The quality of lounges have dropped a lot in 2023 with overcrowding. Among the worst I'vel seen in Canada, USA, and Europe this year is Vancouver. Line ups to get into a lounge that is more crowded that the departure area.... And I have been through the airport multiple times. Also, increasingly dragon pass hasn't helped to get into lounges when the designated lounge is associated with an airline. I've been turned away by Virgin and Turkish airways this year when I tried to enter with dragon pass in the USA because they said they lounge was at the capacity for Dragon Pass users.
I know this is a first world problem but I think there should be some sort of refund or compensation if lounges are at maximum capacity and refuse guests. We paid directly and indirectly for lounge access, we shouldnt be refused something we paid for. Its the lounge's job to manage their capacity and limit access. Its so frustrating to show up at a lounge and be told "there's a waitlist of 3 hours"
I’m actually not too miffed by lounge overcrowding. I go there to have access to comfortable chairs, free food, and most importantly WiFi and working outlets. I hate when children are yelling and screaming, but that’s what noise canceling headphones are for.
I recently flew YHZ-YVR-SFO and reverse a week later. Each of these have a Maple Leaf lounge which I visited; I have lounge access through my credit card. Long gone are the days of the upper echelons accessing these lounges; now it’s run of the mill types from all walks of life hoarding free food and drinks in an undignified manner. I couldn’t enjoy the beautiful lounge at SFO because of the woman that didn’t think twice about talking freely on her phone in an area where patrons are asked to refrain from using them, there were 7 signs staring her in the face stating as much. Somehow the terminal seems a better place to sit now, pretty much free of the sheep.
You only get access to air Canada lounges if you have a reservation with AC. Does not matter what status you have. Rickey, are you guys paid/sponsored by AmEx?
Ricky, I personally charge you responsible for the over crowding of Maple Leaf Lounge in Canada. Not very good experience at all. They need a separate section for Business/first Class passengers.
I went in my first lounge 2 weeks ago. it was an early flight out of TO in the am. No food at time we showed up. , wait for coffee because kids were making hot chocolate, then machine had to reheat water. Overall, free barely makes its worthwhile to attend. If it was later and I had booze, maybe it is different. Shitty breakfast that is free, flip a coin. Really disappointed in what my premium credit card provides. Looking int marmot convoy.
Strange thing about that, is as a Canadian I was never in the army. But working in the USA, that country treated me so well, that I am obligated to them. And if I had the chance to serve with them, I wish I did.
Thank you very much for the information but it would be nice if you can relax and talk a little bit slower. I've seen the same common several times before! 😅😅
Try to change the video speed to 0.75x on youtube. Or even pressing the "J" button on your laptop to rewind 10 seconds each time some new info strikes you. Hope this helps
Thanks for the prom reply! Yes, I know but that only works when watching with laptop, but once you send it to living room TV with chrome cast, the speed function cannot be changed, only subtitle works. We shouldn't have requested you to change your personal style anyways. Thanks.
Please learn the difference between 'significant' and 'substantial'. There is a SUBSTANTIAL difference. A lounge with just a water bottle and lounge chairs is significantly different than one that has reclining chairs and soda drinks but there is a SUBSTANTIAL difference compared to one that has showers, alcohol and beds.
How do you get the free Regus membership? I’m on their site (I think it’s the same one. Has the same logo as the video) and i only see paid memberships.
Create a free account at MyRegus, login, skip adding your credit card, click the Quick access tab, go to airport lounges, click ‘go to external site,’ register at Dragonpass, download the Dragonpass app + login.
It's just different companies doing the same thing. Think of it like booking.pulse.ly/0qe6gn3msm vs expedia vs agoda etc... They are all directing consumers to the same places, more or less
These are great tips, with the exception of a Regis membership, which is not free. Unless I'm missing something, you may want to review this particular content.

It varies by access method (credit card) and lounge, but the Canadian American Express Platinum card allows the cardholder and one guest. Sometimes children under 16 are allowed for free. Holding a paid supplemental card would allow that person to bring a guest, so in that example you could bring four adults.

be honest, card perks are gone. I looked at at a flight overseas for $1200. Use your card for 80000 points plus $900 in fees , giv

You should really see LaGuardia. The best terminal I’ve seen by far. It was unbelievable. The centurion lounge looked like garbage in comparison.
I am tired of paying 700 bucks for annual fees, better to pay 3-4 times that I fly..
Agreed - I’m just buying lounge access when I need it - I did the math and it makes sense for me. Plus lounges aren’t the experience they used to be
That would definitely be the case if your platinum isn’t giving you other useful benefits.
Lounge these days are essentially restaurants that are expensive and crowded

Very good video- props for mentioning the USO. Your a real one 💯
Lounges have been so busy and most of my flights are domestic within US. I wonder how the international lounges are during those busy times
This was great! Always nice to sit back and relax before a flight.
Some lounges are better than others. When are Centurion lounges coming to Canada?
Nothing announced - we can only hope.
Will get my Amex platinum card when Centurion lounges come to Canada.

Then you may have to contact them directly. As I don’t have your screen, I can’t tell what is wrong. Sorry about that.
Mine is economy and inclusive of my price 😅
If an airport has more than one lounge in the terminal, can you "lounge hop?"
Absolutely! As long as you hold the requisite airline status, boarding pass, credit card, or lounge pass.
Couldn't find Loungebuddy on my iphone 15 app as well. Has it moved, got deleted?
The Loungebuddy app has been discontinued. They do still have a functioning website.
Thank you for the info. I'll check out their website.
Does free lounge access mean, all things there are free?
Usually/mostly
It usually is, but some locations charge extra for alcohol or some premium F&B items.

I have Canadian Amex platinum. I plan to lounge hop in sfo international. Can I bring a guest to all lounges?
once i had a card that allowed unlimited guests.
Can I access lounge on arrival on destination city?

lounge buddy for Apple only!
I cant find it in apple app store
Are kids under 12 free for maple leaf lounges?
Yes. www.mapleleafclub.ca/en/service/general-terms-conditions/
stop saying the food and drinks are free. nothing is free.
They are free once you have access, as opposed to having access to the lounge and still have to pay for F&B in addition. That's the contrast.
You ruined the video with nude clips
