As for filters, if you use some of the paid products from kHs such as Snapheap or slice eq, you can really customise filters, mix things in and out etc. ofc if you only count the synth by itself, vital wins imo
Vital seems to be trying to be more in the massive/serum type? Vital seems to be more of an out of the box “thick bass/lead” vs phaseplant is going for complexity
Are you sure that's a valid comparison? Phase Plant already has lots more possibilities for synthesis types within it, no? You COULD however compare Vital to Serum... Phase Plant seems closer to Pigments in capabilities...

To me, on paper, Phaseplant should take the cake - the endless possibilities to modulate generators and effects are incredible. But idk, it just doesn't impress me sonically with what I can make or what I'm hearing from the youtubers that I follow compared to Vital, Serum, Zebra, Omnisphere, etc. The filters and effects are just meh - extremely modulatable - but meh nonetheless. If I could just use one word to describe my overall impression of the sound of Phaseplant, and of course this is highly subjective, it would be "antiseptic".
i don't know phaseplant but what is surprising with vital it is extremely easy to use compared to its capabilities. So it is always possible to make "more complexe" vst with more possibilities but the question is : ARE THEY EASY TO USE ???
