I have own 3 scouts, In 98 and 2004 I sold my last one, I drove a 64-65, and my last one was a 1971, My 65 I owned for all most 20years, I drove that truck 800 miles a week, average speed was 60 mph and it was humming, I regret selling that one being I put so much work into it, rebuilt motor new floors all steel very little bondo, Being I was a body man for Mercedes Benz back in the 70's, It is now in car shows, I sold to a retired police officer, He spent 25 thousand, on a complete restore, Beautiful truck, also has a Ls conversion, with 4 speed Auto. Wish I never sold, Well we all have regrets.Great Little trucks

686Thanks Ben for the memories. Back in 68 shortly after getting married We needed a dependable vehicle and bought an 62 800. Had a Fisher 7'snow plow. Made some good money with plowing contracts around town. Internationals were so basic to work it got me start in thrucking business with loadstar1800 tandem dumps. Thanks again for sharing.

By far that is one of my favorite's. My grandfather had one , don't know if it was the 80 or 800 but I remember riding in it at High Rock to go berry picking and he put it in low range to creep down pretty much a shale rock goat trail to get to the bottom of this canyon where the berries were much larger than up top.. I always loved it and remember it was that light metallic IH green color with the white top.. That thing would go anywhere and I can still hear in my mind the whining noise low range made in it..Thanks for the memories, if only I had the money. lol

I had a mint 67 Scout 800 w/ the 266 V8 back in high school in the mid 1980s. Been kicking myself for selling it ever since.

You should do a 3D scan on that Bigfoot Gas Pedal, so cool/tubular.

hah. brings back memories of riding in the back seat of the full box version of that, 4 cyl, 3 speed, towing a 'supermodified' oval track racer around new england in the early 70s. The Scout had a very faded red exterior, and the top was white. i was the junior kid on the pit crew, i got the gopher jobs mostly.

That would be sweet as a little small block chevy or ford engine and transmission set up. I like my standard transmissions so it would have to go back same way. Four cylinders were just four short of power and transmissions for original with more power just don't live so long. I would of been a buyer about thirty years ago

I pulled the 4 cylinder out of my jeep with that 3 speed trans and put a 383 stroker in it and never had a problem just had to go with a bigger clutch

Do you just do videos of trucks you sell or do you do videos of fixs and things. lol like 1980 scout ii ignition switch s and were the wiring gos haha 😄 all but the gas gage works, and the four x four light witch is always on, but that i don't care about .I have the books but 1980 was the last year and hafe way throw they switched wiring .beside doing it all in green wire.ha ha and mine was stolen and hurt in 95 but it has had a frame off in 96 to 99 and then it got stolen again 😪 2001and hurt bad i got it back in 2013, this is the engine it came with and it has been blown up and rebult three times this last time it took me 8k and 8 years to fix ..But it starts and breaths fire and the mary band on stockers that flourish in BC have screwed with the wires after I got it all to work so now I'm sitting and freaking out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
