I have many ferro rods and so far "LIGHT MY FIRE" is the best. You buy it and can't go wrong. A few days ago I bought EXOTAC fire rod and it's on its way. I am wondering which one would be better between Light My Fire and EXOTAC. Anyway, in the video the glove-hands guy seems to be using the EXOTAC striker WRONG. The striker is facing wrong direction. Please have more related skills to introduce these items. And I don't think it is a good idea to use vaseline-soaked cotton balls to demonstrate ferro rod ignitions. Since vaseline-cotton is the easiest tinder possibly possible, we cannot judge whether the rods in the video are good or not.
@@tonysmith9061 Yeah, I also agree with you. A blade of a bushcraft knife is thick and wide so it's usually ok to use as a striker. But for small blades like the multitool seen in this video, the blade may be tempered by the heat and permanently damaged. It seems obvious that we see some flaws in this video. Thank you for your comment.
@2:20 any flat edge striker is going to cut into your finger after a given period of time. If your going to use this type of striker, cover it with some hemp-wick. You'll save your finger and have something to burn slow.
Any chance the hand model in this vid has EVER actually used a ferro rod to start a real fire in the woods? They look like this is their first time scraping a ferro rod..
i would consider bic bendy or straight camp fire/ gas lighter i would not consider the old smokers lighter and to be honest if you fixated on a lighter that a smoker uses you'd likely waste money on a zippo refillable lighter. as far as I know nothing within bics and other similar vain lighters typically don'e have the capacity to be rrefilled these days.. paper and light woods are best for starting though you will need access too hard woods to sustain fires once lit.. don't get me wrong ferro rod are a great thing to own, however home much are you paying $1, $5, $10, $40,-$150+ vs lighter, pack 610 boxes of matches and so forth and the list goes on and on and on
I love my Uberleban ferro rod !
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the light my fire you have to push a small part to get a very high loud sound it does work

EXOTAC striker was used wrongly.

I got the uberleban for 7.95
This "crafted in Germany" uberleben is suspiciously similar to a 5$ Chinese rod from eBay (:
This had me laughing with how the person used the blast match. That is by far the worst demo ever.
They used the wrong side of the striker on the exotac.
Bonjour So which one is the best ?
There not here to tell you what the best is, there here to sell you shit on amazon.
99 cent bick..😁

A good lighter or a pack of matches ain't bad as well. Just make sure the matches don't get wet. We appreciate your feedback, Jason. :)
Many better rods than these. Check UCO, REI, DICKS
