Funnily enough, you've listened to literally the very first boss and the very last one. Going from some wormy boy in the desert to the strongest boss in the game and the literal climax of the mod =)
I was about to say that I found it funny that they went from the very first boss to the last boss. A very stark contrast between the worm and the witch of calamity.
A lot of people will tell you to listen to this song, or that song, what I’m telling you to do is to listen to the entire album in order, because every song is worthy of praise, even the ones that are overlooked
The first boss and the last one? That's a good choice, really, but there's much more tracks in between! Be sure to check the 3 interlude tracks of you continue this series. 😃👍 A livestream would be cool, ngl!
yeah there is another video where we checked out other tracks. i was going off of recommendations and just so happens that these two are the ones i picked
The theme of supreme calamitas in the acceptance phase is where she accepts defeat and talks to you about what would happen to you if you were to fight the tyrant yharim and how that could end up making you a tyrant
30:26 You're semi-right with Supreme Calamitas being a superboss, as in previous versions she was considered a superboss, but in current versions she is the final endgame boss of the Mod, with essentially almost all the lore surrounding literally every other boss somewhat related to her in one way shape or form. You should definitely check out Roar of the Jungle Dragon and the Nonstop Mix of the Devourer of Gods, probably in separate videos each as there's so much to unpack.
Welp, that was hellofadrive there People asks the in order because the most common way to progress trhough the game is by defeating bosses that escalates in diff a lot. Dm Dokuro made most of the songs, he made the playlist with only his themes, there is the full playlist named full calamity ost that put the rest plus putting the biomes in order of progression as well. And some songs are part of others or lore that links them, like infernal catharsis + roar of the jungle or all the servants of the devourer (making the non stop mix). P.S.: the abyss theme you heard in the other video is 1 layer of the whole abyss biome. P.S.2: 20:16 Dm Dokuro is singing and he has not singed in any of his songs (only a few like 2 o 3) so it was hell of a surprise for us, also lyrics of the choir in the description.
Minor note, but there actually are lyrics to the choir in SBC, imo theyre too hard to hear and a little wonky in places, but i dont think it detracts much. Functionally they work as a midi choir, but its neat that extra detail is there to find. Also Heather's comment on it sounding like a musical is somewhat on point as the mod (and probably the lyricism I'd imagine; especially the whole "this is from the boss's perspective" style) was inspired by Metal Gear Rising and thats a common joke in that games community
I love Calamity mod music and I would love to help with listening to the whole Ost and help with better understanding of "Stained brutal calamity". First, Ost. There are a few problems here because Ost to Calamity mod is em.. in short, in several places. it would be long to explain here but just listen to the music in this playlist you are now + a few other osts: (I will add when they should be heard) -2 Acid rain ost. "Corrosion", (after "infestation") "Nuclear monsoon" (before "toxic wisdom") -Instead of "servants of the scourge", "scourge of the universe" and "universal collapse". I highly recommend "Devourer of Gods (Nonstop Mix)" this is the most important because these three osts have been combined into something beautiful with a little addition that you must hear. -"Catastrophic fabrications" (After "Roar of The Jungle Dragon") Now a bit about "Stained brutal calamity" because to fully love this ost you need to know the lyrics and a bit of Lore. Supreme Calamitas the most powerful witch. She has been through a lot in her life. since she was a child she was strong in magic, which is why she was recruited to the army by Tyrant Yharim. She lost everything, she did a lot of evil she had to imprison her mentor, and much more... but now Yharim is in despair after losing his closest friend at the hands of the player he's going to send Supreme Calamitas because he doesn't want to fight... Supreme Calamitas is tired of all this but she can't refuse... she doesn't have the strength to do it. "grief" The Supreme Calamitas perspective, she knows what the player had to do to get this far.. she sees hope in him, but also sees in him what she sees in Yharim. "Lament" Player's Perspective, The player character doesn't know what will happen next, maybe he will become as cruel as Yharim... or maybe he already is? "epiphany" Npc's Perspective, "The End Has Come" Supreme Calamitas can't give up and starts using all of her strength... but will she defeat the player? "Acceptance" Supreme Calamitas is defeated... after saying her last words, Supreme Calamitas is ready to die... but the player doesn't kill her, instead they take her in and allows her to live her life and meet her old mentor Permafrost. Yharim sees this and tells this to the player: None have borne the brunt of misfortune quite like the Brimstone Witch Calamitas. When first I saw her, she was still a girl. Prostrated in my court, garbed in charred rags, trembling. I could not grasp the unfathomable, raw power of the fell magics that coursed through her. She could scant control it herself. Permafrost recognized this immediately. With a pained face, he counseled me to look after her. The Witch entered his tutelage, and soon after, my service. She was ablaze with desire to douse the Gods in her wicked wrath. Indeed, the faithful already quaked in her presence. Her name was a moniker of theirs, one uttered quietly in fear. In my campaigns, I counted on her sheer capacity for annihilation as my ace in the hole. No man, no army, no city, and no God could stand against her unbridled fury. Eventually, the girl's horrific sin was too much for her to bear. She left my side along with her mentor. The weight of her deeds haunts her to this day. She despises me, and I cannot blame her. Please, if you would, show her respect where I did not.
The soundtrack is amazing and I hope you guys listen to more! If I had to recommend any it would be Roar of the Jungle Dragon, Fly of Beelzebub, and Raw Unfiltered Calamity.
Hello ive been watching your videos today and i would recommend that maybe you read a small bit of the lore behind the bosses music to understand the soundtrack even more 👍

Terraria Calamity Mod Music - The Devourer of Gods (Nonstop Mix)
this is a must listen... this piece deserve a lot

good god i wasnt expecting stained brutal calamity to come out swinging as the second song. i thought you were gonna go in order and play Infestation

I would still regard her as a superboss frankly along with exo-mechs, though, she is definitely the harder fight.

"Devourer of Gods (Nonstop Mix)"
this is the most important because these three osts have been combined into something beautiful with a little addition that you must hear.
-"Catastrophic fabrications" (After "Roar of The Jungle Dragon")
Now a bit about "Stained brutal calamity" because to fully love this ost you need to know the lyrics and a bit of Lore.
"grief"
The Supreme Calamitas perspective, she knows what the player had to do to get this far.. she sees hope in him, but also sees in him what she sees in Yharim.
"Lament"
Player's Perspective,
The player character doesn't know what will happen next, maybe he will become as cruel as Yharim... or maybe he already is?
"epiphany"
Npc's Perspective, "The End Has Come"
Supreme Calamitas can't give up and starts using all of her strength... but will she defeat the player?
"Acceptance" Supreme Calamitas is defeated... after saying her last words, Supreme Calamitas is ready to die... but the player doesn't kill her, instead they take her in and allows her to live her life and meet her old mentor Permafrost.
Yharim sees this and tells this to the player:
None have borne the brunt of misfortune quite like the Brimstone Witch Calamitas.
Please, if you would, show her respect where I did not.
bruh we went from the very first boss u fight in the game and then the very last that was crazy lol
The soundtrack is amazing and I hope you guys listen to more! If I had to recommend any it would be Roar of the Jungle Dragon, Fly of Beelzebub, and Raw Unfiltered Calamity.
God I love this ost. Would love more.
Infernal catharsis into roar of the jungle dragon is a huuuuge must. They’re phase 1+2 of the same boss and it fits way too well together.
in all of the reactions to this ost that i've seen, nobody has ever read the lyrics for stained brutal calamity
You could also listen to infernum mod with the vanilla soundtrack and sky after rain ect sadly it is not by dm dokuro but pinpin neon
If you want another really good final boss theme, I would recommend "Kings" from the "Project Wingman" OST
also listn to Devourer of Gods Nonstop Mix, it's 3 songs together. FIrst one for DoG's sentinels, then DoG's one, finally DoG's final form
Chat, I know the lyrics of Stained Brutal Calamity almost perfectly. Am I cooked?
so do I :3
Hello ive been watching your videos today and i would recommend that maybe you read a small bit of the lore behind the bosses music to understand the soundtrack even more 👍
