Ayeeee Sothis is the first system I travelled to when I started playing a couple months ago. For this very reason XD. I didnt know you had a video about this too.

Sorry I’m late to the party but it’s locked because world war 3 wrecked the planet. And it’s essentially an invaluable monument at this point so they don’t want anyone messing it up more than it already had been. They don’t want any bad actors that might try to do something bad to the motherland.
Have you considered making a key bind for 75% acceleration? You can slam that as late as 6 seconds from your destination and you won't overshoot, and you won't have to stop at all. To each their own of course. I use a Dualshock 4 though. Not sure if that allows for more key binds than an Xbox controller because of the touch pad corners.
When you need to slow down at 7 sec. just go in to the settings and set a Key binding at Throttle 75% ( Mine is set to ` ) that's all you need to do to slow down in time for anything you are trying to drop out of WH space for.
Grinding passenger rescue missions in the witch head does not generate Navy missions. Have to jump back to pleiades to get one. It does let you grind empire and federal at nearby systems.
had a courier mission to a system adjacent to LHS 3615, (i forgor what the system is called, started with an A) and the system was a double star system. mission station was orbiting the second star, 450 thousand light seconds from the jump destination. took me 20 minutes to get there at max speed. i literally had time to turn on sc assist, make dinner, and come back to 9k light seconds remaining.
The 7 second rule?? That's the first time I've ever heard that. I guess it's a 6 second rule for me because I just throttle down to the middle of the blue at 6 seconds and almost always end up making it just about perfect where 1 second more would have been flying past the thing. Was lucky and found a system near sol, where you can do fetch missions worth 5 - 30 millions. Went up from 3 millions to 180 millions with the help of eddb in about 5 hours. Have done these missions in cobra, since I don't have another ship yet. Since the mission giver had a high system influence, I have also received the permit message. Problem is, for some reason I still cannot enter sol.
Speaking of landfall planets with a blue ring indicating landfall-ness, and the same with vertical towers indicating landfall with stations in the system map, what does it mean when the body has a red ring? Because I saw that in one of the moons orbiting Neptune (I think) in Sol, can't remember which one, but pull up the system map for Sol and you'll find it; what does it mean??
The mission board will tell a lot of the things you missed, such as planet fall missions, distance and since i recently came back i think it also gives the type of station.
Pirates always interdict you before you hit the station because you slow down before you pass the station. Something that works well for me is slowing down and letting the pirates do the minigame, that way I don't have to do a loop of shame every time there's a pirate in the system. Also, NPCs are basically impossible to lose to. I cannot count the times I've outmaneuvered small ships in my Type 9. Those fools really have no idea what they're doing.
Just finished my Rear Admiral rank 3 weeks ago. Yes, New Dawn Station likes to give out missions to haul shit And the NPE pirates want to interdict you for all that juicy cargo. Sothis Mining used to give out really good Boomtime Delivery missions until FD nerfed the payout down to the ground. Would easily be between 25 and 30M Cr to deliver 192 units of Gold. Now it's around 6M Cr for 196 units. I did my grinding using a Python with lots of cargo space. Got real good at avoiding interdictions. Anotherv tip: Lots of the mission rewards there are Modular Terminals, so I also unlocked Marco Qwent while I did the grind.
I had been doing trade missions in the heart of the federation for a while but had no idea about the federal navy missions. Turns out I had enough XP to level up to Sol. I got to Sol by doing nothing but shipping alcohol around in a type 7
Uhhhhhh ... I need help. I just got chief petty officer and this game is telling me that I don't have any system permits. But at the same time the comms panel is telling me I have been issued 3 permits
Doing robigo runs, in my stripped python, dude at sirtus atmospherics killed me at the instant i jumped in. it was really satisfying going back there with my geared krait and deleting him. he never came back either
I have 7 second rule but i call it 75% 6 second rule. :D If you specialize to data missions and there is a follow up navy data mission and you don't take it it is a wasted opportunity. Beginners out there FYI it is rare to get such an easy mission to jump rank.
I switched from using my AspX to using my Vulture while doing the rank grind, the interdictions are more fun in my Vulture as I get free mats as well after killing the bad guys.
I'd be tempted to submit to the interdictions if I was in my krait mkii. I have it speced for combat with triple size 3 beam lasers, twin size 2 multi cannons with grade 3 efficiency engineering, a size 6 shield, a fighter bay with mixed f63 and taipan fights, all with plasma blasters and I have yet to lose a fight against any npc pilot below a competent combat rating. When I fly it, I normally get 2.5 mil credits in pirate bounties from the local resource extraction sites per run.
when RNG screws you with missions offered in Ceos, can you take passenger missions to Sirius atmosphere in Sothis to make up for that? would be great cos you wouldnt even need to dock for the sirius atmosphere missions.
Used a Type 9 in these two systems today to rank incredibly fast (not fetch missions wich do suck) doing the data missions and every cargo mission (collect/deposit) Went from none to warrant officer in no time. (few hours). Then, just like that, 0 missions available in both systems. Looks like it is something to do with the systems being in civil unrest as of feb 23. Not sure about this completely still learning about how I effect BGS.
ok, i got the permit but i can travel there bc say i need the permit but I'm a petty officer and i did received the letter saying Sol system permit issued but i cant travel to sol
When did permits were implemented? I have been in sol before ,no permits were required and i hace sidevinder in other system wich i dont have access now, stupid
Another of the most annoying things about NPC interdictions is that they can be 1,000 Ls away and facing you head on and they can still interdict you, while players have to be within so many Ls and be >45° behind the target. They can also wrench you in the most perfect direction opposite to wherever you want to be going with such fantastic force, while player interdictions don't have this ability, and the direction you travel and the intensity of turns is arbitrary and random. A classic case of FDev implementing artificial difficulty.

I ran cargo transport, courier, and passenger missions all between these 2 systems made loads of credits and rep with this method. 😉
bro, i kept picking cr as the reward but i still managed to make my way to that rank un-intentionally. was a lot of fun
Can i get reputation with feds and imps by turning in Exploration Data?
the poe-dameron is the name of a pilot in the new star wars trilogy
Yup. Vantage point is a pain in the ass and I've been stupid enough to not realize that was my destination
22:31 wait how do you zoom in and zoom out on the radar
That poe was poe same rain from Star Wars
Quick tip, if the mission has a blue horizon on it, it means you will have to land, you will know what I mean when you see it
I had been doing trade missions in the heart of the federation for a while but had no idea about the federal navy missions.
If you specialize to data missions and there is a follow up navy data mission and you don't take it it is a wasted opportunity.
Definitely find out how to do the flight assist glitch! It saves A LOT OF time!!
What's that
Ok so just to clarify, if I want federal navy missions, I just have to wait for them to spawn?
when RNG screws you with missions offered in Ceos, can you take passenger missions to Sirius atmosphere in Sothis to make up for that? would be great cos you wouldnt even need to dock for the sirius atmosphere missions.
“Waiting in line gets you nowhere in life.”
****disappointed British noises****
Used a Type 9 in these two systems today to rank incredibly fast (not fetch missions wich do suck) doing the data missions and every cargo mission (collect/deposit) Went from none to warrant officer in no time. (few hours). Then, just like that, 0 missions available in both systems. Looks like it is something to do with the systems being in civil unrest as of feb 23. Not sure about this completely still learning about how I effect BGS.
ok, i got the permit but i can travel there bc say i need the permit but I'm a petty officer and i did received the letter saying Sol system permit issued but i cant travel to sol
I completed my federation reputation and rank 100% but I didn’t get any permit why? Can someone help me?
thank you so much!! This helped me!!!
When did permits were implemented? I have been in sol before ,no permits were required and i hace sidevinder in other system wich i dont have access now, stupid
i fucking love this intro lmao. cant tell you how many times ive done this
Another of the most annoying things about NPC interdictions is that they can be 1,000 Ls away and facing you head on and they can still interdict you, while players have to be within so many Ls and be >45° behind the target. They can also wrench you in the most perfect direction opposite to wherever you want to be going with such fantastic force, while player interdictions don't have this ability, and the direction you travel and the intensity of turns is arbitrary and random.
A classic case of FDev implementing artificial difficulty.
Do you have to 100% petty officer to get the Sol permit because I've just got to that rank but no permit yet?
I found the Canopus system was a closer option to do this. And possibly better in some ways as less stations
07 CMDR s! Boost be with you.
Please use the supercruise assist trick. Also if you see 30k ls or more dismiss that crap.
My supercruise tactic is: full throttle until 6 seconds, then use a key bind tho throttle down to 75%
