Seeing Banjo in Donkey Kong 64 just seems right
I used to confuse the worlds growing up. Love them both
I remember there was a school yard rumor that you could unlock Banjo to help the Kongs in DK 64. I wish it was true.
It's so sad to see how these two series suffered with the deterioration of Rare. Specifically Banjo.

Both have music from the cancelled Project Dream. Grant Kirkhope made sure not to let it go to waste. lol
I love the fact that Banjo suits so well in this game. Rare did an amazing job, such a shame they don't work with Nintendo anymore. Thanks for this fascinating video which reminded me of my preteen years in 1999.

The duo had to hit her about 15 times just to break her broomstick, but I'm sure Goggle-boy would send Grunty flying (without the broom, of course) by a single punch.

You are such a clever man with all of these ideas for dk isles. I just love your rom hacks man!
This is something I've been wondering about for a few months now. Ever since I last played DK64 and was irritated at how much you had to arbitrarily run back to a barrel to change characters, I've been asking myself - how much better would it play if you just had Banjo and Kazooie, and they learned all the necessary moves instead. They already have a gun (kinda) and instruments, they can fly, do ground pounds, can run super fast, jump super high and get extra traction for steep surfaces, so things like shrinking, turning invisible, and...erm... pulling levers could be new moves they could learn. So I'm really glad someone has done this now.
There is a rom hack for DK64 that fixes it. I did a review of it on my channel.
You really don't have to run back and forth if you do all the kongs task at once it's way easier

How about Grip Grab? One of several things Banjo couldn't do that Mario could.
It would be really cool if somehow they combined both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie so that the worlds from each game were accessible in one big game with bonus content.

When I was younger I'd always try to swim far into the ocean in treasure trove cove, i thought it would lead to dk's island lol
@Starscream91 To me, the Banjo-Kazooie series still share the same universe with the Donkey Kong series even if the former's owned by Microsoft. That's why it irks me every time I see DK in a "Super Mario" merchandise. I know Mario has a history with the Kongs starting with Cranky, but I find that odd as DK and his crew are NEVER playable in the core Super Mario series. 😕

I thought you'd just use Super Mario 64 levels, so this along with the Bomberman level is a nice change of pace!
You know, I was wondering what those jars are, but it looks like it's a quick way to remove Mumbo's magic. I'm not sure how you figured that out, but it adds an element to these puzzles.

It would be nice to see Banjo and Kazooie at DK64 levels, like Frantic Factory, Fungi Forest etc. and with the enemies and bosses of the DK64 itself. In an adventure where Gruntilda and K. Roll were united in an evil plan.
