Just found out minutes ago that my wonderful Uncle Curt passed away yesterday (on St. Patrick's Day). Just saw him less than 2 weeks ago at a sweet party that his son/my cousin threw for him. ALS is a very cruel monster.
My uncle is the reason for so many things I like today, including classic rock...and this song is for him today. Shine on, Big Uncle Curt...I love you so much...

Later this month we're having a huge blowout party for both to remember Uncle Curt while we also celebrate his sister. His son is setting it up and it will be in true Big Curt-style!

fishinsolitude.. Such an amazing descriptive of my deepest feelings.... Music propels me into my days, and eases me into sleep - my mind usually has one song or another cooking on the back burner. I grasp at songs as one would grasp at a lifeline. I suppose it IS my lifeline! I truly am baffled when people aren't as affected by music as I.., I dissect parts of songs in my mind, - Nick's drumming, Richard Parry's sax, etc.. - then I loop it all back together. That is how I hear it... I just love all the facets of song....

I saw Pink Floyd back in 1977 at Jeppeson stadium here in Houston , it rained and we all got covered in mud but we did care I was 21 I'm now 62 those where the best years of my life when my eyes shined like the sun.

I came home from work one night around 11:15pm and Kay had a Pink Floyd concert going full blast. This was playing when I walked in and it surprised me that she liked this kind of music since she was so much older than me. That was when I learned we were on the same page with our music. Thank you for allowing us this beautiful music and precious memories. Priceless!

i saw this live as a kid and as a super sensitive kid, as my dad brought me there to the concert i could feel the passion and pain in his fingers as he played and to this day this song makes me cry. i hate lost know Jesus my friends its never to late =(

CoverEdit01 what I heard and read what that when they were recording this song that there was a weird guy hanging around the studio and they realized after the fact it was actually him and they hadn't recognized him. So sad. Again, not sure if it is entirely true.

When they were recording this album, the band was lost. Syd was off and just out of touch with reality. This song is not only about him but dedicated to him.

I don't know what it is with this song, but no other band can give me the feelings they do. Pink Floyd touches me deep, especially Rick's and David's emotional playing.

People can say all they want about Dark Side of The Moon, but THIS is still my favorite Floyd song, and, "Wish You Were Here" is still my favorite Floyd Album.

When listening to friends or family about the greatest guitar players ever I respectfully listen to their opinions. I agree with much of what they say..yes Hendrix, Page,Clapton and Beck and so on are always mentioned..but when I remind them of Gilmore's brilliance..there's always a very short pause and an agreement..oh..right ..yes he's definitely one of the best.

This, this song reminds me of my first love and really my only love, James. I lost him to drugs...way, way, to soon. I have never and will never love no one like him. It still hurts everyday. I think I'm ok and then...something, something that may have been small reminds me again. Silly thing is he resembled David Gilmour so much, but bless him..."he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket" as they say. He couldn't play the guitar either. He had this way about him that could make anyone feeling bad, feel better. This always made us laugh. He'd always try to sing along to me with our favor radio songs.❤😢💔
