Building your own ship to fit your character is truly an amazing feature of this game. I always find myself end up with the biggest and meanest ship that fly at the speed of turtle XD
I just built my first custom ship from the ground up last night. It’s pretty slow but it’s heavily armored and shielded and it’s got a good amount of fire power. I’m having fun playing around with the ship editer now that I have the appropriate skills.
Hey, nothing wrong with a slower more bulky ship. If you haven't already, invest in turret weapons, they will keep the pressure on even when you can't focus your main weapons on your target
@@zachprynn2545 I agree, a lot of the time you don't need a fast ship, especially in combat where a fast ship can make it hard to keep a target on an enemy.

Very nice! This thing is sooo fast! For me, I would replace the All-In-One with a HopeTech Armoury, which gives us a Brig to carry prisoners. Now you can use the bed in the Brig as well, but if you still need living quarters, replace the engine mounts with a HopeTech All-In-One for that Space-Dawg look
I think replacing the braces might also save a bit on weight, or at least be just as light? I just remember that all the structure pieces are quite heavy for how little they offer, and I don't touch any of them except the weapon and utility mounts.

I'm putting in my vote for a Psyker build. mainly using the 'manipulation' type skills at the bottom of the social tree. I went with the sculptor background because it gives you Medicine and Persuasion to start. I roleplay that he used to be a famous sculptor until a degenerative disease took his eyesight, in a desperate move he signed up for an experimental treatment which was actually a front for them to experiment with injecting terrormorph dna into a human (Alien DNA trait), which is the source of hi psychic abilities. to round him out i went with the Empath and Extrovert traits. Also lasers.
I love it!!! Been watching you guys for years now and you never disappoint. I couldn't wait for Starfield to release and now that it has I've been loving all the vids you guys make. Keep up the good work looking forward to seeing everything you come up with. 😊
I just built a slimmed-down Class B version of this. Managed to cram 4x particle cannons, 2x missile launchers, and 1x EMP weapon on it. 100 mob and 180 speed, but less fuel than your build. Very fun to fly. Thank you for the great guide. Subscribed.
For anyone wondering you can buy the landing gear at hopetown at lvl 15 and starship design rank 1. Or at the beginning of the game you can board one of the crimsion fleet ghost ships that attack you and take it. It cost about 4500 to register and comes with two of the hopetech landing gears as well as the cockpit and bay that is in this build. Then once you hit the requirements for more of the landing gears go to hopetown and copy the ones you have so theyll have the same paint job. You could rp as your character is wanting a ship that reminds them of one they lost or one they planned to build before working for argos.
My first character was a Bounty hunter, and I ended up doing the Mantis quest pretty early. I fell in love with the Razorleaf because it was almost exactly what I wanted to make, small-ish with a cabin to sleep in with an armory for her weapons, made some modifications to it and boom it's a fast hard hitting ship with a story.
A bounty hunter ship has to have a brig, so you definitely have to go with the larger design. You can go with the Hopetech Amory 2x1 instead of the 2x2, which suprisingly enough, also has a brig cell! And the Bounty Hunter should have only 2 weapon systems, 12 bars of auto-PARs to get multifunction attacks(shield&hull at the same time), and EM weapons to disable a ship so you can take in your bounty alive if that is what the bounty calls for.
just started a bounty hunter build this is will be perfect once i get the lvls! drifting around asteroids while fighting ppl is prob the one coolest things ship battles can provide IMO
Love this build so much. Maybe I missed it, but one thing that would be cool in these videos is to get a ballpark of the credit cost of building the ship.
Definitively, ship building is so cool but requieres a lot of money. So this shipbuilding should be tied to the bounty hunter build, due to the skills and money required to build this ship
Thanks for tips. Don’t bother too much with some harsh criticism I have seen in the commentary section. There is always room for improvement but I found pacing and explanation well done.
Neat build. The Crimson Fleet Ghost was the basis for my Bounty Hunter's first ship. Totally fits the "fringes of space, grey morality, bounty hunter" vibe.
Built this ship lastnight its awesome, I was able to squeeze 2 more weapon mounts out by using the deimos spine c aft it has s angled and one top so you can mount weapons lower closer to the cockpit.
Great build! This is my new daily driver with some tweaks to fit how I play. I added an additional hab at the cost of adding 1x1 to the length of the ship. I have a captains quarters and on the second deck a Deimos armory for the brig. It has almost 1k in cargo space although I could probably trim it down or eliminate it altogether. It carries eight total guns plus some EM for boarding purposes. The only con if you could call it that is that mobility is between between 80-90 but it still runs fast. Based on how I fight the mobility isn't an issue. If I get into trouble I start kiting, no big deal.
This has become a design I always rebuild every NG+! The only modifications I do are Horizon weapon mounts on both sides of the landing bay and I change the Deimos spine behind the cockpit to the one with 3 weapon mounts. This way you can stack on as many weapons as you need while retaining the 3 engine build. I really hope you put out some more ship build videos!
I love how this one looks with the big landing gears, somewhat stubby nose ... I rebuild it and the only thing I changed was the engines ... now for that ng+ bounty hunter run ^^
your bounty hunter build wears the exact same armor, helmet and boost pack as my bounty hunter character glad to see someone though the same thing with its cool design.
You've done a Freestar gunslinger, a Crimson Fleet pirate and soon a bounty hunter. Can't wait to see what's next. My most recent playthrough's been what I've been calling my "Vanguard Swashbuckler" - a melee weapon build with a UC cutlass and a pistol for backup (or Terrormorphs. Seriously, don't fight those things in melee. ) And for a ship, I modified a Deimos Phalanx-class, slapped a class C reactor on it and gave it laser turrets for stripping shields, railguns for shredding the small fry and EM suppressors for taking ships as prizes.
Ths might be my favorite starfield build. till now my approach to space combat has been build a massive ship and load it up with most op weapons since it felt like enemies had aim bot. but with a fast ship i can actually dog fight! wow.
I say this as a really positive thing: this ship is basically just a souped-up version of the Crimson Fleet Ghost in the best way! I think that ship is the perfect base for this ship to be built from and most of all, it means it fits perfectly with the designs in Starfield!
Epic build! I have been waiting for someone to showcase more custom "star wars inspired" designs, instead of just making the Razor Crest or Millennium Falcon. This reminds me of so many of the Old Republic ships from Tales of the Jedi
I'm not sure whose designs I like more- yours or the ones Morphologis makes. Given that he's a professional architect in real life I think that's a pretty big compliment for you guys.
I liked your comment about the prisoner attempting to bribe you to release them. I think it would be very interesting if the NPC could do a roll check of sorts where they use their Level 4 Persuasion against you to release them.
The Nova Galactic Captain's Quarters give you a bed, a galley, and a massive 150kg storage chest. I agree with the vibe of the Armstrong cockpit, a small ship should be as compact as possible.
I just got the biggest smile when I heard you say “Narshada”. If I’m remembering correctly that’s from the KOTOR series. The first games that got me into loving RPGs so many years ago
Can't wait to be able to have the money, building one and call it "V4LS Trax". I'm a big fan of MH, so when I begin playing Starfield, I was excited to be able to craft this.
I love that you can out as many of the same weapon on your shop as you want because I put like 12 machine guns on mine and it's like a A10warthog when I shoot lol
Really dig the look and feel of this. I just hit NG+2 which is where I'm settling in to stay, so I'm looking forward to digging into ship building and outposts.

The ship building system has me soooo happy, and I was so intimidated by it at first, your pirate ship guide cracked the code for me, and got me to invest some serious hours in the starship workshop! lol, another great video!
I am doing kind of the bounty hunter build, I first tried the Goliath ship build, amazing, but I had to try this one and... soooo satisfying !!! The speed and mobility !!!! I did it to took my revenge on the Camulus... sadly the quest bugged out and I cannot find the ship anymore... 😢
I scuttled my Discovery noob ship, kept its 2in1 unique hab as the core to this ship. Kept it at Class A. Such a fun nimble little pocket rocket to fly.
great looking ship. You do have room for 2 vertical weapon mounts on the front sides of the landing bay though, so you could add in some missiles or EM weapons if desired.
I love how @FudgeMuppet was able to predict Modders adding functionality to brigs and opening up Bounty Hunter RP. Useful brigs paired with Non-Lethal Framework plus the patch for them makes for a fairly vanilla experience. =)
Great video! I usually fly the Mantis. I like the armory and have filled it out with legendary or unique weapons. I wish they wouldn't all be moved to storage though anytime I mess with the ship.
I fit out first the Razorleaf, and then a Mako, to be my fighter class. But I want to try out this build now. With my Mako showing Speed 180, I was very happy with that.
Offset is nice. Like idea of the roleplaying brig, but just to make it more functional for the game without straying to far, maybe a command center for more crew slots, giving you more boosts with added crews for skills in dogfighting.
There is a 2x1 brig in the game also. I thing it was the Daimos Armory. But don't quote me. My only issue with it is that it has weapon storage 3 feet from the holding cell.
The 2x1 Taiyo Armory and HopeTech Armory both have a brig cell. All of the other brigs are 2x2 (I think there is a 2x3 somewhere?) Now if the brig were actually USED for bounty hunting missions - that would be awesome.
Instead of an all-in-one, living quarters, or captain's quarters, you can use a Hopetech or Taiyo armory. Those actually have beds in the armory. So every time you head out for a mission, you also get to look at the things on your way.
At first I was shocked when I read this, but looking at the armory habs you mention made me realize you could sleep in the mini brig in those habs. For some reason it just didn’t click before that that’s a practical bed, instead of just aesthetic.
Had one other thought about your larger bounty hunter ship. From an RP perspective, it might be better to use another landing bay with a horizontal ship entry and put your brig and docking collar on the same level. My reasoning is that it's very hard to control someone hostile when they're using a ladder or when you are. So from a security perspective you'd want to walk him up the ramp, into the ship, and into a cell without removing restraints. If possible you'd want to enter directly into the brig room and have the docking collar connected to the same room in case you're bringing a prisoner from a station. As you said, this isn't a thing in the game, but you designed your ship because in your head, that's your character in the game. And that character probably doesn't want to get kicked in the face as he follows a prisoner up a ladder. Just a thought to keep in mind for ship design.
Spent some time putting this together today. Had to make some changes, I fly first person and that cockpit is awful for visibility, I swapped it for the samurai enhanced and then swapped the spine b for a nova cowling 1L-TF. Looks pretty sweet and no obstructions in the cockpit, also has a bit more space for the crew.
Cool ship designs. This really gives me some ideas as I think about my character's ultimate ship and slowly level up piloting and ship design. My character is definitely going to have an armory, so I won't be following your build exactly. I do love the effort and thought you put into personalizing your ship builds.
I Liked the design of this ship, so I built one. However, as your skills advance more bits become available so I made a few changes (equipment rather than aesthetics). First I fitted a class B reactor as there are clas B models with more power than the class C you fitted (albeit you can't use C class weapons) but you need Ship Command 4 and Design 4 to fit them so they are a later game module. However this opened a space between the rear landing legs allowing a pair of sheilded cargo pods to be fitted, remving the one from the side, with the removal of the side cargo pod I fitted a porthole so I could enjoy the view on my downtime. I also fitted a couple of weapon mounts on either side of the landing bay and mounted 4 PB-175's to them. I fitted 3 Pulse lasers (one either side the fore nova bracer and one on top of the nova spine) to complete the armament. I used the rear nova bracer to take equipment like the comspike, and conduction grid. Have VASCO as crew / companion and you get just enough reactor points to run everything. Great design I think it will be one I will use going forward.

@@daedalus1 agreed. I had visions of hauling an unconscious body back to my ship while fending off the wildlife with a pistol. Oh well.
@@OmegaUberDeathbot We can dream! Or hope modders get it working.
@@daedalus1 it would have to be from scratch. I don’t think Bethesda games have had that before.
Vasco always rides around with you and your ship so it could say Vasco will retrieve your captured prisoner when it's safe
Really like this builds can see me using this ship design
Nice job, Fudge!
Quick tip, but if you change the Hab to a 2x1 Hope Tech Armory, you can still have a brig on the smaller variants (as well as still having a bed)
Cool ship designs. This really gives me some ideas as I think about my character's ultimate ship and slowly level up piloting and ship design. My character is definitely going to have an armory, so I won't be following your build exactly. I do love the effort and thought you put into personalizing your ship builds.
FACTS - RP reasons and looks outweigh actual performance
But when ALL 3 come together
Priceless
Such a dope looking ship!
The Nova unique vendor has landing gear that gives you 4 thrust for 1 slot. It still weighs 4 for 4 thrust, but it allows you to build smaller.
Cool can't wait to see the Bounty Hunter build great work as always
