me and my older brother played this on a Genesis compilation disk and this was our favorite game even we got our younger siblings on it. it was really late at night when he finally reached the last world and I wanted to see him beat it. we then discovered how to beat greedy in his second phase after dying so many times.
Ahh, I loved this game so much as a kid, still to this day Ristar is one of the absolute best Genesis classics out there...This game is so perfect...!!!
The boss fights were great in this game. Uranim was a fun fight, but no fight was more enjoyable than Adahan. Hated the stage, but fighting Adahan made planet Scorch worth it!
Fun fact: Itamor has an alternate look in the Japanese-localized version of the game. Itamor’s Japanese look is very reminiscent of the fortune cats (I think that’s what they are; the Japanese call them Maneki-neko).

Well actually, when sonic was being created, before he was a hedgehog he was planned to be a rabbit that would attack enemies by throwing objects at them with his ears, but they scrapped it and made sonic a hedgehog, then years later the rabbit idea was revived and they turned it into ristar
This game bears some similarities to Kirby. Those 4 orb leged enemies look like that robot enemy the meta knights use. Meanwhile, in the battle against Greedy, he creates black holes just like Marx and Magalor. There's even equivalents to Dyna Blade and Sweet stuff! And partially King Dedede X Dark matter.
Ristar is like the unfortunately dead counterpart of Sonic. They are both platformers, have awesome music, are both made by SEGA, and, well, they have the same finger wave and gloves, for God's sake.
In a way, I'm kind of glad that Ristar didn't really take off. Otherwise, think of all the abominations that would have resulted. Ristara, original character, do not steal. Tyrone the star. You name it.

did you know? in the Greedy fight you can grab and hold on to the pawns while Greedy summons the black hole. Ristar won't budge if you hold onto them.

During the bird boss, if you don't let the boss interrupt the little bird, its singing causes health stars to drop for Ristar.
