My younger brother would have absolutely loved this song... He went absolutely nuts over the first two albums (sadly, the only ones he got to hear). RIP Michael.
Thank you, my friends. I appreciate the sentiments! His birthday is coming up on Sept. 27, and I'll be honoring him by listening to "Souvenirs..." and "Ecailles de lune," followed by his other favorites, which contain *Fen* "Epoch" and *Ne Obliviscaris* "Portal of I". Michael was one of the *nicest* people you could ever meet. And he would never dismiss any group's music; he gave everything a chance at least once. Hell, he even attended a *Nickelback* concert a friend invited him to. Now _that_ is a level of nice I didn't even think was possible. 😁 But anyway, thank you once again for your heartfelt sentiments!

Our world is dying day after day... But this piece of art protects my soul, at least...
Those movements spoke to me. I know these dances with spirit well, literally. It's good to know we're not alone. Those moments when the Soul takes hold and rides you through your creative medium remind the cells whom they serve. The Divine Human is shaking off Its ancient slumber within every Being. So good to see
nice comment
Is it part of the lyrics?
Ottorocker no I don't know the translation or I would share
😔
One of the most relaxing metal songs I’ve ever heard. So dreamy
Is it just me or this video is truly fitting Alcest's music style?
Lindo ver como a banda lança suas obras... volta as raízes e outras vezes busca o novo.
Ótimo acordar, tomar seu café e antes de ir pro trabalho contemplar isso.
Melhor clipe do Ano
Na boa, n tem nada pior do q isso de voltar as raízes. Kodama é maravilhoso e eu acho muito bom q as banda nunca repetem as mesmas formulas, tipo o Deftones tb.
Sensacional!!!
@@rosembergfer realmente agora q eu vi o "busca o novo" kkkkkkkk é que a frase "voltar as raízes" me desagrada demais.
So proud that this outstanding band is French ! This song is amazing, I'm looking forward to listening to their new album !
👏👏👏👏Wow. I accidentally clicked on this video and instead of going back I let it play because it sounded amazing from the beginning. I've never heard of this band but this song is incredible. I'm definitely going to check out more stuff from this band. Glad I stumbled across this! 😊
They've outplayed themselves marvelously. This new angry Alcest sounds so fucking good. It's being a pleasure following the evolution of this band. They never fail to reinvent themselves.
As someone who suffers from depression, I see this video as a metaphor of what your mind can do to you until it rips the grace from your soul.
Night collapses as a
Suspended tapestry
And I hear
Roars within
And I struggle
And fight
The shadows
Piercing us
Like arrows
The swell of the sea
Is a suit of armor
To protect us
When day expires
So many blades
So many icy waves
To face the feral beasts
That growl inside of us
This video will be with me for ever, the song is so euphoric and the video only makes it better, the dancing the transcending, it is truly on another level and I will never not enjoy it for what it is
Who said metal can't be beautiful? Thank you Alcest. It's good to know they keep their essence.
Alcest's music always speaks to my soul and more often than not have me in tears. so damn beautiful and deep music! there's no band like Alcest
I'm in awe. A Band that didn't even need a "refreshing" change in sound but they did it anyways and it worked great. Is cool to see them incorporated more straight up metal sounds and energetic riffs into the mix
If the earth had a voice, it'd be Alcest.
Just discovered this guys today while shuffling black metal music.
Awesome Music!
Bro nobody might see this, but I was so damn happy to get a single from Alcest and Jinjer the very same day. 2 of my top bands...
Nothing like curling up with a nice hot cup of tea, this album and a Brandon Sanderson novel.
Nice
Good choice in books music and drinks
The Seer: Oh Rollo, if you trully knew what the Gods have in store for you, you would go now and dance naked on the beach
Rollo:
Hot damn!! This is instant Classic. Just got my Indian friend who’s been here only 2 yrs into Sigur Ros and Alcest is next. It’s going to blow her mind.
Merci Alcest 🇫🇷
Can't wait for the full album.. absolutely a masterpiece !!
Alcest is always great study music. But it's amazing to listen to when going through hard times
I'd say it's one of the worst kind of music to listen if you want to study lol. Way too emotionally powerful.
@@bousculade1035 yeah that too but it helps me calm down as well
If all the album will be at this level it could be even better than the first two Alcest masterpieces.
The heavier guitar sound hasn’t damaged the band’s style at all
I think this video shows our impact on oceans and all aquatic organisms. We polluted their world with plastic and other trash, they are now suffering (the beautiful dancer perfectly shows it!) but there will be time when this situation will turn against us, and that is shown with the scene when girl is looking at the city. Beautiful work, musically and visually!
Wow! Si le reste de l’album est aussi solide, ça va être dans mon top 3 c’est certain.
I don't know how did I end up here, but if there's something that is for sure, is that TH-cam really knows what to recommend. 10/10 excellent service.
This album might be the best one, I can feel a heavy yet transcendent sound to it.
Alcest!? Where have you been all my life !?❤
It's worth being alive to hear this masterpiece.
Maybe the last soul refuge , i can't stop listen this song it's wonderful in many ways
Everything Alcest puts out is fucking genius and beautiful. Thank you.
(Appreciating your YT handle 🔼) 😁
Your dancer is an unfathomable wonder. Oh my god. Literally transcendent.
