Thank you so much Justin, you're an amazing teacher! These lessons are the first thing I found that feel so natural about changing minor and major pentatonics. I've been struggling with this for a long time even though I play guitar since 2002, but like many, when it comes to improvising, I stuck with the "safe" minor pentatonic. Please continue with these lessons and give more examples like these for us that are not so creative to make them up ourselves. after just these 3 last lessons of yours, I feel my understanding of this has improved massively. thanks

Cool man. Congrats on your progress. Can you, at a glance name every note on your guitar? If not, you must learn this ASAP. It will help you a lot. I've been playing a while too. IMHO it is really not about memorizing patterns and being able to just "play songs." That's fine if that is all you want, but for me, it is about "playing guitar." Really mastering the instrument. There is big difference.
It seems like you appreciate some theory too (major/minor penta.) That will serve you very well. I like this teacher a lot. I also studied under some Berklee cats and Zombie Guitar is awesome too. He has a 12 week course to learn every note on the guitar. It's a really unique approach that I am enjoying. You learn one note, from one chord at a time in both major and minor form. This forces you to hear the intervals and see the patterns. You do this for all 12 notes. Even after the first chord, C, I learned a lot. I can really see the power of learning this.

    Wow! Hey, Justin!
With this one, i just started playing. I started with the lick you showed us, then mixed it with one i had, then i just went crazy!
I was already warmed up from the practice I've been doing all morning (from your previous videos), then i just really got into it. I impressed myself!
I was mixing Major & minor, and next thing i knew, i was just playing like crazy. But the important thing to me was, i learned new licks and was in the zone, playing great!
My intention starting out was NOT to improvise, but that's what i ended up doing. It was fun!

Another great lesson Justin. I'm just starting to get my head around mixing the minor and major pentatonic scales so it couldn't have come at a better time. This is of course classic B B KIng territory (though Albert King uses that second position lick a lot when he plays minor pentatonics). I thought for a moment you were going to change the string whilst you carried on with the lesson à la B B King ;-)
