game like that, with more polished mechanics and features, it'd go down as one of the best games around.
2:20 - Um… first original story not based on a film? I think that goes to 007: Everything Or Nothing.
Came to the comments specifically to say this, not only _Everything Or Nothing_ , but also _Nightfire_ and _Agent Under Fire_ as well
The fact I know all these games and played almost all of them means I had a pretty good time growing up my Xbox360.
Here is hoping IO Bond game is really good.
a Quantom Solace was the first fps i ever player and it was on the Wiii so that brings back a lot of memorys thank you
I think constantly about Call of Juarez Gunslinger. It was such a good game and I played trough it several times. Maybe I have to play it again soon.
Smooth use of the phrase 'licence revoked' when talking about Bond games and Activision
(...and the Guardian of Light, ...and The Temple of Osiris.)
Hard Reset.
Thief wasn't boring... A completely underrated game
Commando Strike Force ps2. This game I play the hell out of it, going back and forth each level to see how many ways I can approach the mission.
All James Bond games I have on disc from PS1-PS3. All the movies as well. I am a James Bond glazer I can’t hold you
That really good game that I played was condemned criminal origins. Not really talked about too much, almost forgotten, but it was an interesting survival game.
this is why emulation is key for preserving these games, I have a few of the Bond games.
with Murdered Soul Suspect I remember liking the game when it came out and thinking that I'll buy it when I get a better PC cuz my specs couldn't run it, watched a playthrough from theradbrad and now it's a memory I didn't know I had until you brought up the game
The James Bond game was a hidden gem. I had so much fun playing it back in 2013.
Ultima is another forgotten game, I never played it but I've discovered an old TH-camr called Spoony who's very passionate about it
Gunslinger is amazing!!!! It’s aged so well, still boot it up from time to time. Vanquish is another game that has as well and I am currently playing through it also, sooooooo good! Bulletstorm is an amazing somewhat lesser known title that is well worth a play today!
Man. I remember playing Quantum of Solace with a buddy on his PS2 ... Time flies by quick😢
bruh the walking dead survival instinct is seriously a forgotten gem
