Dear Erik, please go to an actual orthopedist. They will do X-rays and physical exams to make sure you didn’t actually hurt yourself badly. I hurt myself after my new dog came home, having to carry him around, so YES, babies can easily do the same thing. A *good* chiropractor *should* do X-rays (or look at ones you have) to make sure you aren’t actually injured before they crack you.

@@snake.puppet as someone who has dealt with Piriformis Syndrome for about 15 years, I can definitely agree with this! For so many years I was going to doctors and all they would give me is a prescription to stronger naproxen.
Finally, I went to an orthopedist and he ordered MRIs and CT scans and then diagnosed me with piriformis syndrome. Also ordered like 2 months of PT and it all helped

Please be cautious about going to a chiropractor with back issues. I blew a disc when I was 18 when picking up my baby from her crib and the chiropractor made it worse. I went 8 years with excruciating back and leg pain along with drop foot but was told for 8 years "you're too young for back problems" until I lost all reflexes in my leg then they ordered an MRI and then I had surgery. I am now 45 and have underwent over 7 lumbar surgeries including fusions, both SI joints fused and I have my 6th cervical surgery in 2 weeks. So please see an Ortho or Neurologist and get imaging done because the faster they can treat you the better off you'll be in the long run. Good luck Erik!

I would (as someone who had a tonne of back pain that resulted in spinal surgery) recommend trying anti-inflammatories/muscle relaxants and rest to start. If he's not getting relief from that, going to a physio clinic that also has RMT's for back-to-back therapies. Then, if the extreme pain isn't gone within 6-8 weeks, requesting an MRI from a doctor. Most back pain will fix itself within 6-8 weeks without intervention (like surgery). Chiropractors made my back MUCH worse any time I tried to visit them.

ERIC! I have fought with back issues and muscle spasms in my lower back. I found that the very best thing to use when my back is on fire is over the counter lidocaine patches! They have changed my life because once the patches kick in I can actually go about my life instead of being forced to stay in bed praying that I won’t need to sneeze and cause the most intense pain in my life! I hope you see this and give it a try! It won’t cure your back pain but it will give you enough relief to go about your daily life and to continue being the rockstar dad you’ve always been! My daughter swears by her tens unit and that might help you out as well!

Take lacrosse or tennis balls put them in a pillowcase and throw it over your shoulder so the ball is on your back, then lean against a wall, the farther away you stand and lean the harder it will massage!
