    Went to Home Depot and picked this up for $124.39 (tax added on) but will be going back there tomorrow to get my 10% off plus price match. Thanks for letting everyone know.
    I put it on the way you taught and have to tell you, I am amazed how strong the water pressure is without taking out the restricter. But my main problem right now is that it's leaking (spraying) water from the black part of the connector of the main part that connects to the shower itself. I don't have a lot of time to look at it tonight, so will probably look at it when I return home tomorrow evening, but what could it be. It's so bad that the whole shower head (main part) turns like a clock and yes, ends up upside down sometimes. WTH? Thank you for your time in making the video. So, so, so much appreciated!

    • @Striker50_
      @Striker50_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Let's goooo 🙌
      Home Depot price matches Costco?
      Consider hitting it with a wrench and put the plumber tape if you haven't already

  • @fannyfreckle

    THANK YOU SO MUCH, STRIKER! I loved that this was stress free and so fast.
    FYI
    1. This guy is a natural at instruction videos. He even tells you what direction to put the plumbers tape on and points out that the hose connectors are lightweight so don’t over tighten. He just hits on all pertinent little details.
    2. Watched the video, and installation was EASY!
    3. WATER RESTRICTOR: Only complication is that the restrictor is not removable in newest version. Notice his has a hole in the middle? New ones don’t. I tried every tool I could, and finally, I used an exact-o knife and hammer to chisel the around the center circle of the restrictor and did get that out. Since this did the trick and opened the flow, I didn’t worry about the side of the restrictor. Shower has great water flow now!
    4. This was a great shower head, worth it even at $99 (but mine was on sale for $79). It’s so nice to be able to spray the whole shower down at the end. I think it will make cleaning the glass door a lot easier too.

      aw damn, I wonder why they made the restrictor much more difficult to remove? What does Kholer care if you remove the flow restrictor or not? Maybe it's a new mandate to make them more difficult to remove across the board with all manufactures, I dunno. Luckily I got it from Costco so I guess I'll just return it, that sucker really doesn't want to come out and I don't have many tools around.

      Also: It would be a very helpful to get a secondary adhesive magnet, so that you can mount the secondary head lower as I find it to be too high for my liking (sprays around my upper shoulders)

    Thanks for the video! Bought and installed today. I couldn’t get the screen out never mind the restrictor so figured I’d try it out first as is and pressure seems really good actually.
    My concern - the entire head moves around so much when you pull the hand held unit off since the magnet is so strong. Just me? My install is tight and leak free. Worried this is a disaster waiting to happen as it’s in the kids’ bathroom.

    • @Striker50_
      @Striker50_  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, the pressure is fine on its own
      Mine moves around as well which is good that they have a quality magnet but I could imagine the little ones tugging on it and it breaking or something. Perhaps an adhesive hook or magnet can allow you to place the secondary head lower where it's within reach? Is that the concern you're trying to solve? Or is it more with the concern that it may fall on them from becoming loose

    • @joannelee8943
      @joannelee8943 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @clairepickering6044 and @Striker50_ It shouldn't rotate/wiggle. Once you've secured the main shower head to the wall in place with a wrench.... rotate the main shower head clockwise with your hands gently with out the handheld attachment. You should see the black plastic ring rotate with the shower head. The head will start to get hard to rotate and be gentle and keep pushing clockwise till it locks into place and align so the shower head isn't lop sided.
      And thanks @Striker50_ , I thought I had taken out the whole restrictor but had left the yellow one in there over a year. Was kind of hard to get out and still have outer the ring of the yellow in it but the pressure is much better now.

    Good vid! Question: How did you go about getting your shower door and walls? Did you go thru a contractor for 10-15k, did you go thru Home Depot/Lowes or did you do it all yourself? HOLY MOLY!!!! Tile was hired work done a few years ago ; the shower door we did a self-install. Needed 2 people at times. The doors are a Kholer set in the $400ish range, and installation was a bit tricky but nothing out of the ordinary. Main challenges were cutting the metal beams just slightly for perfect fit. Then masonry drill bits to drill through the tile, and working with silicone to finish it all off.

      I noticed that as well, it slightly floats around if moving the bottom hose.I feel that may be incorporated into the design to give it some slack in case the bottom hose is yanked it's less likely to damage the top connection. (Think of a kid or elder laying in the bath tub and yanking on the hose. It'll swivel instead of causing damage). That's my theory anyway. It's an inconvenience, but I don't see a way to tighten it
      Congrats on the deal though $65 is the lowest I've seen it

    • @xXNitemareXx

      I rotated the entire unit clockwise, slowly, and not forcefully, and it tightened the entire thing right up! Mine does not move at all when I pull the lower wand off the housing. In fact, this was the only way I could get the nut to tighten fully onto the pipe. The husband bought one for his mom and same deal. Couldn't fully lock down the nut onto the pipe and the whole unit swivels so easily, it'll knock the nut loose too! I told him to rotate the entire unit clockwise, and it stopped swiveling. This is how you get this shower head to become stationary. Hope that helps!

    Great video, thanks so much for explaining this in such great detail! Just curious...you removed three parts: the screen w/rubber gasket, an o-ring and a plastic piece which the o-ring sat on top of. I know I should remove the o-ring to increase water pressure and the screen w/rubber gasket should be reinstalled to eliminate any leaks. But what about the plastic part on which the o-ring sat? Does that stay removed as well and not reinstalled? Thanks!

      Thanks for taking the time to reach out: I Removed all 3 pieces. The white piece, the smaller o-ring, and the yellow restrictor
      The only thing I put back was the 4th item, the screen gasket.
      Looking back at the video, 4:51 if just the smaller o-ring and white piece were removed, and the yellow part, and screen with gasket were added back, I am sure it would increase pressure, granted not to the complete unrestricted potential.

The main reason I wanted a new shower head duo (we already have a similar setup) is because it has become a bit difficult to re-dock our current supplemental shower head, which must be placed "just so" into it's docking station. Looking at your video, I am a bit concerned about how strong the magnet head is on the Kohler. It might also be hard to re-dock since it has such a strong magnet.. With both heads flowing, it's perfect (for me)
      A compromise is that when you remove the mesh screen with rubber gasket, you can drill a hole into the yellow restrictor, instead of removing the entire thing, so that may help you meet your sweet spot 🙌

    I appreciate how easily everything worked out for you. I had the opposite experience. I gently pulled upward on the screen mesh aerator with a dental pick and promptly put a hole in it. I tenderly tried to pluck out the restrictor but it was stubborn so I used three drill bits with increasing diameter. I only removed the center of the restrictor as it nearly matches the footprint of the rubber gasket holding the aerator. Then I carefully inspected for plastic debris and remounted it. It has much more water pressure and I have much less respect for water conservation-minded nanny state officials. Thanks for nothing, Kholer, for bending the knee to Kalifornia.

    • @Striker50_
      @Striker50_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The restrictor was definitely a challenge to remove, at least that says something about the good build quality. I've seen other brand restrictors pop off much too easy. As for the restrictor in play, more california, but rather most of the Southwest. As a company, I'm sure it is much easier to ship across the entire us with the filter on all units

    Very good video. I bought this from Costco and after installing it I was very disappointed in the weak water flow. I followed your advice on how to remove the restricter. Try as I might, it refused to budge. Dilemma because I didn’t want to put it back together and take it back to Costco. Ultimately drilled the plastic restricter out carefully with 4 increased sized drill bits and it works great now. Special thanks to all the liberal whack jobs who ruined an otherwise great company by forcing them to comply with these crazy environmental mandates.

    • @Striker50_
      @Striker50_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that stubborn restrictor puts up a fight when removing! Drilling in a few holes with a drill bit is another great way to increase water pressure, but not to 100% such as when completely removed.
      Costco will virtually take back anything! Used to work there for a few years; I've seen people return 16 year old mattresses and 10 year engagement rings (albeit employees will give you the stink eye)
      Water bills in some of these desert regions add up, especially for larger households, but sounds like a pain when the entire country has to compromise. I may consider doing a video highlighting the difference in Gallons per Minute with & without the restrictor 🤔
