Mercedes Cdi diesel low power

  • Follow along as we diagnose low power condition. Two fixes in one video on 2008 Mercedes GL320 Cdi diesel.
    Codes we had in this vehicle on previous repair
    2016-001 rail pressure monitoring via volume control valve. The rail pressure is too low
    2020-004 Rail pressure monitoring via volume control valve . The rail pressure is too high
    Codes we had in this vehicle this time.
    2679-4 check the component b76 fuel filter water level sensor faulty
    2526-2 check the signal to component Y77/1 charge pressure positioner short circuit to ground
    2527-2 check the component Y27/9 left EGR/ARF positioner short circuit to ground
    2514-2 check the component R398/1 vent line heater element short circuit to ground
    3053-4 check the component b2/7b1 intake air temp iat sensor signal fault.
    The following were codes we had this time but I failed to record the code number.
    check the component b2/6b1 intake air temp iat sensor signal fault.
    check the component d2/7 right hot film mass air flow maf sensor short or open circuit
    check the component b2/6 left hot film mass air flow maf sensor short or open circuit
    check the component b2/7 left hot film mass air flow maf sensor short or open circuit
    check the exhaust back pressure. Exhaust back pressure is too high

    so i imagine you leave the supected shorted unplug and plug back all the connector that was disconnected to see if there is a big current draw .thanks great video

    Hello sir. I’m working on 2002 Jetta tdi. Wastegate Atuator won’t hold Vac at all. Bench service/test. Appreciate any help. Your Videos are great. Thank you for sharing your skill set. E

      If it wont hold vacuum you'll have to replace it. if its been like this awhile the vanes may be seized. Pull the actuator off and see if the lever moves.

      Yes cleaned it as shown in your videos. All’s great. Do you have them? Oh. I’d never film it, but it did come out up top. Your way is “The Way”. !! Didn’t have Hex large enough for axel.

    i have the same problem
    it accord in day not in the early morning
    its hard to start
    mechanic assumes its fuel pressure regulator
    he say to wait coz no errors code yet in the scanner
    any recommendation

      there are no 1.6L tdi Vw's hefe in USA so I have no experience.

    Which is worst to work on vw or Mercedes?

      I don't work on enough mercedes to answer, but my tech service had real good info on this one.. We were able to diagnose it in a reasonable time. Parts cost on mercedes is a little ridiculous.
