I'm actually planning on rebuilding the Razorleaf to use as an alternative to my current main C-Class ship, but I want to rebuild it so that it still has the general shape of the Razorleaf, but bigger, more or less.
I like your clear, nicely-paced build instructions. As to changes to Shipbuilder, I want the ability to 'block' (and 'unblock', should I wish to rearrange things) all hab access points, i.e. doors, ceilings and floors. That would give me full control of door and ladder placement.
That would be awesome. I believe there is a mod that lets you control door placement. You can also somewhat control ladder placement as well. I go over that in my Vengeance MKII video.
I used the Razorleaf as the base ; really nice ship and clear and concise instructions. I don't know how long it takes you to do one of these but appreciate very much that you do take that time.
Tip: You can double-click the ship / select all to delete everything at once. Camera reset would be a fantastic improvement to the builder. Since you asked... Starship Builder Wishlist Save a "project" ship in an unfinished state. Store and access of items across ships in the builder. So you could "scavenge together" from multiple ships. (If you got a ship with a good reactor, and another ship with a good grav drive, you could use both on a new ship you're building.)
I remembered the double click and delete about halfway though deleting all the parts.. though something satisfying about deleting it all at once. A "Save Project" would be awesome! Maybe in a DLC they will let us build a staryard where we can park ships in progress. A scavenge option would be interesting as well. I would also like to see all parts flipable in all directions, and all parts are able to be colored.

One ship builder improvement that I’d like to see is the ability to place doors and ladders where you want them WITHOUT USING MODS. Several of my vanilla game ship designs were a complete mess on the interior layouts despite how I thought the layouts should have been implemented.
I agree that it should be in the game without using mods. I like the mod, but its a little tedious, especially if you build a big ship. My thought was we could toggle each hookpoint on/off (default is off) to say "door/ladder/passage".

Amazing ship man, but honestly, no matter the manufacturer, using hull pieces is a huge waste of space. If it's the size of any sort of hab piece, the hab piece goes in there. Creates more hull strength and potentially more room for passengers and crew members for mission board and ship statistic purposes. I do, howerver, use decorative and useful structural pieces, like wings or parts that can hold weapons, just no filler hull pieces like you have in the back on either side of the grav drive, fuel tank or docker.
Good point. You do get more hull strength from the 1x1 vs a Hull A. They weigh slightly more (5 mass vs 3) but I don't know if that would make too much of a difference. They do not add any crew or passenger spots though. Best habs for crew are the Battle Station, Control Station, and the computer cores. For passengers, living stations and all in ones will add those. Also, you probably should not look at my Banshee build. I used 10 Stroud mid bracers on that one (it was a joke build anyway...)
@@TeamScorpioRI DOH! lol.. I remove most Stroud pieces like that for sure. They're on most ships you pirate or even buy. There's definitely no passenger room with the 1x1s and I don't necessarily mean changing this ship's hull pieces to hab pieces, just in general, I go hab with hull strength over straight hull piece by default.
Not bad. But having those breaking thrusters above and close to the cockpit with the weapon mounts in front of it is a technical questionable choice. Would rather replace those with something else.
It was more of an esthetic choice than anything. I was going for more of an "engine intake" look than a breaking engine (honestly not sure if they even have functionality to them). You could swap those for some of the Deimos Cowlings, or mix in some Stroud nose caps (though this was an all Deimos build).
@@TeamScorpioRI Well, if they're called breaking thrusters they'll work like those in the cutscenes. But what does a reactor powered space ship need engine air intakes for anyway? But it's valid for a purely aesthetic choice, considering how few options the ship builder still has.
