American JUNIOR antique lathe, we bought it at a mechanical workshop in Vietnam. This American JUNIOR lathe was manufactured in 1920, so far this lathe is more than 100 years old. the machine has completely rusted and many things are not done but we still buy this lathe to restore.I hope you find something useful from this video!

Nie wiem skąd tyle pozytywnych komentarzy. Nie zrobiłeś nic co by miało poprawić pracę tej tokarki. Dobrze, że nie odnawiasz starych samochodów. Wyglądałoby to tak, że byś go umył i pomalował wstrętnym jednym kolorem wszystko łącznie z kierownicą, wszystkimi przełącznikami i tapicerką. A rozklekotana skrzynia biegów, łyse opony i urwane lusterka zostałyby po staremu.

Re index your chuck to its backplate. A lot of your runout or wobble is there. And lube everything WELL. Before you damage all those hard to find and expensive old bronze Busings, . You seem to be a fast learner. Cudos to you buddy

Sono un tornitore e vecchio restauratore, posso dirvi solo che avete fatto un ottimo video di come non si deve restaurare. Un tornio di questo genere non merita di essere trattato in questa maniera. Capisco che ci vuole molto tempo per fare questi lavori ma è meglio non iniziarli che rimanere a metà (eseguito correttamente sarebbe stato un piccolo gioiello)

Si es cierto que usted es tornero y restaurador de vete a saber no habla como un profesional, yo soy del mismo oficio, hace unos veinte años me regalaron un torno de edad similar a la del vídeo, le híce lo mismo que el autor de esta publicación, desmontaje completo del torno, limpieza a fondo de cada pieza, pintura, montaje, engrase y ajuste de la máquina, y nada que envidiar a tornos de última generación a la hora de tornear piezas de precisión.
Usted en su respuesta se muestra de forma arrogante, y un profesional no tiene ese comportamiento que muestra usted.
Usted se ha limitado a criticar el trabajo de esta publicación, pero no ha facilitado datos de como hacerlo correctamente, solo os gusta tocar las narices y criticar.

Adjust en oil the bearings of headstock first, your workpiece is jumping all around, but nice job bringing this rust to live again.
some grease as wil do wonders for this nice lathe. succes

Yeah it had more chatter than a bus load of old ladies on a day trip ! The test piece wasn't even running true....
needs a little more adjustments, but good work. Respect.

To není full restoration, ale jen vyčištění a nastříkání. Neviděl jsem výměnu jediného dílu, žádné seřízení, ta univerzála se třepe jako drahý pes.
Na výstavu dobré, ale na práci ne.

@@СергейПономарев-в7ь а я дурак думал, что первое это хотя бы смена подшипников, а то не вооружённым взглядом видно как разбит шпиндельный подшипник.
@@АЛЕКСЕЙ74-ь6о там ВСЁ разбито, и НИКАКИХ мер по устранению люфтов не было сделано.

разобрать, почистить и покрасить, причём закрасив вместе с технологическими отверстиями - это не реставрация, это обслуживание))))) он наверняка работал бы и без разборки и чистки
A part un nettoyage à fond et une nouvelle peinture rien n'est fait pour améliorer l'état mécanique du tour , polissage des axes et remise en état des écrous de réglage de l'axe du mandrin .

This lathe feels like it can only be displayed, and the test run has no precision.
Broken selector handle not repaired/replaced. Oil ports/cups not serviced.Tailstock not serviced/disasembled, etc... Cleaned and painted NOT a restoration.
Он плохой специалист. Даже покраску сделал неправильно. Разобрал, помыл, замену износившихся деталей не произвел, не восстановил. Покрасил как попало и собрал и все. Работать станок как положено не будет, оно и видно. Гремит, стучит, вибрирует.. Может он стоять в музее будет.
Я так понял поверка, настройка и замена подшипников не главное ) главное - покрасить без грунтовки 😊

Realmente muy pobre. Mecanicamente es una pieza de descarte y de restauracion no tuvo nada, no se verificaron centrados, alineaciones ni alabeos. Posiblemente sirva para tornear madera.

Non é un buon restauro. La verniciatura é eseguita male ..la pulizia degli ingranaggi non é stata accurata così come le bronzine e le leve dei comandi e i volani della torretta e del carrello non si verniciano mai ma si spazzolano e si lucidano così come vite e bullone e dadi ...potete migliorare ...siate fiduciosi ! Buon lavoro 😊

Könnte mich immer amüsieren,saubermachen Farbe drauf und dann ist es restauriert. Kein nachschauen des Bettes,der Führungen kein ausbuchsen der Lager usw.das ist für mich kein restaurieren !
I'm surprised it came apart so easy. No oil in the apron gearbox ,table drive or variable speed for the chuck. No grease in the chuck either. You made a piece of junk work. Congratulations!
I am glad that the man washed and painted .Disassembled and assembled. But do not dream of any accuracy here. Really junk. In order to achieve some kind of correctness, his machine needs to be disassembled 10 more times, adjusted and reassembled.
I can see how the part shakes when grinding, how the cartridge shakes. It's not that about hundredths of a millimeter, but it's too early to dream about tenths.. 43:23
