I remember being 9, reading the manual to prepare myself for the bosses (Was really bored on the way home after a trip abroad, where I got the game, so I might as well read something). When reading it, in my head, the bosses became kind of epic, big, very detailed, and really difficult. Imagine the disapointment when playing the game. Rest of the game was great fun though.
All boss lookalikes: 1: a crab 2: a parrot 3: a old man??? 4: a badger working in a bakery? 5: a UFO!!!!! 6: a mouse prince 7: a female Welsh dragon (yes I live in Wales) 8: a flying robot 9: a king giant
So you have a giant robot that you install with things like lasers, lightsabers and jet engines that allow it to fly, but you don't bother to make it waterproof?

It has probably some of the best looking bosses in retro gaming history yet the developers thought that since some parts of the game are hard they would make them piss easy except the last one to beat.
The fact that every boss in this version of the game, after seeing the Genesis version, has the same boss theme disappoints me, personally. In the original Genesis version, each boss had their own theme that seemed to fit well with them, some variety. In this one, they all share the same one. It is like Mr. Nutz from SNES to Genesis. I thought that the fourth (third in the original) boss's theme was much more fitting for it than the one here, for example.

Personally they should of not bothered with the 3D cutscenes, they should have kept to the 2D ones on the Genesis version, plus the music as well. Would be nice if there was a complete version hack or something like that where you have all the music and cutscenes from the Genesis version but have all the Sega CD extras as well.

My superior version. Boss 1: He's the king of the crabs, so he'll call one of them to help him out every time you hit. The crabs will be a bit faster than the previos ones and will move from left to right and right to left for 2-3 times and they'll go away. The king will jump to try to crush you when he wants, like, every 6 seconds. And when he hits the ground, if you'll be on the ground, you'll be stunned for 3 seconds, making you an easy target to attack. Boss 2: His life bar's full so it'll be a fair match. Every time you hit him twice, you'll trigger his invicible animation. He'll fly like a real parrot does and will try to attack you with his feets. And every time he gets hit twice, he'll shoot more bullets and will do it faster. When he jumps on the same spot, he'll cause the ship to lose balance and you will go agaist him for 5 seconds. If you touch him, you'll get contact damage, you have to jump fast to go away. He'll sometimes switch to a sword and charge at you to pierce you off. Boss 3: His "hands" will be bigger and will fall faster so they'll be harder to dodge. He'll also be able to attack at the centre of the arena. He'll sometimes immeditialy move away from his spot to throw you off guard and to dodge your attacks. Every time you hit him twice, his "head" fall from his "body" and start to bounce everywhere for 7 seconds and then he will get back to his body. He can't be hit during this phase but can't be use his hands to attack. Boss 4: His life bar's full so it'll be a fair match like the second boss, and he also has contact damage like him. Every time he throws his bag, it'll always bounce in a different patterns so you'll always have to change your strategy. The bag also would be bigger so it'll be harder to dodge. When you'll catch his bag, the badger will get and start to throw things like chairs, knifes, chests... the things you use in the normal levels every 4 seconds. They won't remain in the arena and will disapeear after 10 seconds. Boss 5: Every time he flys away in the sky, many projetiles will fall from the sky fast. And when he's at the arena and opens the ballons, he'll throw other projetiles at you . Boss 6: Every time you hit the sword, it'll get faster and madder. When he's drained to 4 hits, he'll create a sword clone of itself and they'll both attack you at the same time. The only difference between him and his clone is that only the original has the mouse prince holding it. Boss 7: The dragon would spit real looking fire. He'll be able to fly above the screen and start to spit many fireballs that remain on the floor for 3 seconds. He can use his tail to hit the ground and make a thunderbold and you have to jump to dodge it. You can't hit him by jumping on his jaw, but you'll have a watergun to estinguish his life bar. Boss 8: The battle would be completily different. The boss is in 2D, he's above you firing bombs that esplode on the ground, fire bars when you get near him and cannonballs that bounce a bit on the ground. To hurt him, you have to take those water buckets and throw their water at him. Boss 9: First off, let's give him a name, Filoock The Emperor. Let's start off with what he already has and then add new stuff. His laser beams wouldn't be his demise, but a shotgun with infinite bullets, since. You could always hit him, he would have 14 life bars instead of 7. The laser beams would also be impossible to cheese by standing on the centre of the room this time.The spiked balls he drops would fall faster and in different patterns. When he tries to crush you, you can't stand between his legs anymore or he'll grab you with his hands and hurt you. And he would also jump more times than once. New moves: he uses his hands to punch the platform 3-4 times to try to hurt you. The punches would target your position, so you'll always have to move away. He'll be able to create spikes that appear on the floor for 2 seconds. Done.
You could also return every originals boss theme for each and every boss, including giving some new ones for the new bossses. “First and Furious” - The king crab’s boss theme, as he’s the first boss in the game “The a-little-too magical sword” - The mouse prince’s theme. Makes sense cuz it’s a flying sword. “R-A-C 3100” - The robot’s theme. May have drums and some sort of electric guitar I haven’t played the game but I know the bosses and songs, so I do not know if this reply is valid.

The music for that boss is part of the FMV sequence itself as opposed to the usual redbook audio that would normally play and as a result the music for that boss had to be compressed to fit within the limitations of the format used for the FMV sequences, if you listen to the cutscene music after defeating a boss you'll notice that the music there has the same kind of sound quality for the same reason.

@demomanchaos There are a few tricky puzzles, but most of the game is rather easy, it's just that the bosses are the least challenging part of all.
