      @ThxGod It'sOver What is this copy-paste BS? who colonized Egypt? The people there now are the same race as the people in ancient times. Following the Arab conquest of Egypt, they only lost their religion, nothing more. Egyptians continued speaking the Egyptian language up until a few hundred years ago when the Ottomans took it over, then they fully adopted Arabic. I think I know what you're trying to get at here and the ancient Egyptians were not black.. this is pretty evident. Also when ancient Greek explorers came, they didn't encounter any black people until they reached Ethiopia, which at the time, just meant anywhere south of Egypt. Look up the origin of the name "Ethiopia" and you will see what its name means. It would make no sense for it to have this name if Egypt was black too.

      @@Aethelvlad I agree with you in an essential aspect, but do not forget that Christ came to spread the knowledge of the Kingdom of God. A kingdom has a King, jurisdiction, law, hierarchy, ministeries, due process, tradition, an official language, a capital, history...
      It has a FOUNDATION IN STONE. That foundation is the Authority given to Peter and the institution of the Papacy.
      If you believe in the Bible, you must necesarily believe the church that MADE the Biblical Cannon was INSPIRED. And that church, that took 400 years to make the Bible a reality, had a Roman Sede, marian dogmas, eucharist, altar and the once and eternal Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
      It's understandable it takes time and hard work to understand the Christian faith and it's history, but rejecting knowledge and neglecting research to preserve our bias (or because of lazyness) won't be a valid argument during judgement day.
      The revelation warns of a False Prophet and the prostitute, and it clearly symbolices the Roman Catholic Church. Does this mean RC is evil or false? No, it means that the False Prophet has to come from a legitimate church. Roman Catholicism wouldn't be in the BIBLE if it was just another Christian denomination.
      Do your research on the Early Church and read the commentaries of Saint Ignacious of Anthioch, amongst others... TRADITIONAL ROMAN CATHOLICISM (pre Vatican II council) is the perfect form of the Christian Faith.

      @@srfrg9707 As a Catholic, that would be nice.
      A system like that in the early Church would be great I think. The Patriarchs being more like a brotherhood, with the Pope's authority being just the privilege of sitting in the nicest chair in the Ecumenical Council, and not much more than that.
      I feel it's unacceptable that the two most important Patriarchs in the Christian Church (Rome and Constantinople) are not together.
      This statement from Pope John Paul II illustrates it perfectly: "The Church *must* breathe with her two lungs"

    • @srfrg9707
      @srfrg9707 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@crusaderACR Despite what most people think the two most important patriarchates are neither Rome and Constantinople. It's Jerusalem and Antioch. Jerusalem because Jesus promised "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 This means, in my modest opinion, that the Church of Jerusalem will last until the day of judgment since it will occur only after the Gospel has reached all places on the earth.
      Therefore any Church that is not in communion with the Patriarch of Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria is in big trouble.
      The other most important is the Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East, because that's where saint Peter founded the Church. It's therefore the fist in the chronological order despite being the last in the protocol. Jesus promised to Peter that the doors of hell will not prevail but also that the last will be the first. That means that despite being the last in the protocol it is the first in God's own hierarchy and since it was the first it will play an important role in the last times.
      On the other hand Rome and Constantinople were the political capitals of the roman empire and that's where their importance come from rather than from their holiness. In reality the Patriarch of Constantinople has not even 4000 sheep left and is hostage of the Turks. Rome is more concerned by accommodating to the temporal world than following Christ. No disrespect intended.

    • @crusaderACR
      @crusaderACR ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@srfrg9707 In the very early Christian Church, before Constantinople even existed, that may have been the case.
      But not since the First Council of Constantinople. A council recognized by the Catholics and the Orthodox, that happened in the 4th century so way before the schism. In fact, it's recognized by Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, Anglicans and even Calvinists!
      Specifically, the Third Canon, which reads:
      "The Bishop of Constantinople, however, shall have the prerogative of honour after the Bishop of Rome, because Constantinople is New Rome."
      This was indeed controversial because it dethroned Alexandria as the second, and put Constantinople right after (Old) Rome.
      The Bishop of Rome (the title Pope wasn't used yet) complained about the part "because Constantinople is the New Rome" which, as you say, implied the reasons to be earthly in nature, and went as far as to claim that part was added without his knowledge. Apparently it wasn't, it was likely just language barriers.
      Everyone complained about many things, but note that *no one* complained about it taking Rome as *first* Prerogative of Honor. In fact, the Canon *assumes* it as an established notion.
      In the early Church it just meant the fanciest chair in any Council is for the Bishop of Rome, and the second fanciest to Constantinople, and no powers beyond that.
      But it still leaves the fact: *Rome and Constantinople ARE the MOST important Apostolic Sees.*
      Which again, brings back the tragedy of both Apostolic seats to be divided.

    • @srfrg9707
      @srfrg9707 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@crusaderACR "... because Constantinople is New Rome" Exactly what I said. That's protocol order, not sanctity.
      They are important because those were the capitals. The Roman empire exists no more.
      Christianity has nothing to do with the Roman empire. In Luke 22:24 Jesus told us that the temporal kings lord it over the nations and justify their authority by calling themselves benefactors.
      He gave that example to tell us not to be like them bur rather to be servants of each other and honor the last more than the first.
      You Roman Catholics are told to do the exact opposite, to submit to the Roman Pontiff because he's a benefactor (Unam Sacram).
      We have also many orthodox who behave the same way and need a human monarch to feel good. That's why God punished us by giving us the sultans as monarchs. The lesson was rude and some haven't learn it yet and still dream about reestablishing a new Basileus. We need to listen to Christ rather than following our own human thoughts.

      Pope Francis is looking for allies to reel in for his 'climate change' and immigration agendas. If he succeeds, it will not work out well for the Orthodox. History will only repeat itself. If you study the history, you will see that it was a very painful one, and the Orthodox suffered immeasurably.
      I'm Catholic but seriously considered becoming Orthodox largely because of the direction Pope Francis is leading the Church and the corruption, especially the pedophile ("Lavender") mafia operating at the highest levels of the Catholic hierarchy. Pope Francis not only shielded McCarrick but many others from prosecution. Don't get me wrong, the Orthodox have their internal problems, too, but teddy bear compared to the Roman corruption.
      In the end, I decided to stay Catholic because I believe the dogmas of faith to be the true, albeit it's not practiced nor taught by most of the clergy. Priests are more concerned about being liked by parishioners and not pissing off their bishops then being living examples of our Catechism.

      @@titati8227 Its good that you thought about dogma when you made the decision. It is really the most important thing when choosing papism or orthodoxy. However how could you ignore filioque? The saints who gathered to create the nicene creed, supported their beliefs by miracles and as a result we have to accept the creed of the holy fathers as the truthful one. Any addition or taking away from the creed would alter it. The Roman Catholic doctrine concerning the Holy Spirit is not as it should be. For in the original Nicean Creed (Council of Nicea 381 AD), agreed upon by the Holy fathers and protectors of God's Church, through the Holy Spirit (agreeing upon it as one and in the Spirit), it is written about the Holy Spirit: "..the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified..." Yet, when the catholic church ...changed what the creed said, and stated that the Holy Spirit " proceeds from the Father and the Son." Thus breaking the unity and equality of the Trinity by saying the Holy Spirit is less than the Father and the Son. This new saying is a heresy. For even Christ spoke of the Holy Spirit only proceeding from the Father:
      “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” (John 15:26) But in addition to the dogmatic issue raised by the filioque, the Byzantines argued that the word was added unilaterally and, therefore, illegitimately, since the East had never been consulted. In the final analysis, only another ecumenical council could make such an alteration. Besides, the councils which drew up the original Creed had expressly forbidden any subtraction or addition to the text. The West’s tampering with the major creedal formula of the Church is, therefore, unacceptable.

      The filioque was very much noticed before the schism. Pope Leo III officially banned it being added to the Creed and condemned the Libri Carolini. The Frankish missionaries in Bulgaria were accusing the Greeks of removing it from the Creed, and the Greeks were livid. There's a reason why it was never used in Rome until 1014, when even the city fell to the demonic teachings of the filioque, which seeks to usurp the doctrine of the Monarchy of the Father.
      The really obvious differences arose later with the West adopting Thomism, and the Council of Lyons, etc. After that there was no doubt that we were now two separate religions. If anything is political, it's the attepmts of "reunificiation", because we can unite with Rome as much as we can with Anglicans, Lutherans, or Calvinists, that is to say, it's impossible.

How we should approach this is to tolerate these extra things that do *not* go against Church orthodoxy. Does Immaculate Conception go against any Eastern Orthodox council? It does not, because it isn't even mentioned. So let's leave it as an aspect of a Particular Church, and if it is ever considered really important, we could just arrange a Council with everyone present, Eastern Orthodox included, and we go from there.
      Personally, I don't see any particular dealbreaker.
      Edit: Papal Primacy might be a dealbreaker. Oops. But I have a few ideas. One is to make a council (where both West and East attend) to make it so Primacy gets limitations/restrictions within the jurisdictions of the other Patriarchs, and keep it just for the Western Church.

Even the eastern churches that have come back into communion with the Holy See don't add the Filioque to the Nicene Creed. Saying that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father is okay. It’s Rome that literally cut itself off from the unity of the church by going off on their own to change the very creed that unites the faith of the Church. Rome defected from the Church, the Church itself never lost its oneness and purity.

If there is to be true unity, and for Rome to come back into communion with the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, they are the ones who have to make changes
