You pick up the Mantis quest by looting bodies for a slate called "Secret Outpost" at Nova Galactic Staryard during the constellation quest "The Old Neighborhood" early game. If you miss it, the spacers and the slate reset later so you can go back and get it.
There is room for improvement. I suggest using Stroud landing bay instead of Nova one. Allows you to make ship thinner. Also Deimos flat docker below your 1x1 hab saves a lot of space. You can go even smaller by using a smaller cockpit. As for landing gear either go taiyo mid for 1 thrust and small space or go for stroud for 2 thrust and one full square. Only 1 landing thurst will require you to keep mass below 200.
Nice build, my small ship is 28x20 and has max everything class c 150 max speed 550 shielded cargo and 400 fuel, i use nova landing gear and bay taiyo landing gear for the back the ones that look like engines, hopetech cockpit and white dwarf engins, i merged the grav/engines and reactor and stacked all weapons on landing gear and landing bay paint black called the gnat
@@allergychime I'm gonna make it, what you should do is steal ships, fill their cargo holds then make this ship your home. Keep repeating and all the cargo holds will stack to your home ship.

I agree. If I had more credits I would have done the docker on the bottom but I just wanted to make the video so bad xD
The nova landing bay is the thinnest, the stroud landing bay is a side mount, would make build wider,
I really like the viking cockpit kinda fallen in love with using that.

14x10 is 28x20 nice build this is the smalles size i have built or seen anyone else build if its possible to be smaller idk how
