I used to LOVE the noise...But now I LOVE the quiet lol...sooooo nice on the highway. Maybe I'm acting like an old guy now. But when you tow cross country the silence is amazing. I hate the emissions bullshit. But the quiet is nice.
I agree with you on DEF and emissions is BS and worst. With that said, 21 L5P here coming from a 3rd gen Cummins. I love how quiet it is, especially towing for long hours the drone killed me before on my Cummins. So I would stay emissions compliant as long as the longevity is there. The power is the icing on the cake. Really interested in the Pulsar with the cost and ease of use. Also there seems to be issues with these DEF gauges on the forums. I only have 9k and my gauge just went from almost empty to half this morning. Can’t trust it.
I have a 2021 Duramax 4inch CST lift and still running Stock ECM on 35's. The truck feels better stock than my 2016 LML on 35's, I think the 10 speed trans makes all the difference. Although who doesn't like more power! LOL! It's nice to see the different tuning options you show in this video. I'm interested in the BANKS derringer. This video has been awesome for comparing different tunes. Really good video thank you! @DURTYMAX LML
Never mind, I wrote the last comment before I got further into the video and didn’t realize that Matt’s truck has 40’s on it. 😂 I had an emissions compliant lml done by duramax tuner and it was great! I currently have a 2020 with a banks derringer and pedal monster and it definitely makes a difference but nothing like ecm tuning but like you said, it comes down to $$! Be careful with the stock 10 speed as well, they do great with stock power but with added power they start to slip more and you’ll have pre mature failure due to the e-hub in the trans being made from billet aluminum and not billet steel.
My L5P is compliant and tuned as well (Pulsar with CTS2)...I have the WCF Inlet Horn, with HSP Intercooler Pipes and HSP Intake and I love it!!! Its just enough sound from under the hood for the Tuner in me to be satisfied LOL. I plan on deleting later on, but as she sits now, I am MORE than satisfied!! Just sick of DEF, DEF = Dumb.... I deleted my 2011 LML and it was fantastic. I definitely miss the driving experience. Thanks for sharing brother...Excellent upload as usual. God Bless America and the 2A
Another thing on DEF…China uses COAL, that’s right they are rolling coal to make ammonia which is used to make DEF. China is the reason for the DEF shortage because they are using their coal for making electricity due to whatever energy issues they are having. As the number one producer of ammonia in the world, how much emissions are put out to make a gallon of DEF vs a straight piped, cleanly tuned diesel truck? And in the US I think we use natural gas to make ammonia but we still supplement from China. So there u go. China is rolling coal for us while the us govt chips our balls off
EDGE EVOHT2 TUNER WITH ECM UNLOCK TOOL 17-19 GM 6.6L DURAMAX L5P this is what I used on my 2018 Chevrolet silverado duramax. It is emissions compliant completely stock except for the tuner now. I love it wish I could hear my turbo but I love the power it added to my truck. I do still have the factory ECM the unlock process was easy with the unlock tool. I'd be interested in seeing some videos or your opinion on this. But I am very happy with it gave my truck a huge boost.
Great content JW! Just wondering if you could do a vlog on what to look for with a person first Duramax purchase? What's your expert opinion on if a person should buy a lifted Duramax with a good quality lift set-up for example yours or Mark's truck if that makes any sense.
Great video 😁 have you had problems with transmission hesitating going in reverse and sometimes grinds with a bang 2021 chevy l5p 10 speed Allison sounds like torque converter has problem all so in drive doesn't happen all the time just asking if you had problems going to dealer to have them look at it
hows the truck been since deleting? any regrets? I'm highly considering deleting my 2020 LTZ as well. just curious about reliability since you can't tune the A10
So I bought a 2015 lml and it had a ez lynk auto agent. Was told it was tuned and deleted. For sure I know it's deleted but they couldn't tell me anything about the tuning. Is possible to use the existing one or is it best to get a new one and get different tunes??
You should be able to go into the ezlynk on your phone and click tunes and it will tell you what tune was last installed / what it is. Single / sotf etc…
@@HardEnduroLlewellyn Would I have to use the ez lynk app, last time I tried connecting to it the ez lynk said connected without internet when it came up on my phone. But ill give it a try. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
@@joshbaca324 yep have it connected to the obd 2 port, then go on your phone into WiFi settings and click the EzLynk. Then you can get into the app and see everything. No worries man!
@@BIGDOG96iphonevids There's really little black smoke, not even when you step on it good not to much smoke comes out. But yeah might look into the tunes but if they are good I should be set just like you said. Thanks for the feedback.
Emissions compliant tuning has come a long way from where it was 5-10 years ago. Does it suck? Yes, but at the same time to still gain hp while being legal is a win win for me, at the end of the day that’s all we want tbh.
Hey would anyone know about 2020 having block heater issues unfortunately two days ago I plugged my truck in and burn 🔥 down the hole truck the truck was parked in a cold garage not running if anyone has info let me know
I was doing this nearly 2 decades ago. On DURAMAX diesel. I have forgetting more about the lb-7, lly, lbz, than you will ever learn from youtube or probably a book for that matter, just from the matter of literally taking them apart and swapping back and forth between lower end and upper end (combining engines) just like you guys probably know the lml and the l5p just cuz it’s in your generation. I currently own 2 l5p…..both are SHIT compared to the older design. This is first truck I have kept passed warranty in 10 years, now the whole fuel system had to be replaced. The milk comment was supposed to be funny cuz it’s largely true.
Well one thing is just a mathematical fact and that's anything with a turbo will always respond and get to the buisness whenever downpipe/exhaust diameter is increased due to air movement easily comes in and goes out resulting in more responsive feed back as well as hitting its boost target much quicker and the additional fuel requirement demanded, u want a diesel to do something throw fuel at it !! Add boost to that point and there's no way a fully def intact tune can equally perform the same ! Isnt possible, until it's proven ! Anyone can make claims, it's proof that handles buisness!!!

Running at 55 with the cruise control set, my LLY got 22 MPG. I had the Banks Ram Air and 5 inch dual exhaust, no tune.
JW, if your tires are taller, that will cause your shift points to take longer.
That L5P sound 😍

@JW Montoya Thanks JW!
How much will cost to do that work on my 2021 denali 2500hd

I love that WORKFORIT hitch!! DmaxRyno
I can’t wait to see the comparison video between the Duramax tuners tuning and a pulsar
Hope to see it soon come on guys smash that like button!!!!!
Where did you get that WORK FOR IT hitch plate at?
Was wondering what ever happened with the 'Towpig' on the way home from Las Vegas? Or is that an upcoming video? Thanks
JW do you recommend deleting and tuning???
I guess the real question is does emissions compliant tuning void factory warranty’s?
Exactly what I want to know otherwise I feel what’s the point? Right
What was the mpg difference between deleted and just tuned?
What makes the whooshing sound from the exhaust or is that just the intake?
JW, I hope everything worked out good last night
please let me know how to delete my 2022 gmc duramax please 🙏🏼
Jw should let Connor drive the L5P his reactions were always the greatest😂
How do you get the L5P to sound like that being emission compliant? Stock exhaust with def system still there?
Cold air intake, cat back exhaust I’m hoping will do it
My 21 Duramax is completely stock. I get about 3500 miles for half a tank of DEF.

Emissions intact cannot make the same power, they can until around 600-650whp but that’s when you start walking away deleted
