Can't wait for my PS5 Pro to arrive. I already have the disc drive, 4TB SSD, and Controllers. Upgrading from the PS4 Pro. I wanted to purchase black cover plates for it , but am not sure if the cover plates from the Original PS5 would work. So I have to wait on that.
Personally, I found going from 30-45 fps on the PS4 Pro to 60 fps on the base PS5 to be a generational leap. The PS5 Pro is going to take it to whole 'nother level. Your're smart to hold off on the plates until Sony confirms whether they fit.
Dude you got a 4TB SSD? Thats awesome - i was going to get it but it was like £390 in the UK so i held off, may go back to it next year, i got a 2 TB SSD which will be okay for a year, plus the Pro has a 2TB SSD storage built in. If you are upgrading from the PS4 Pro you will notice a massive uplift going from Ps4 to Ps5. Enjoy buddy
Yeah i think some of the games coming to the Pro - especially the Sony 1st party studio games are going to set benchmarks and raise the bar again across the industry. A bit like how Uncharted, God of War 2018, The Last of Us 2 have done. These Sony 1st party games that have been built from the ground up for the Ps5 pro are going to be breathtaking.
The plates will work. The extra Gap in the middle is placed there. Just for that reason if you take the two plates and remove the Gap you have the size of the PS5
NO AMD card has the tech that the Pro does and PC guys always build a $700 PC equivalent with a 1 TB SSD lol. As it stands, the PS5 Pro has NO equivalent. People seem to look past the fact that the Pro console is a mere stepping stone into PS6. Sony got years to improve PSSR before next gen, so I can only imagine what PS6'll bring to the table out the gate.
I know, I getting preached at on a daily basis to get a PC - people don’t seem to get it that I have a really powerful beefed up PC, I’ve played Red Dead 2, Battlefield, FIFA and a few other games on PC and I didn’t enjoy my gaming experience. I prefer playing on the console - I love the console experience. And now that the PS5 pro is out in 3 weeks, I’m wetting myself thinking about the fun I’m going to have and the games I’m going to play.
Can't wait for my 2TB Pro. At least a million of us are buying 1 this year alone. I have 12 Pro Enhanced games, my kids have 2 or 3, & I can't wait to No longer share my Playstation cuz they can play this 1

You know what i'm saying - GTA is going to be the best place to enjoy the game on the PS5 Pro - its going to be at least 2 years after launch before GTA hits PC, that and Yotai, plus Death Stranding 2 are going to look amazing on the Pro.
for BO6, unfortunately I don't think they are forced to patch their game, because since MWII, every single COD is actually a "DLC" of an app released in 2022 that they call "COD HQ"... which makes the game actually released BEFORE September 2024... however I hope they release an enhanced version, it's really the game that needs it the most imo (especially WZ)

Dusk Golem retweeted specifically the Xbox partner showcase on his Twitter. He never shares Xbox anything regarding events, so the fact he tweeted the event makes me think he did that cause he knows it'll be there. I'll have to tune in now. I still think that would be wild and shocking if Sony broke the forever partnership of announcing new Resident Evil games at their events.
Nah - just watched the Xbox event and it wasn’t for me - very mid, just like a typical Sony state of play - no major 3rd party games of note - Alan Wake 2, Sub Nautica, that’s really it, not saying it was bad just not for me. Res 9 probably st Gamescom Asia - today through to Sunday

After how amazing Silent Hill 2 Remake is that definitely had me interested in their new game that was there, and I do think that Mouse PI for Hire looks like a really fun game. I like that 1930s cartoon style look the game has going, but yeah the event was very underwhelming and all the good games are all multiplat.
True, it was mainly all multiplat stuff as the showcase indicated it was a 3rd party event - thing is if Sony did a State of Play everyone would be up in arms hammering it for no 1st party reveals - Sony needs to work on their communication and have the pitch events/showcases.

Who knows what’s happening with pricing - the one thing to remember is that NO ONE KNOWS - anyone that pretends to tell you otherwise is clutching at straws. Live now in the moment. The PS5 pro is going to be brilliant for who knows how long, I “think” a logical assumption is that the PS6 is likely to come out 2028, so enjoy the pro for the next 4 yrs.

The's a big difference between Sony mandating all games after Sept 2024 must run on the PS5 Pro and saying the games must be "optimized" for the Pro. Only games that bear the enhanced label are truly optimized for the new system, while non-enhanced games must rely on ultra-boost mode to help them reach their framerate and resolution targets. That said, I believe COD will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro.
All games that run on the PS5 base model will run on the Pro, however all games post Sep 2024 must be enhanced to support the Pro features. Now, how optimised they are depends on the devs or the level of leeway allowed/given/negotiated. However i believe any up coming new game post 2024 will be PS5 Pro enhanced, with the older games that are not specifically enhanced, that will be PS5 Pro boosted.

I think Sony could have done a better job explaining all of the technical details about specifically which games are pro enhanced, pro optimised ( are they the same thing?), pro boosted and so on. I suppose there are contractual problems if they come out and say certain games will play best on the pro - for example with Call of Duty, gamepass and Microsoft - I can imagine it being quite complicated. Things will start to become more clearer over the coming few weeks
I believe internally, when Sony Green lit the pro, and the devs had the development kit for the pro they would have know about the mandate to ensure games are enhanced, optimised etc from a specific date to be announced later, which then Sony announced earlier this yr and then went public with the mandate given to the devs.
They have some problems with some projects but it’s not just Bandai, it’s all across the gaming industry - although they did very well with Dragon Ball

I bought a 4TB WD BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD for PS5 consoles along with the DualSense Edge pro controller instead. I went with noticeable differences and for 150 less.
Well done bud, the 4TB WS SSD is amazing, i was very tempted but i held off as i have a 2TB SSD and the Pro has a 2 TB, but next year i will get the 4 tb or a bigger SSD depending on price. The prices are defo dropping now as time goes on for the SSD.

That’s why I don’t think the PS5 pro price isn’t going to change until a Yr before the ps6 comes out. Sony sees this as part of the PS5 family. So whether people buy a £350-£400 ps5 or a £700 ps5 pro, a sale is a sale. They have no reason to drop the price of the pro, they know people will just buy it if they are seeking the power solution, want to play games at higher framers, performance, and fidelity.
I have a ps5 and 4080 pc rig and tbh the pricing is just a little too much for the pro version even if I were to sell my ps5. This just solidified my stance on pc gaming. Even more so after wasting money on the duel sense edge controller that is in fact a scam no matter how you look at it. But the real problem with the ps5 pro are the scalpers.

Companies need to be called out for their crappy business practices - the price of the pro is freaking expensive - everyone knows that - but you don’t have to buy it - yet people then start complaining that the pro isn’t good, it’s freaking awesome - many people gaming on Xbox have invested so much money into the platform with such little return it’s hard for them to really understand what’s happening - you don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox games, you don’t need to be a gamepass subscriber to play those game you can play them on PlayStation as they start to go 3rd party, the hardware is a disaster and is just not selling, they are withdrawing hardware from multiple regions, and we got 3rd party devs “choosing” not to make games for Xbox due to the low install base - complete disaster. And now we got the pro which will be the best place for console gaming.

Sony just promising what they can't deliver again. Does anybody remember what they told us about the ps4 pro , did it become a reality nope ! What did they do here buy our new ps5 and you'll game at 4k 120fps and people literally bought into the hype buying expensive hdmi 2,1 compliant tvs and monitors to get the 120fps and guess what sony have now dropped that with the ps5 pro as the reality is devs couldn't deliver ! So a more powerful console with a promise of better graphics and wow up to 60fps. All i can say is a fool and his money are easily parted, keep buying into the hype and next you can have a shiney ps6 that will look great on your 8k tv. So glad i didn't waste my money on a ps5 let alone the ps5 pro . Console gaming has peaked. If you really want a true gaming experience you will need deep pockets and go pc and i am a ps4 player and happy with 1080p and 60fps on the games i play ! I am not chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow !
I'll keep saying this. For me the Pro is such a waste of money. You do what you want with your money though. Don't let others stop you from spending what your money on what you want. I'm just not hyped to play old games from PS4 and maybe some PS5 games better on PS5 Pro. It just doesn't make sense to me to pay the money to keep playing my old games.

Thats the kind of thing i want to see - how does the Pro perform when lets say games where you have lots of players/things happening at the same time - especially in multiplayer games - how does the pro handle stuff - Call of duty "Invasion" which has 40 players and Battlefield 6 is said to have its classic 64 players online - how does the Pro handle the performance, frames, graphics, how smooth is it and so on. I think once people start to get their hands on it and have the chance to play games on it and then share their games lots of people are going to be blown away - the difference on the base model, series s, series X all vs the PS5 pro is going to be a big difference. I get why 3rd party studios may not take full advantage of the pro even through the games will have some level of enhancements for the Pro, but can you imagine the Sony 1st party games developed specifically for the Pro - God of War 2018, Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us - were all made for the PS4, they all look stunning, and someple people still cant believe those games look so good considering they were made 6 - 9 years ago for last gen hardware. Imagine the upcoming games like Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, Insomniac's Wolverine and Spider Man 3, Venom, New Santa Monica Sci-Fi game, etc imaging how good they are going to look build on the PS5 system and fully optimised for the Pro - its going to be INSANE.

Atleast CoD allows keyboard and mouse for consoles, still objectively speaking wont be near as peak performance for top tier PCs, debating price investement between the two is another topic, just dont go saying Blacks ops will play the best on ps5 pro, thats just silly and ignorant. As far as ray tracing goes, we shall see what it can do when it comes out. So far on PS5 you only get 1 ray tracing option (local shadows) while on PC you get like 3 or 4 ray tracing options. As far as veilguard goes (game that will most likely flop) it looks quite bad visually and PC sys req are fairly low too, what will they enchance? Seems like they wont be able to utilize ps5 pro potential on that game at all. I wouldnt say that people hate the PS5 pro tech, just the Sony greed in last 1-2 years. Game price upcharges, monthly games beeing utter shit, subscription price increases and catalogue game quality decreases, easy cash grab remakes instead of new games, and selling PS5 pro without disc drive AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND the god damn stand while advertising it ON a god damn stand.

Yeah - strange times
The's a big difference between Sony mandating all games after Sept 2024 must run on the PS5 Pro and saying the games must be "optimized" for the Pro. Only games that bear the enhanced label are truly optimized for the new system, while non-enhanced games must rely on ultra-boost mode to help them reach their framerate and resolution targets. That said, I believe COD will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro.
All games that run on the PS5 base model will run on the Pro, however all games post Sep 2024 must be enhanced to support the Pro features. Now, how optimised they are depends on the devs or the level of leeway allowed/given/negotiated. However i believe any up coming new game post 2024 will be PS5 Pro enhanced, with the older games that are not specifically enhanced, that will be PS5 Pro boosted.

I think Sony could have done a better job explaining all of the technical details about specifically which games are pro enhanced, pro optimised ( are they the same thing?), pro boosted and so on. I suppose there are contractual problems if they come out and say certain games will play best on the pro - for example with Call of Duty, gamepass and Microsoft - I can imagine it being quite complicated. Things will start to become more clearer over the coming few weeks
I believe internally, when Sony Green lit the pro, and the devs had the development kit for the pro they would have know about the mandate to ensure games are enhanced, optimised etc from a specific date to be announced later, which then Sony announced earlier this yr and then went public with the mandate given to the devs.

I bought a 4TB WD BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD for PS5 consoles along with the DualSense Edge pro controller instead. I went with noticeable differences and for 150 less.
Well done bud, the 4TB WS SSD is amazing, i was very tempted but i held off as i have a 2TB SSD and the Pro has a 2 TB, but next year i will get the 4 tb or a bigger SSD depending on price. The prices are defo dropping now as time goes on for the SSD.

New games, such as COD, don't need to be PS5 Pro enhanced, but they do need to be PS5 Pro compatible. Insider Gaming gave this list of criteria for PS5 Pro enhanced games:
Increased target resolution for titles that run a fixed resolution on the standard console
Increased target maximum resolution for titles that run at variable resolution on the standard console
Increased target frame rate for titles that target a fixed frame rate on the standard console
Inclusion of PS5 Pro Raytracing effects
PlayStation wants (but does not require) a graphics mode that combines:
PSSR to upscale resolution to 4K
A constant 60FPS
Added or increased ray tracing effects

That’s why I don’t think the PS5 pro price isn’t going to change until a Yr before the ps6 comes out. Sony sees this as part of the PS5 family. So whether people buy a £350-£400 ps5 or a £700 ps5 pro, a sale is a sale. They have no reason to drop the price of the pro, they know people will just buy it if they are seeking the power solution, want to play games at higher framers, performance, and fidelity.

I have a ps5 and 4080 pc rig and tbh the pricing is just a little too much for the pro version even if I were to sell my ps5. This just solidified my stance on pc gaming. Even more so after wasting money on the duel sense edge controller that is in fact a scam no matter how you look at it. But the real problem with the ps5 pro are the scalpers.

Companies need to be called out for their crappy business practices - the price of the pro is freaking expensive - everyone knows that - but you don’t have to buy it - yet people then start complaining that the pro isn’t good, it’s freaking awesome - many people gaming on Xbox have invested so much money into the platform with such little return it’s hard for them to really understand what’s happening - you don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox games, you don’t need to be a gamepass subscriber to play those game you can play them on PlayStation as they start to go 3rd party, the hardware is a disaster and is just not selling, they are withdrawing hardware from multiple regions, and we got 3rd party devs “choosing” not to make games for Xbox due to the low install base - complete disaster. And now we got the pro which will be the best place for console gaming.

Sony just promising what they can't deliver again. Does anybody remember what they told us about the ps4 pro , did it become a reality nope ! What did they do here buy our new ps5 and you'll game at 4k 120fps and people literally bought into the hype buying expensive hdmi 2,1 compliant tvs and monitors to get the 120fps and guess what sony have now dropped that with the ps5 pro as the reality is devs couldn't deliver ! So a more powerful console with a promise of better graphics and wow up to 60fps. All i can say is a fool and his money are easily parted, keep buying into the hype and next you can have a shiney ps6 that will look great on your 8k tv. So glad i didn't waste my money on a ps5 let alone the ps5 pro . Console gaming has peaked. If you really want a true gaming experience you will need deep pockets and go pc and i am a ps4 player and happy with 1080p and 60fps on the games i play ! I am not chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow !

I'll keep saying this. For me the Pro is such a waste of money. You do what you want with your money though. Don't let others stop you from spending what your money on what you want. I'm just not hyped to play old games from PS4 and maybe some PS5 games better on PS5 Pro. It just doesn't make sense to me to pay the money to keep playing my old games.

Thats the kind of thing i want to see - how does the Pro perform when lets say games where you have lots of players/things happening at the same time - especially in multiplayer games - how does the pro handle stuff - Call of duty "Invasion" which has 40 players and Battlefield 6 is said to have its classic 64 players online - how does the Pro handle the performance, frames, graphics, how smooth is it and so on. I think once people start to get their hands on it and have the chance to play games on it and then share their games lots of people are going to be blown away - the difference on the base model, series s, series X all vs the PS5 pro is going to be a big difference. I get why 3rd party studios may not take full advantage of the pro even through the games will have some level of enhancements for the Pro, but can you imagine the Sony 1st party games developed specifically for the Pro - God of War 2018, Uncharted, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us - were all made for the PS4, they all look stunning, and someple people still cant believe those games look so good considering they were made 6 - 9 years ago for last gen hardware. Imagine the upcoming games like Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, Insomniac's Wolverine and Spider Man 3, Venom, New Santa Monica Sci-Fi game, etc imaging how good they are going to look build on the PS5 system and fully optimised for the Pro - its going to be INSANE.

CoD best played at console? are you high? Atleast CoD allows keyboard and mouse for consoles, still objectively speaking wont be near as peak performance for top tier PCs, debating price investement between the two is another topic, just dont go saying Blacks ops will play the best on ps5 pro, thats just silly and ignorant. As far as ray tracing goes, we shall see what it can do when it comes out. So far on PS5 you only get 1 ray tracing option (local shadows) while on PC you get like 3 or 4 ray tracing options. As far as veilguard goes (game that will most likely flop) it looks quite bad visually and PC sys req are fairly low too, what will they enchance? Seems like they wont be able to utilize ps5 pro potential on that game at all. I wouldnt say that people hate the PS5 pro tech, just the Sony greed in last 1-2 years. Game price upcharges, monthly games beeing utter shit, subscription price increases and catalogue game quality decreases, easy cash grab remakes instead of new games, and selling PS5 pro without disc drive AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND the god damn stand while advertising it ON a god damn stand.
