Everyone talking about Tool similarities but I'm hearing more Mastodon. Either way, this is the most exciting teaser/release I've heard in recent years (and yes, that includes Tool 2019)
I grew up in the 90s with Tool. And Tool repeat themselves. The Ocean are evolving with every record. The only similarity I see is that you can't spot both vocalists on stage because they hide in the dark 😅.
quietriot Even if Tool doesn’t have the sonic diversity that some prog bands have, the wealth and density of their songs far outshines almost everyone in the genre. They have their sound, and they’re out to perfect that sound, rather than trying to create a wide range of sonic diversity. Two completely different approaches to the genre, and I’m not discounting either.
@@GrapeFlavoredAntifreeze Agree, Im not discounting Tool. It still is definitely in the top 3 bands of all time for me. But for me Aenima was the golden age of Tool. Lateralus and 10,000 days had some masterpieces as well. But I just felt the new album fell a little short for me personally (although it was logical progression for the band). This Ocean track is how I wish Tool would have progressed (maybe if Maynard's voice wasn't shot)
I love the synths..like on 6:30 almost give me a Sybreed feel when they use synths cuz of the sounds they went for. Yet again they sound like a mix of a handful of bands.. but the synth sound they chose is where its at.

This and a belgian beer await for me back home. My god. The hype. Edit, spoilers: The Heliocentric elements are just godlike. The drums section which resembles: "The First Commandment of the Luminaries" followed by the "Our world will fade away in flames" blew me away. The hints of trumpet, bongoes (and some piano, I think) just made this even better. The crescendo and blast beats towards the end of the track (and the fall of the meteorite) made me burst into laughter. Thank you, The Ocean. Much love from Mexico City, Mexico
@@Prognosis__ It's funny how different the alcohol standards of Belgian beers are. As a Belgian, a normal / weak beer is anything up to 5%, medium is 6% - 8%, and strong beers only start at 9%. And even then, some of my absolute favorites are between 12% and 15%. A 12% beer is basically unheard of outside of the kraft beer scene in most places. It's neat.

The production is mastodontic! Bass and Drums seem coming out of the earphones and hitting on your skin...
I hear Mastodon influence on many of their songs but here it is a clear as hell Tool influence.
The beginning reminds me Textures... and I wish we could hear some new stuff from them. But hey, this song is still original and so good
saw these guys on friday at Euroblast - this was their second encore
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i can't wait a whole week. I'm blasting Permian - The Great Dying since one year nearly every day. I need new stuff.
Hahaaa me too, I'm blasting the whole album at least 3 or 4 days a week, it's incredibly good!
@@CarlosArandia Yes. I love Pelagial but i think this double album will top it. Permian is my favourite The Ocean track
One of, if not the best song to come out of 2020 yet.
The blastbeat breakdowns are amazing!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love the synths..like on 6:30 almost give me a Sybreed feel when they use synths cuz of the sounds they went for. Yet again they sound like a mix of a handful of bands.. but the synth sound they chose is where its at.
Very unique band that never dissapoints!
Discovered this by accident tonight. Have now had it on repeat for an hour. WOW.
14 minutes of perfection😍
This album is great, but I can’t stop listening to this song over the others. It’s already one my favorite songs ever and I never heard of this band before this album. I thoroughly enjoy every single part in this song.
Oh man, I need this so bad...
This and a belgian beer await for me back home. My god. The hype.
Edit, spoilers:
The Heliocentric elements are just godlike.
Much love from Mexico City, Mexico
just 1 Belgian beer?
I’m drinking a home brew Belgian beer now.... 10% abv so it’s strong
It's neat.
This is just ridiculously good. I mean, The Ocean has been on my fave bands list for years, but the last few years have just been amazing in the quality and eveness of output that is just incredible. Great live band too!
This is fucking delicious!
What's even better is that after two hours of fighting with the Pelagic Records site and sprouting more grey hairs, I finally got my limited edition vinyls and t-shirts to go through the checkout!
Great to hear to relive the stress while at work. I love The Ocean. Great band. Listening since 2018.
I love Katatonia and all and some songs on City Burials are amazing...
but man o man
These collab songs with The Ocean are like the best pieces of music made in the last 10 years.
Just make this merger full-time.
Guys!!!! THANKS!!! This song is addictive! I just note more and more details every time I hear it! The constant changes just blow minds!
God damn amazing. Vinyls preordered!
THEY LISTENED 😭😭
Énorme groupe, j'estime qu'il devrait gagner en renommé !
At 7:00 the bass opens a new universe dimension.
So majestic
Great The Ocean,as always. However,I think everything Renske touches,it becames gold.
This band and Intronaut are the best findings i got this year.
This is going to be the best metal album of 2020, by far.
Easily there best song yet, glad to see they're still getting better.
Loving this production.. And music!
It sounds way more organic and real than most over processed modern metal productions, especially the drums
Idk how these guys can play this live. Counting this is a nightmare
The real issue with this song alive is the vocals, since the album version is singed by Jonas Renkse.
@@randomavenger3048 they're touring with Katatonia, they better play this live!!!

HOW CAN IT BE SO BRUTAL?
Yes! A week? Noooooo! Note to self, patience is a virtue. I'm so excited for this track.
This is exactly what I needed in this quarantine.
Amazing! Can't wait for this album.
Very on brand for 2020 that we're getting this album in September and a meteor with a non-zero chance of colliding with earth is slated for a flyby in November.
