My best friend died very unexpectedly shortly after you released this song. It was the last thing that I sent him... He was a huge fan of your music. So it comforts me a little that he was able to enjoy some very nice tunes in his last days... I really liked you before but now even more and I will always remember this song as a tribute to a man who ultimately changed my life. If I will ever be able to see you live I hope you will play this one. Although I will cry a lot but who cares... R.I.P. Dennis, I will always love you

    Lyrics:
In the beginning I was told
That the life in you ran cold
    My tears turned to dread
With words of life and death
    I was sold a lie
    My future in disguise
    You chose to be deviant
    Always deviant
    Always desperate
    Binding, debased conscience
    Soul mate, faceless
    Now stare into the light
    Circling beyond
To never release the grip or pressure
    The rising intent
To birth and release the darkness within
    Tear the mask away
    Breathe another way
    Tear the mask away
To uncomplicate the patterns that we all feel
    Keep the flames at bay
    Live another day
    Tear the mask away
    Facing one another
    Now elevate my understanding
    My body's fading
    Tomorrow came for me
Rushing in and out of me
    I want it all
    Give me everything now
    Tear the mask away
    Facing one another
    Now elevate my understanding
    Elevate my understanding
    Don't exacerbate my perception
A hidden sign amidst the cold
A serpent's eye, with grinning teeth beneath it
A cold surprise you won't deny
You pay the price and keep it
I sold a lie amidst the cold, a sudden cry
I sold a lie amidst the cold, running high
Grit your teeth and bear it
    A faint surprise, overtly bold
Stand your ground and mean it
I sold a lie amidst the cold, running high
I sold a lie amidst the cold, running high
Grit your teeth and bear it
The words I whispered followed you
They lit a light in you
That you might not have found
To dream of flowing locks untwisted
And auburn eyes glistening as you weep
The words that I whispered when it all began
Did they shine a light on you you don't understand?
To dream of flowing locks untwisted and stormy

The rhythm, the guitars - you get the impression of several pieces in one. And the voice! What a voice! Screaming, high-pitched, low-pitched, clear voice, and all that for 10 minutes! Takes some balls to release an 11 minute track as a single, yet it certainly did not disappoint. The first track I ever heard was Lament in 2011 from the Album "One" I instantly fell in love with TesseracT and they've been in my top 3 Bands of all time ever since. War of being has quite literally taken techniques that has made each album of tesseracts unique and perfectly blended into a Prog Metal masterpiece. This, to me, is quite possibly their best work to date! Also Manchester date falls right on my Birthday so I'm double stoked!

I’m getting that same feeling I got when I heard “One” for the first time. So beyond excited for this new album this is everything I could’ve ever hoped for from TesseracT

Don't know if I should laugh, scream or cry after hearing this... guess I'll do it all. If there ever was a theme for all humanity, Daniel should sing it!

Hold on to the good times. You might never stop hurting, but it will get easier. Certain songs still get me, because I would listen to them on the commute to see my father in his last days. It's like an ice pack for a swollen heart.

@warrenmoody Thank You so much. Yes, definitely are songs that remind you of the lived ones you have lost and can be sad, but also put a smile on ones face. We can our memories of the good times❤️

There is so much packed into this 11 minute song. Need to listen multiple times for everything to sink in. Initial thought is excellent composition, elements of the complete discography merged into this single track...... and the drum work is beyond phenomenal.

I came here looking for this comment. The resonance in his voice when he sings “auburn eyes” at 9:44 is the single best moment in the song for me

Had to dig for this comment myself! I guess some people just don’t have the ears for it, those melodic screams put a bow on top of an otherwise masterpiece. Dan, you and your band are prog gods!
