    Another cracking video, you must have made a good impression on the shipper that keeps giving you work. Hope he’s paying you well 😂

    A pound a mile out of Scotland (even to Barrow) for a small van job is phenomenally good 👍

    Great content Dave , I am in similar circumstances as yourself with no mortgage or debt but still work shifts 4 on 4 off and fit a few jobs in on my days off. Was thinking of taking the plunge and just concentrating on courier business as I enjoy it more. Keep up the excellent content.

    Your approach to calculating "good days" is similar to mine, but there is one critical difference I think, which you might want to consider.
    We both do Income minus Costs to leave a profit figure.
    I then take that profit figure and divide it by time (a little oversimplified, but time I got home minus time I left home) to give me a profit per hour.
    I find this important because, for example, if I make £100 profit in a day, it's a world of difference between doing it in 5 hours and doing it in 15 hours (and yes, I've done both!).
    As an aside - you gave me excellent advice on ADR before (I took two pressurised oxygen cannisters) - I really hoped I'd have the confidence/courage to turn down work in the future when I turned up and thought it might be ADR, but I failed miserably :( I've had 2 recent loads that I suspected were ADR and I just went with it. :( I just couldn't quite manage to have the conversation with the shipper that I didn't want to take it - especially having travelled a way to get there, and (probably) going towards home and wanting the trip. I'm not proud of myself and wish I was stronger willed!

      Be careful pal, you could get proper screwed over if something should happen don't during your journey.
      Shit even if VOSA pulled you'd be balls deep in a load of shit. Let's not even think about if you was involved in a serious incident.

    good videos Dave !
    the only gripe is a good week for you may not be a good week for others
    we all have targets , I used to be a car trade plater in fact I still have my trade plates and it's always an option but the work is hit miss and public transport between meant it want for me anymore
    I am now a hgv class 1 driver but it is nights and its mega boring
    I like the sound of courier work and your certainly making it look interesting , I am in the north east
    keep up the good work

    • @anvillogistics477
      @anvillogistics477  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Martin if you watch the videos you’ll know I don’t have a mortgage anymore and so you are right my financial expectations are different than other people.
      I will tell you that the company wage to me is £500 a week as that’s enough to pay my bills and leave spending money over. I appreciate that some people need more than that. I have been pleasantly surprised by my takings and could pay myself more than that but I want to keep the money in the company for now.
      I think you get out of this what you put in, but I believe it’s really slack in January so I’m preparing for that and will probably take some time off then.

    • @martinwoods4025
      @martinwoods4025 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      personally 500 a week if a really good wage , work hard reap the rewards , I know from watching the videos and many others roughly the mileage rate , are you finding you are getting jobs regularly and Winning quite a few
      do you have to wait long for replies when quoting

    • @anvillogistics477
      @anvillogistics477  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martinwoods4025 in most cases the shipper will respond in a few minutes as they want it off the list. In some cases if the job has time in hand then they may hang on to the bids for a while to get the best deal. However I don’t wait for a reply and will bid on several jobs at once and hopefully pick one up. I win bids every day and you get a feel of what price will secure the job. If it’s urgent you have a good chance of a higher price.

    • @anvillogistics477

      If you look at the older videos I did a breakdown on that.
      Basically it’s my weekly running costs inc fuel plus a small wage

    Random question and apologies if you have covered it elsewhere, but who do you have your roadside recovery with? Looking to sort mine out this weekend and prices seem to vary from the big 3. Cheers.

    Not much information.. each job u say ‘it was decent money’ but u dont say how much the money was. Be good to get insight into how much the jobs were for £

    • @anvillogistics477
      @anvillogistics477  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry about that, in my earlier videos I used to give the prices I got for jobs but was asked not to anymore.
      If you look at the earlier videos you might get more information.
      I will say that I run a LWB and never run less than £1.10 a mile as a minimum and try to get around £1.30 a mile but that’s difficult on the CX at the moment. So when I say decent money it indicates that I’ve got the higher rate.
      The exception to this is on a back load as I’ll bid lower to get home.
      Hope this helps
