Fairly easy to install. Fairly easy to do. Just bolts right on
With larger hands it gets a bit tight but it’s pretty straight forward for sure. You’ll have to move the ecu/pulsar around a bit to get the plugs installed but definitely nothing major. I am super pleased with mine. Start to finish it is absolutely fantastic!! I installed intercooler pipes a few days after the Pulsar and it did make it a bit more challenging on the drivers side pipe fitment but with a little patience it worked out great. Plenty of clearance for everything. Mine is a 2018 L5P 3500. 110% worth the $$$!!!

Now I’m going with off road setup for my 21 3500 drw these things chug def while towing heavy can’t wait to see the difference from regular programmer to full off-road setup

Thinking about getting this in my 2018 2500. Already talked to the dealership and said it wouldn’t void the warranty, so now I just need to order it and get this going. What setting would u recommend driving it on if it’s an everyday driver?

I just installed my pulsar on my 2022 2500 at4 and I'm absolutely loving it. You can tell the difference right away and feel the power. Highly recommended it.

I have one in my 2019 GMC 3500 I do like it a lot it has nice features and for 1100 bucks for the pigie back and the monitor it’s a good price.

I have a 2018 L5P 3500 with HSP intake + intercooler pipes, WCF intake horn, CTS2 w/Pulsar and I couldn’t be happier!!! The ability to customize settings on top of monitoring what’s going on is absolutely fantastic.
It doesn’t have the go fast sounds that my deleted 2011 LML 3500 had but it definitely has everything else that matters to me. For the $ I have in the truck I couldn’t be happier. I have no ragrets lol. I drive mine in level 3. The throttle response made all the difference for me. Well done Edge!!!

Is this truck fully stock and just has a Edge Pulsar V3 added to it? Any other work required or can you put this on a stock duramax? I have a 2017 that is stock beside HSP cold air intake. How is this on the transmission?

I have a 21 model 3500. I pull heavy loads. The truck pulls well. Fuel economy is not good. Also I use a lot of DEF when loaded and driving on the interstate. Will this help with either?
I loved my lml deleted and they sound so good! I’m worried about my crappy state setting more rules against full delete so I’m looking at my options!
The Edge Amp'D 2.0 will increase throttle response with Pulsar installed? Like will it give additional throttle response or better response? Still have a little bit of lag with my Pulsar
My CTS3 constantly freezes up, but my Pulsar is on point for my 2020, love the power
After updating mine a few times, it barely freezes now
2020 L5P with Pulsar tuner. If driving at high speeds for long duration a check engine light will come on and I will be force to perform a manual regen to regain full power again. DEF MPG definitely decreased. Now I drive 150 miles on interest once a week so that could be the factor. (Heavy foot)
I have Banks Derringer plus Pedal Monster on my new 2022 Chevy High Country 2500. It is pretty significant performance increase. I have not any issues and it was quick to install. I have purchased the EDGE Pulsar /CTS 3. Just got it so we will see how this works compared to the Banks which so far has been good.

I have a 06 Sierra 2500HD LBZ. I want a tuner that gives me some extra power for towing my 16,000 pound trailer but also need something that will help be slow down when descending a steep grade. Are there tuners that have an integrated exhaust brake of some sort. Recommendations please. Not interested in rolling coal or drag racing.

I have the Banks system on mine Derringer thinking about switching to pulsar is it that noticeable of a difference?
I drive to mexico every year would the pulsar be suitable for long drives? Or would it cause me issues?
I installed mine and so far so good. I noticed that i get better mpg and regen less. Def consumption is less as well. I have level kit and running 35 tires. You can also raise the governor.

On my 2018 Duramax 3500 I was able to raise my top speed limiter to 140. Obviously not necessary for my needs but why not 😂

Banks has a stand alone pedal monster that you can control with your phone via an app, FYI, you don’t need other banks components to use it.

Great video review! Really want to know more about the "possibility" of sending in ECM and having Edge "unlock" and provide custom tunes...especially if it is less costly than "those other guys".

Deletes are still the way to go. You should see how much carbon buildup was in my y-bridge/intake runners while doing the headgaskets. Not. Cool. But if you gotta pass smog your sol.

I think at this point with the box tuning to ECM tuning is if you want the straight pipe sound. At least from what I’m getting from this video and others.
Ok, but you can still have full flash tuning with emissions systems intact.

The scr behind the turbo eats up 95% of the turbo sound. So without deleting, no you will not get the turbo spool sound.

I have banks Derringer, ram air intake and pedal monster. With the Derringer AND intake it's estimated +95hp, I feel like my Duramax is almost to fast sometimes, I would love to feel the power of this!
Hope you can find someone with it and compare them! Pulsar itself is +135HP so I’d be interested to see how it does with an intake
@@JWMontoya the intake alone made a huge difference in the feel of the truck, only problem I have is when the truck is in regen and you kill it it makes a strange kinda back pressure noise. That aside I would highly recommend a cold air intake on any vehicle, especially a diesel

@@danielhurst6585 I have the banks ram air intake in my 17 L5P dually and boy does it respond alot better. If you're a fan of MPG that's gonna hurt your pocket a little. But, hey, SPG is alot better I'll tell ya. Looking to buy this pulsar system soon.

Do bolt on Pulsar V3 for now. You’ll be plenty happy until ready for delete
But nothing sounds as good as a free flowing Duramax...
Just the legality of it all, shops I'm getting to the point where they try to report you if you deleted it you always have to find a guy on the side that will pass you inspection. Just too much stuff to worry about

I do not…but I use a certain Tech at the Dealer. If you don’t have that tech, then yes. It is very easy and leaves no footprint.

I have 18 2500 Denali all wcf piping with pulsar and cts3 only have the pulsar about a month so far so good but the cts3 keeps freezing and not starting hopfuly updates will fix that.. but I was wondering when you said edge can custom tune can they allow you to delete also or is that not an option?

What upgraded TCM can you run with the pulsar? On a 17-19 Duramax? Can’t really find a straight answer online. Is it possible?
You can buy an unlocked TCM and run full TCM tunes with a completely stock truck with no tuner. I ran PPEI TCM tunes with a derringer for a few months and it felt great.

My CTS 3 started freezing from an update I did the other day guess I'll have to update it on my laptop I thought it was freezing cause of the cold weather. Also how did you get the power level function on your CTS3?

Yes, but pulsar does not work with deletes. Deleting will cost you $7-9k for L5P to do it right

I have a Pulsar V2 on my 2018 and don’t like it at all. I usually run around one setting 1 or 2. Have tried driving on 5 and goes into regen every 150 miles no matter how I drive it. Also don’t like the way it shifts. Been watching your videos and thinking of going PPEI compliant tuning and TCM tune. I’d like to give the Pulsar V3 a chance, but not sure I wanna spend the money and be unhappy with it again.

Look up, " denny diesel " on TH-cam. Watch his videos, you will figure it out. If not, then you shouldn't delete your L5P.. Start to finish total time doing research maybe, 1.5 hr. And you'll know where to go, what to get and how much it cost. Ill give you one hint - A full delete will run you $6,278 not including the labor to have it done. if you do it yourself and send the core back to HP Tuner you will spend $5800 roughly..
just got a 2020 3500 with a 6 inch lift and 35s my fuel economy is 8-12 mpg what are you seeing in your denali would it get better with a 4 inch lift and smaller wheels?
Stop lifting 2500 trucks.. it will fit 35” stock, your 37 just costs more and looks bout same, the lift is what killed your mileage more than the tires.
Stupid question but could you use this and run a EGR delete kit so that the software picks it up so you can run a straight pipe exhaust.
You mean to flash a delete tune over it? It’s a possibility but I wouldn’t recommend it. Edge also won’t warranty it if you try to flash other tunes that are provided by Edge.
Hmm i had the derringer and honestly didnt feel much of a difference unless i went all the way up to 5 or 6. But the only reason i would delete mine is so i can hear more of the turbo

If you get the pulsar, you don’t need the pedal monster. You can keep the idash, but I would personally use the CTS3.
For the people saying trucks with emissions on will grenade around 100k miles, i drive semi for a ltl company. All the trucks are emissions intact and all are averaging 850k miles.

L5P. All duramax have been an L5P since 2017
I have a 2020 and bought the derringer. I have had 3 derringer's, and 2 harnesses. Finally requested a refund from Banks. When the harness was plugged in, I got "service parking brake" code, and the truck went into reduced power mode 30 or 40 times per day. Dealer tried to replace the ECM twice and even with everything uninstalled, they can't program the ECM. Awful experience. I'm considering an Edge Pulsar now.

The answer is “no”. Pulsar is Emissions compliant. Once you remove your factory exhaust, it’ll throw codes and put your truck in limp mode

Check with your local dealer. Some will still work on your truck, some won’t.
i dropped 3.5k to delete my L5P with SDT. Ran for 3 miles, and the ecm bricked. Left me stranded. Never been more pissed in my life. I decided that it wasn't for me and i didn't want to deal with that risk. I asked SDT to just refund my money and id send them back the faulty product they sent me. didn't even get but 1400 dollars back from them. very bad business. Don't recommend them at all. With us all being apart of the same dying community, you'd think they'd have more Appreciation in their customers. Especially since i have bought tunes and kits from them over the years. They Didn't want to make the situation right. I highly recommended the pulsar over deleting on the new L5Ps
Yeah, you're pissed because someone did a crap job with the delete tuning... but wait until your bone-stock L5P has some kind of DPF component failure, like the DEF heater/sensor which happens exceedingly often, and your truck refuses to start or will not exceed 50 MPH.

Does the pulsar have different settings for different levels of tunes? Like switch on the fly? I'm asking because I do tow heavy ofter, so I don't want to run a high tune when doing so but when I'm not tuning I would mind having that power. Yeah, you can slightly more custom tuning and cheaper but power gains are similar

I am very interested in the edge EVOHT2. Any info or thoughts on the EVOHT2 vs PulsarV3 would be awesome.
It looks like the EvoHT2 unlock procedure can work with the HP Tuners MPVI3, so that you can unlock your ECM with the evo instead of having to remove it, mail it, and wait weeks for it to be returned. You can then tune it as-is or , more intelligently, get an MPVI3 and delete the emissions crap.
@@alphaforce6998 That was part of my thought process. Do the EvoHT2 and CTS monitor. Be able to run the edge tunes while saving money to be able to do a full delete.

@@juanguerrero1747 This is definitely the way to go. Expect non-deleted diesels to start having major engine issues starting as soon as 50K Miles. Properly deleted diesels will last for millions of miles without anything more than normal maintenance.
