    I love this idea and it can help so many people if they look at skills and personality traits this way. In some context a strength can be a weakness and in some context a weakness can be a strength. I have witnessed this in action this week and it is absolutely true. Thank you for sharing.

    When will the leaders of my company start to listen to Simon Sinek? I feel like we've become a society that only hears the things we want to hear and follow those that support our own ideas to the exclusion of better ones because change is hard.

    I may agree or disagree on your 'Right, wrong, good and Bad'. One thing is for sure. YOU ARE TOO GOOD, Simon, as usual.
    Cheers.

    To ask, “What's best for me” is finite thinking. To ask, “What's best for us” is infinite thinking.

    • @orangealk
      @orangealk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both are finite😊

      Tanvir Ahmed they are both infinite one is just destructive to the whole planet while the other one is for the whole planet. Finite is a game with set rules, set times and an agreed upon goal. While infinite thinking is honestly just to keep on thinking there's no right wrong there's just it worked or it didn't work. No bad no good just it caused a bad thing or caused a good thing. With infinite thinking you aren't putting a label on yourself your just doing what YOU think is right. While finite thinking is doing what you think everyone else thinks you should be doing.

    When he speaks of never winning and never losing it reminds me of how we sometimes believe that personality and business move in a linear way. This is not the reality.

    I don't love the work I do. It's emotionally and intellectually demanding, front line work with real people, in real crisis. I love the fact that I can help them. That's the part that keeps me doing it. But management is clueless. It... They are focused on efficiency and growth, combining tasks and reducing specialization which ultimately reduces quality. It also eliminates the concept of mastery built into the tasks. I've been here before. There is a vast difference between fully utilizing human potential and exploiting labor for profit. It's a matter of focus. One focuses on the development of the employees, the other focuses on the the benefit to the bottom line. They are symbiotic, for sure, but one is the kind of short term thinking that got us here and the other is long term, sustainable and beneficial to all. This is the kind of situation exactly that could use a leader who is employee focused. Numbers guys, like the employees they exploit, are available in quantity. Why do we persist in this?

    I don't know if context will work you out of calling a psychopathic serial killer anything other than bad.
    The other thing to consider (since we're going with context - and I don't disagree on that point by the way, context is virtually everything, but remember, context) is that there are greater contexts and lesser contexts.
    Hitler, in the context of animal rights, was amazing, but considered within the larger context of his actions and thoughts as a whole... Nah. Not so good.

    • @brethahuncho2824
      @brethahuncho2824 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yet again change the context " humans are animals" which now he's back to bad via animal rights. Maybe look at the word perspective it may get you to see exactly what he's saying

  • @seanmacdougall952

    One's strength is almost always one's weakness opposite sides of the same coin. Right, wrong, good, bad are rarely relevant as it's not only contextual, but also subjective. I think most people get caught in the distinction between what they want/like/respect/crave (the internal) and what everyone else likes or at least what they think everyone likes (external.) Both of these are fine, but most people don’t know which one they are doing. Furthermore, many people who believe they are in touch with what they want(internal frame of reference) have actually just internalized the external frame. The opposite also occurs as well.
    Worse, these days the external forces on Spotify, TH-cam, social media are 40% bots and more hackers so now you’re being influenced by bots and those purposely trying to sway u. Lastly, I think most informed jazz fans would agree John Coltrane is "better" than Kenny G. But there are a lot of people who prefer to listen to Kenny G , not Trane and who I am I, or anyone, to tell them they are "wrong"?
