I will happily be the one person to agree with colleen that there is something magical about sticking your hand in a bag of birdseed. I knew exactly the feeling she was talking about
I think he can't, because Netflix owns that character, but I agree it would be so fun. It's such a shame she can't have Patrick appear in Miranda-videos from time to time, especially when it's about babies since we know in that universe they are probably Patricks.
This is an IMPORTANT MESSAGE for Erik!!!: When you empty the diaper genie and pull the tied end of the bag down, pull it down FARTHER. There should be at least 5 or so inches of bag lying on the bottom of the genie. I’m telling you, it will last longer and you won’t have to empty it as often.
Yes! And never bother with that hook thing they have at the top on some bins (it instructs me to loop the bottom of the bag up there - it’s a waste). Diaper genie mum of 14 years here lol.
To me it sounds like old advice from when we forced children into submission rather than understanding that they are people that turn into adults… but then just adds more pressure of course
Any neurodiverse person knows the most satisfying feeling in the world as a kid (and adult) is just shoving your hands maybe halfway up the forearm deep in grains, birdseed, sand, small polished stones and even those big fill it yourself cat litter vats at petstores. Also totally agree with you on the yuck textures too, my trigger texture is grease, butter or oil. The amount of times I wash my hands while cooking is by far extremely unnecessary and it's amazing I haven't washed my skin off yet. Lol sensory issues ahoy
Omg I loveee the feeling of clean litter or bird seed but the thing stopping me from doing that is my autism because i cannot function knowing that i touched it and now my hands are dirty 😂😂 it be your own autism.

The sensory issues are an adhd/anxiety thing! I get too. I could list 1000 different things that affect me weirdly, but the funniest is I HAVE to rinse my hands anytime egg yolk touches me. So if I'm making a big batch of scrambled eggs or something, I'll rinse my hands off between cracking each and every egg.

I’m going to speak to the plus side of a toilet mat. When I’m in my own home absolutely yes to a toilet mat. But for the time being, I’m living at my daughters house while mine is being renovated because I’ve recently become disabled because of some back issues. So while I’m at my daughters house, I have to share the bathroom with my 18 year old and 16 year old Grandsons. Now you’d think they’re old enough to not be peeing on the wall behind the toilet, the floor in front of the toilet, all over the edge of the toilet so it runs down the front and sides. Ok. Now that I’ve completely 🤮 🤢 grossed out everyone. I’ve talked to my daughter, my Grandsons (repeatedly), the cat, the dog. It does no good. These boys are so amazing in the way they jump up and run to me anytime I’ve needed help (or needed anything). But I swear they are blind when they are in the bathroom. So yep, daily, I toss a clean towel on the floor in front of the toilet. I refuse to step in puddles of pee anymore in my socks, fuzzy slippers or bare feet. And I’m the only one that cleans the bathroom. I’ve made them take turns. But the same eyes that can’t see where they are peeing, also can’t see to clean it up! Lol. Rant over.
Colleen, I've watched you since third grade and I'm now a senior in high school. I've never watched one person on youtube for so long and I relate to you really well. You make me so happy. Thanks for everything
Totally agree with the texture thing. I touch certain textures and my entire body tenses up, and I can’t move. I literally retract my arms like a scared turtle, sometimes I even gag. It mainly consists of any velvet, Wet food, “soft” blankets that snag any little tiny dry skin particle on my body, the long shaggy/faux fur rugs or just random clothes. I cant have steering wheel covers or certain yoga pants because the feeling of them make me want to crawl in a hole and die lmao. Also with the bird seed thing, mine was always cattle feed, it feels amazing and it smells even better! So, Colleen you’re not alone!
OKAY The whole thing about Colleen saying how there are certain things she can't touch I CAN 1000% RELATE TO THAT! omg I thought I was the only one, especially with the feet thing how I can't touch certain things with my feet I 100% get that. Edit: I just got to the part where y'all were talking about the 1 person in the comments agreeing with Colleen I guess we're the only ones 😂
I hate grit on a hard floor touching my feet or when the kids get even one speck of it in my bed. 😣 But my partner has the same textile thing as Colleen. That feeling will make his body shake if he accidentally touches it.
Seeing Colleen and Erik rif off each other at the end made me so happy. I can see how much Erik loves her and loves to watch her talent on display. He will always be her biggest fan and I think that’s just the sweetest🥺🥺❤️❤️
U can just see how exhausted you both are 🥺 and not in the "wow u look like sh*t" way but the you just both are very drained of energy and you can see that your in a bit of a brain fog. But honestly for being as exhausted as you both are you both look incredible 😍 just know we feel for you and see how hard this is
I remember sitting cross-legged on my sofa nursing my second child (big brother was almost 3, so... a lot) and feeling like I wasn't sure if I was going to survive how tired I was. That level of bone-deep exhaustion is crazy, and they have it harder than most of us, with two tiny babies. So much respect to them that they are still doing this. Colleen is a superhero, and I hope she knows it!
I’ve always been with Erik on the bath mat discussion. I feel like a lot of people are thinking about full restrooms which should have a bath mat. When it comes to guest half bath restrooms then there’s no need for a mat. Most times I use guest bathrooms I have shoes on and I can’t imagine the stuff that would be on guest bath mats if most people are stepping on them with shoes.
I have never laughed so hard during anyones podcast!! My stomach hurts and I’m only 24 mins in!!! And I love how open Erik has become! I love watching you guys!
I’m autistic and sensory issues are such a huge part of my life like !! Every single thing you said about the dishes was so right !! Also it’s so nice to hear that other people have these similar experiences and issues with touch and sound because it makes me feel a lot less weird for the seemingly trivial things I complain about lol
Colleen you are such a mood when you talk about your sensory issues! This is the most I have ever related to you! I have intense sensory issues when it comes to taste, smell, sound and touch. Even when someone walks behind me I get chills. I am so glad I am not alone with these issues! Thank you for talking about this!
Colleen and Erik: *talk for 12 minutes about how un-chill Erik is* Erik: I take it all back, I'm super chill Okay Erik if you say so lol.. Try to get some sleep bud xo
Colleens SAT question: 24 hours per day 18/24 = 3/4 so every 18 hours the trash is emptied Day 1: emptied at 18hrs (6pm) - so once a day Day 2: 6pm + 18hrs = 12pm noon - again only once Day 3: 12pm + 18hrs = 6am + 18hr = 24h (12am midnight) - therefore twice a day
Thank you for causing us all to SCREAM at Colleen in the next episode of the podcast for not understanding the difference between EVERY 3/4 of the day and FOR 3/4 of the day.
PREACH on the sensory issues! Having dermatillomania & ADHD some things just brush against my skin in a type of way that makes me want to RAGE. Certain blankets touching my feet !!!!! I don't like the feeling of most things either lol.
(slight tw: mention of ED) Now, I highly doubt Colleen will ever see this, but I just wanna say thank you guys for making these podcasts. I was just really struggling to eat my dinner, I had judgemental thoughts towards myself and nearly convinced myself to restrict. This episode really allowed me to be distracted from the fact that I have to eat, which made it easier to. So thank you Colleen an Eric, I appreciate you guys so much!!
I LOVE THE FEELING OF BIRD SEED! My grandparents had barrels of bird seed for the bird feeders. I also love the feeling of putting my hands in the cat litter stations at petco! I’m weird lol!
Hi guys, i completely understand the bottle washing situation 🙄 I got one of these automatic glass rinser thingies that they have in restaurants and I swear - life changing!!!! You just put the bottle on there and it preassure cleans it with hot water within seconds, it's magic ❤
I can honestly say that birseed is an amazing tactile experience. My preschoolers made birdfeeders with birdseed, coconut oil and pine cones. The seed is so soft when you run your hands through it!
Omg! I completely agree with Colleen on the birdseed/rice! & the yucky blankets that snag your skin🤮 I love watching you two!! Thank you for being so real!
I have SPD and as a kid I went to sensory therapy. They had these bins along the walls and ground with different types of things (sand, seeds, marbles, ect...) and some were absolutely amazing to step into and put your hands in, and some were awful so I totally relate to the sensory overload.
Poor erik and colleen. Erik literally looks like hes sleeping now lol. Dont know how they even record these right now. If they took a break wed sooooooo........ get it. However, I think they like it cause it forces them to talk about stuff that not just babies
I’ll preface this with the fact that on my first birthday, my parents stuck my hands in birthday cake and I screamed until they washed my hands lol also, microfiber feels like it goes through ever ridge of my finger tip and I dry heave when I touch it. I hate grass bc it’s itchy and sand is by far the worst texture. I’m with you Colleen 😂

I know this sounds strange but when I was little my grandma gave me one of her dish towels to use as my stuffed bunny’s blanket and I love how it feels when it’s cold! It’s comforting and reminds me of her she and my grandpa who gave me the bunny passed when I was 7 so it’s nice to have things to remind me of them!
I love you guys and your little babies. Colleen I’ve been following you since you posted you were pregnant with Flynn and I have never stopped watching you!!! You guys are doing so amazing. Currently 5 weeks 5 days pregnant and you’re the only thing that makes me feel better right now!!
The best feeling in the world to me is having a subject book like an algebra book in school and getting all the pages and feathering thru them. It was something I always did to calm my nerves in class.
I’m autistic and adhd (fun combo) and I can 100% relate to your sensory issues. I hate when things or people softly touch me 🤮 The bird seeds sounds like they would feel wonderful though.
As a fellow adult with adhd I related with everything Colleen said about her sensory issues. From hating washing dishes, sand, different fabrics to loving the feeling of a tub of birdseed.
gotta completely agree with colleen on the texture issue...i have an expensive sherpa blanket, and i can NOT touch one side of it, only the plushie side. and washing dishes touching food is AWFUL. especially if it was somebody else's dish

I whole heartedly understand all of colleens sensory stuff! There's a certain kind of blanket that catches on EVERYTHING even though it's soft. I also hate touching certain things.
YES to mats/rugs in front of bathroom sinks (i personally don't have one because i trip over everything haha but i get why people would love to have one there) ... BUT NO to mats/rugs in front of toilet because mens, boys and visitors can be gross and i would want to wash it EVERY day... AND NO to fluffy mats that consistency stay in front of the shower/bath, that is gross too. I prefer to use a bath mat towel instead and then hang it up when i am finished in the shower and then i wash it whenever i wash my towel. 👌
About the whole rooting topic, as a Brit I always thought it was called “routing”, which here is pronounced the same as “rooting” (I don’t know why, just English tings I guess lol), so my logic was that the rooting reflex was the baby searching for a source of food like you search for a destination with a map or something. But the only way I could liken the two is because English people pronounce both words the same, and so it makes sense why Americans or people that would rhyme “route” with “bout” and not “boot” wouldn’t make that messy connection like I did 😂
The feeling of birdseed to me is equal to the nostalgic feeling of the corn pit at the pumpkin patch. That may only be a thing where I’m from, but it feels incredible. Also, my husband and I have the same narrative about losing things except he always accuses me of throwing things away.
First of all this was a great episode! Thank you Colleen for actually bringing up sensory issues… I have been struggling with figuring out if I really am ADHD or not because tests are so complicated and expensive for me but based on hearing other peoples experience and speaking with someone who has ADHD it seems like I really do have a lot of the symptoms, especially the uncommonly known ones like sensory issues. Also to Eric, even though you might not see this comment, it is so weird and cool that we are from similar areas and I know exactly where you’re talking about at toads place in New Haven Connecticut!! I never went there but I no people who would go there all the time, I am from Stamford Connecticut. Also I loved when Colleen started talking like Miranda… I only recently got into haters back off even though I know it’s been on Netflix for a really long time, but I absolutely love it and it would be really funny and cool if y’all did a short segment of Colleen being Miranda and Eric being Patrick, and just improvising with each other! Love the podcast! I know you may not see this comment but I really hope you do 😊😊

I’m with you Colleen with sensory stuff but I don’t have ADHD. I love the feel of things LIKE bird seed, etc. Here in Illinois it’s cornfield country so putting your hands in hard corn Kernels feels good too. (Kids do it at the county fair when they play with toy tractors, like a sandbox)

Lol. Rant over.
That was so cute when they did the Miranda interview. Made me laughs out loud , its so funny. There should be a weekly interview with Miranda!!
Colleen, I've watched you since third grade and I'm now a senior in high school. I've never watched one person on youtube for so long and I relate to you really well. You make me so happy. Thanks for everything
I know the exact feeling of like the other side of a blanket that’s wool and it gets caught on skin on my finger and I can definitely relate to that
My SO gets so weirded out when I categorize certain socks as sleep socks, shoe socks, and walking around socks.🤣 Different textures make a difference!
Sleep socks should never ever exist.
Aw I do that too! I've kept it a sort of secret after failing to explain to a friend
@@emilywaclawski3028 when you’re allergic to the cold sleep socks are a must.😬
I can relate to different sock textures for different purposes, but I draw the line at sleep socks. I can’t sleep with anything on my feet! 😱🙊
No socks for me 🤢 I cannot stand socks, unless I'm putting shoes on in two seconds.
Same!! I always have to wear socks and house slippers because I cant stand things touching my feet
I can relate to this 100% as well.
But honestly for being as exhausted as you both are you both look incredible 😍 just know we feel for you and see how hard this is
Thinking about how Erik said he would prefer to hear that he looks like shit than to be told that they look tired hahaha
You're not alone Colleen, sensory issues are definitely an ADHD thing!
And so is being able to stay calm in a high stress situation 😊
the way i was just rewatching old episodes to distract me from my health issues and a NEW ONE COMES OUT!! thank you i love you both infinitely
I just have to say, I come here when I’m stressed out or in a bad mood. Just to listen to you guys so thank you so much
I’ve always been with Erik on the bath mat discussion.
Colleen and Erik: *talk for 12 minutes about how un-chill Erik is*
Erik: I take it all back, I'm super chill
Okay Erik if you say so lol.. Try to get some sleep bud xo
Stuff like this is why i listen to this podcast 😂😂
"I have to empty this trashcan every 3 quarters of a day!"
Erik bestie thats only once a day💀❤
Colleens SAT question: 24 hours per day
18/24 = 3/4 so every 18 hours the trash is emptied
Day 1: emptied at 18hrs (6pm)
- so once a day
Day 2: 6pm + 18hrs = 12pm noon
- again only once
Day 3: 12pm + 18hrs = 6am + 18hr = 24h (12am midnight)
- therefore twice a day
Thank you for causing us all to SCREAM at Colleen in the next episode of the podcast for not understanding the difference between EVERY 3/4 of the day and FOR 3/4 of the day.
I found the legendary comment, y'all!
erik is not your bestie 🤪
the amount of chaos this comment causes in the next podcast💀💀💀
PREACH on the sensory issues! Having dermatillomania & ADHD some things just brush against my skin in a type of way that makes me want to RAGE. Certain blankets touching my feet !!!!! I don't like the feeling of most things either lol.
(slight tw: mention of ED)
Now, I highly doubt Colleen will ever see this, but I just wanna say thank you guys for making these podcasts. I was just really struggling to eat my dinner, I had judgemental thoughts towards myself and nearly convinced myself to restrict. This episode really allowed me to be distracted from the fact that I have to eat, which made it easier to. So thank you Colleen an Eric, I appreciate you guys so much!!
Not just saying this, the feeling of bird seed RULES
So true OMG
100%!
I LOVE THE FEELING OF BIRD SEED! My grandparents had barrels of bird seed for the bird feeders.
I also love the feeling of putting my hands in the cat litter stations at petco! I’m weird lol!
In the movie Amelie she says one of life’s greatest pleasures is sticking her hand in a sack of beans 😌
“Where does it go if you just sneeze back into yourself?” Erik ~🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣classic #RelaxThePodcast 🎙
Omg! I completely agree with Colleen on the birdseed/rice! & the yucky blankets that snag your skin🤮 I love watching you two!! Thank you for being so real!
23:15 Eric’s side profile man is Flynn his mini! I love the way he is with Flynn such a good guy! Coleen you hit the jackpot!
When Colleen said Erik is older than her I had to Google his age. For some reason I always thought he was younger than Colleen😂
I'm TOTALLY with you on the birdseed and rice. Certain feelings are soothing and others are just actually not. There's no other way to say it!
I know Colleen knows Eric way better than us, but Eric has always seemed pretty chill to me.🤷♀️
i love how the company is called “Liquid IV” as if all IVs aren’t liquid
I have SPD and as a kid I went to sensory therapy. They had these bins along the walls and ground with different types of things (sand, seeds, marbles, ect...) and some were absolutely amazing to step into and put your hands in, and some were awful so I totally relate to the sensory overload.
10/10 love the Relax from the bed vibes!!!
Side note....never ever ever putting a rug under a toilet, all I could think of is the ick on it
Poor erik and colleen. Erik literally looks like hes sleeping now lol. Dont know how they even record these right now. If they took a break wed sooooooo........ get it. However, I think they like it cause it forces them to talk about stuff that not just babies
They're not going to take a break, podcasts make more money than normal youtube channels because of the ads.
@@Fluffnugget78 And they've also signed contracts so not sure they can just not post, haha
I love this podcast yall. I can do laundry, drive to work, or even just sit and watch it and anyway I’m consuming this content it is DELICIOUS. I find myself smiling all alone while watching. Love y’all
I wish I could hit the thumbs up button a million times. I just love this podcast and look forward to the next one each week !!!
Thank you two lovely people for keeping up with it with everything else you have going on!
I know this sounds strange but when I was little my grandma gave me one of her dish towels to use as my stuffed bunny’s blanket and I love how it feels when it’s cold! It’s comforting and reminds me of her she and my grandpa who gave me the bunny passed when I was 7 so it’s nice to have things to remind me of them!
flynn singing the maisy jo song was the cutest thing I've ever heard
I love you guys and your little babies. Colleen I’ve been following you since you posted you were pregnant with Flynn and I have never stopped watching you!!! You guys are doing so amazing. Currently 5 weeks 5 days pregnant and you’re the only thing that makes me feel better right now!!
The best feeling in the world to me is having a subject book like an algebra book in school and getting all the pages and feathering thru them. It was something I always did to calm my nerves in class.
I’m autistic and adhd (fun combo) and I can 100% relate to your sensory issues. I hate when things or people softly touch me 🤮
The bird seeds sounds like they would feel wonderful though.
Guys,I know I just love your little family and personalities but I swear I crave yalls videos, like seeing my best friends or something.I had a different video on am as soon as I saw ya'lls,I clicked right out to watch ya'lls. Thanks for sharing,it really helps me get through some terrible times in my Mom and my lives right now.Sending LOVE ❤ AND BLESSINGS TO Y'ALL AND ALL WHO SEE THIS 👀 ❤ 💙 💗
I whole heartedly understand all of colleens sensory stuff! There's a certain kind of blanket that catches on EVERYTHING even though it's soft. I also hate touching certain things.
52:18 love how she just intensely stares into the camera while Erik is talking lol!
Sensory issues are part of ADHD! I didn’t realize it and then it made so much sense after I was told
I love that song Erik ! Back in the day when I was young I'm not kid anymore but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again...
Colleen shading Erik for being “way older” than her is everything. I’m the same way with my husband who is 5 years older than me. 👴🏻
Hahaha I'm 4.5 years older than my husband and we tease about it all the time :)
I do the same to my partner and he's only 3 months older than me 😂
My husband is 1 year older then me and I always call him an old man
I think he's younger than she is actually
@@hollyl5702 She's 35 and he's 39
But the only way I could liken the two is because English people pronounce both words the same, and so it makes sense why Americans or people that would rhyme “route” with “bout” and not “boot” wouldn’t make that messy connection like I did 😂
Totally relate to the conversation about textures/touching things especially bins of grain/corn growing up on a farm
I know you may not see this comment but I really hope you do 😊😊
As far as diapers in the middle of the night goes, instead of throwing them across the room you could always leave an empty Walmart bag next to you and put them in there until the morning 😉
then she would be keeping a smelly poopy diaper right next to her to smell all night hahaha ew
Couldn’t! I’d smell it, my nose is so sensitive.
A stinky diaper will stink regardless of where it is in the room.
Eric: I’m chill
Also Eric: Rants about rooting for 15 min while frantically messing with his hair
An Addition:
Eric: I use to be fearless
His definition: Dancing backwards into weddings in Hawaii… barely
Erik has always seemed 1000% chill in my opinion idk why Colleen says he isn't.
@@jean6151 Because she knows him more than us? And as he said "he lets her in".
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca I mean, of course she does, but she's really trying get it across hard that he's not when he clearly comes off as super chill in every video I've ever watched with them
replayed the last 10mins so many times omfg so funny to watch the whole character breaking thing its amazing
