Or who also a Damn good drummer and Lead Vocalist. Triumph had that too, and why their Harmony Vocals were over the top.

Yep you got some lead singers that you know they play rhythm guitar, they might be a decent singer but they're mediocre at the guitar, or they might be a mediocre singer and halfway decent on the guitar, it's super rare to find somebody that can nail them both Rik Emmett does that.

Guess who went to see Triumph the same day she got out of the hospital from a tonsillectomy? This 17 year old (1983). Guess who got re-admitted to the hospital directly after the concert due to bleeding and a severely swollen throat? Yup and it was totally worth it!

Triumph is one of the most underrated rock bands to ever come out of Canada. They are right there with Rush. Why they are not in the Hall of Fame is an embarrassment to Rock music. Rick Emmet isThe most underrated guitarist ever. I have not seen them in concert but wished I could see them do Magic Power. Rick sings his heart out for their music. It comes out in this song. Thanks for Lay it on the line and Fight the Good Fight! It is great to see some 20 somethings enjoying and appreciating their talents of this power trio. Energy should have been the Band title.

I saw Triumph play to a half empty Baltimore Civic Center back in the '80's during a near blizzard. We thought for sure the show would be cancelled, but the band said since we were all there, the show will go on. And what a show it was. Hard to believe it was only three guys on stage making all of this sound. Killer light show too! (By the way, when the show was over and we walked outside the snow was crazy! What normally took a 45 minute drive home took close to four hours. Another one of 'those shows' I'll never forget.)

I have never seen another human being who looks more like me than Rick Emmet. Hair and all is 100% the same. Facial structure, basic body type. Ridiculous.
Haven't heard this song in decades. Awesome.

Back in the day, this song was played ALL THE FRICKIN' TIME. Talented band no doubt but always played second fiddle to Rush. I know you guys say you've heard a lot... Janes Addiction? The Stooges? Velvet Underground? Husker Du, New York Dolls? There's tons of music out there I bet you haven't heard... just a guess.

Hey, new subscriber here. Enjoy watching you discover Boomer music, lol.
You should do "One Fine Morning" (1972) by Lighthouse, a largely forgotten Canadian band.
Also, look up details for one of it's members, Howard Shore, You might be very surprised.

Love these guys so much, yeah, amazing how many people missed them in the 80s and 90s... Allied Forces is my favorite album, just brilliant from start to finish. Magic Power, Fight the Good Fight... the drummer Gil also sings lead on a few tracks, also a fantastic singer, as you can hear from all three of them with those harmonies.

Saw Triumph in 83' at the US Festival and have been a fan ever since. Great musicians and very under rated band. A lot of people called them the poor man's RUSH because they came out after them and were also a trio. Their music is not like RUSH it stands on it's own. Always thought they never got the credit they deserved.

Unfortunately a lot of Canadian bands especially back then got stuck behind the 'Maple Curtain " because the US stations didn't want to play Canadian music.
I think you have done some Rush. I suggest Rush Working Man live in Cleveland. Geddy Lee who is the bass/keyboard player is also the vocalist. Also, Xanadu from Exit Stage Left where both Geddy and Alex are playing double neck guitars. Actually Geddy's is bass/guitar.
    Other Canadian bands.
The Tragedy Hip New Orleans is Sinking.
April Wine I like to rock
    The Guess Who American Woman
The Tea Party The Grande Bazaar
    Cheers 🇨🇦✌

TRIUMPH was HUGE in the USA back in the late 70's early 80's, I watched them om MTV ALL THE TIME back in 1982!.......I think people gave them a dirty deal thinking they were trying to be another RUSH but I disagree 100%. The only similarities to me were they were a 3 piece band.

This was way before you three were even a thought if you know what I mean! That particular era was freaking awesome, of course, April Wine and rush started 4 years ahead of Triumph. In the mid, to late '70s and '80s they were played on the radio quite a bit in Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado. If you liked this one song then you should check out their debut album self titled 1976, and the Rock and Roll Machine 1977 album pure awesomeness and power, or jump to 1980 Progressions of Power
