Very beautifully done! I think it may have had some flat glass over the top, else I don't think cups or mugs would stand on the design...probably also to protect the wood from spills... Perhaps clear perspex would do it?

That looks like something I could have bought at Pier One Imports in the 1970s and 80s. The tabletop split because it was rigidly attached to the base. It needs to be "floating" (by using wallowed-out screw holes, for example) to allow expansion and contraction differences between the two surfaces. Looks good!

It's potential could be seen even when it was a wreck, the carving was beautiful, but it took a lot of hard work and know how to get it up to standard. Well worth restoring, you made a lovely job of it.
