Could you add in the description the brand and type of CA glue, activator, and any other consumables you use in the assembly of these? Add the green string you use as well. Thanks
Pinned so I don’t forget
@InventionIncarnate do you have a list yet or offer the items as a add on to the kits?
I feel like I am being added to another list, just for watching this video. I do like the sprinkles.
If you saw this video, chances are you were already on the list. Welcome brother lol. First time?
I just try to make it interesting for whoever has been assigned my search/viewing history. He went from watching what to what now?!?! Wtf is he trying to do?!?! lol
If you're not on a list, you aren't shit anyway.
Perimeter alarms set. Mom's basement secured. Tell the ATF I'm not here.
I think you just did.
Damn funny!!!!
"Mom! The meatloaf! Fuck!"
I really hope you have all these videos backed up and a way to share them.when TH-cam shuts you down. Your content is way to good to go unnoticed.
Thank you, and yes, I wish that there was a video-sharing monopoly, that 99% of users wrongly perceived as a “public platform,” though it was really a controlled space that didn’t have an a_gor_th_m with an agenda.
I never perceived the bias until I started creating content and directly witnessed the absurd, insurmountably clever, dishonest, sneaky, gaslighting methods used to suppress certain content and promote others.
Ugh I feel like I’m gunna barf thinking of the multitude of direct examples and proof and having no voice because my volume is completely controlled by something other than my viewers.

FYI. Light a small candle to use as your heat source for heat shrinking to save lighter / fuel. Makes for convenience and time saver.
So, the best time to do it, would be on my birthday?
lol, how about using a heat gun like you’re supposed to, especially around all those other “flammable” items he’s got laying around. + save lighter fuel? Goddamn, if you’re that poor, how do you afford internet and something to watch it on.

If you've noticed your CA glue bottle prematurely hardening, it's because the hardening agent is aromatic. A spray into the air causes the hardening to accelerate. Typically to hasten the curing process one will tend to spray directly onto the glue covered area or spot & it will create a shell & most of the time cause crazing. That's the hardened foam that smokes, cackles & it a "cold shut", as with a cold sweat joint on copper pipe, or a cold solder on a circuitboard. The difference is crazed CA glue expands in bulk & crazed areas are weak.
My name is Tim too! And I’m pinning your comment because it’s dope

This is probably a dumb question but where the glitter and sprinkles stand ins for real chemicals that Big Brother TH-cam wouldn't allow?
dude, those mason bees pollinate better than honey bees, without em you dont get fruit or veggies, nothing disgusting about them.
Truth !
And mason bees are very docile and don’t sting.
I am so glad you did this. I have been checking skylighter every day for months, hoping that kit would come back in stock. I figured surely there would be someone else to fill that market. You are appreciated sir.
maybe tarred bank line would work better than that string.
It is basically nylon surveyors string, impregnated with tar, so its 100% water proof, and sun proof.
no "capillary action" or similar things to worry about. Using it might save you a few steps, some resources, and some time.
It comes in a variety of sizes, from basically dental floss sized, to like, paracord size, and everything in between.
also, its flat/matt black, so it should blend in better too.
That stuff lasts forever, too! I have a long wire antenna that is tied off with bank line that has been in a tree for at least 10 years and it shows no real sign of deterioration.

Very similar to how the Vietcong used to tie fishing line to a partially pulled grenade pin so that when you tripped the wire, the pin would pull out completely. Of course the Vietcong had more sinister intentions and would make punji pits around the grenade so that when you went to dive for cover from the fragmentation, you would fall into the actual trap being the punji pits.
Sprinkles and glitter lmao. That's awesome.

You threw me off with the sprinkles. First, I just thought it was code for a component. Then I was like, oh, that really is sprinkles. I figured out what sprinkles are now. I must make these now!

"Ah, shit... Hide the cot! The storage manager's comin!"
So, you do use military issue trip wire... same stuff we used in Combat Engineer for distinct applications from perimeter early warning that can be audible to colored smoke to booby traps that varies including IEDs and other usage.
I have to check my Phase 1 manual or FM manual for the nomenclature as we had similar "caps" as we had a nickname for what you handmade is well made indeed.
Thanks for sharing...
Sprinkles and glitter...nice.
Loved it,the humour was appreciated.
Awesome video! great info on what's available and how to improve it - very useful, you seem to find the ideal local solutions to a lot of problems, you can tell a lot of thought and knowledge has gone into this and considering other ideas.
please say hi to the fbi guy in the van outside your compound next time you're out and about :))
Love this! Def coming back to this before camping trip. He said you can buy those caps pre-made? Where and how much? The cap is basically the explosion right? Fill with bbs or cayenne pepper!
Hi! I was wondering if you would be able to post the instructions on your website if you're not able to share specifics on YT? I don't have much experience messing with *spicy* cooking ingredients in a DIY setting, I'm sure my common sense will guide me well but I'm just kind of a safety conscious person and like to follow established procedures.
I'm on my way out to buy glitter and sprinkles.... who would have known. Cant wait.
Instead of brushing ca glue on the tube, I roll the glued paper(I make grayons) on a waxy label sheet after all the stickers are used. It distributes the glue nice and even and you don't need to screw with brushes, even as cheap as they may be.
Genius!
@@InventionIncarnate could also just use baking soda instead of spray on activator.
Really useful video! Thanks for sharing your tips
I have an idea for you to try: in the 'OSS special weapons and equipment' book I had, they showed these "chemical delay pencils". A spring striker held under tension with a wire passing thru a celluloid disk held captive under a cotton sponge. The top end had an ampule of different concentrations of acetone or some other solvent that would be broken and then it would eat the disk, releasing the wire so the striker can do it's work. You could select a rough delay time by chosing different concentrations of the solvent.
I used poly and lacquer to make the disks, but I never was able to get a good shape that came apart the same way every time, and I never did come up with a good substitute for the acetone ampules, I just varied the amount of wick and water blending to try and come up with a workable delay.. nevrr sorted it out. Cool lil thing tho.
That’s awesome! I just ordered that book
@@InventionIncarnate there's tons of cool gadgets in there. The suitcase motorcycle was a favorite of my 12 year old self when I first bought that book at a gun show. That and the canoe size mini sub.
Are you talking about pencil detonators?
They use a lead wire, and copper chloride to dissolve the wire releasing the spring.
@@DH-xw6jp all the drawings I saw referred to "celluloid disk" locking the wire for the thing I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure that would work too, tho. The russians forgo chemicals all together and use a wire of different thickness being cut by another under spring clockworks, but that's a whole different deal..
@@camojoe83 the British had one of that type too.
The copper chloride one was called a "number 10, Delay" and the nicked wire one was called a "number 9, L Delay" (L signifying lead without the chemical component)
You can look them both up pretty easily if you search for "pencil detonator" or "timer pencil"
You should tinker with spraying the outsides of these when done with some spray contact adhesive. Then rolling them in dirt mixed with twigs n leaves that match the surroundings. They'll blend in like crazy. Good video bud
Nothing left unlike my mouse trap idea thanks
You could use 3:1 or 4:1 self-sealing, glue-lined shrink wrap, and stretch one end out to fit about 1/8" over the end of the tube, to water-proof the string end. It would simplify that part of the process significantly, I think.
Yes, I’ve done that and the adhesive bonds aggressively to the string making it extremely difficult to initiate. Also, it doesn’t prevent capillary draw through the string which is the absolute worst place for water to go
Thats some real nerdy stuff bud! Super coool idea
Very interesting. I read recently that the Vietcong used this type of ignition system frequently. Thanks for sharing this video: its excellent as always.
This also sent me down a rabbit hole of corrosive primers, as per your comment on H48 primers; I appreciate that piece of information. If you have any knowledge to share on H48 primers, I'd certainly be interested.
Screenshotted this so I remember to do some research
Just received my kit. Well put together 💪🏽
WHERE DO YOU GET THE KIT?
Sorry about bustin' your balls yesterday. I miraculously recovered from that aspirin overdose as well! I think I still have the headache though, and I'm hoping the internal bleeding stops soon.
I went down to baskin robbins and ordered a double scoop with extra sprinkles so I could pick them all off and save them.
I had no luck with that, so instead, I used my secret blend of urine (pee pee) and the blackheads I extracted from native American teenager faces.
And at this point in time, I believe it best if everyone tries to get on as many lists as possible. Safety in numbers and all that.
Thanks for your work and videos!
These would be perfect when camping, like the old chain and bell system cowboys used to use for bandits, snakes, bears, and other dwellers of the night (just make sure to remember where you put em)
Not sure if you already have but would love a list of everything like the other individual said. Especially the string lol
Wow finally a sweet project
What was the glitter and sprinkles about? I didn't get that. Also u should place your traps about 2 or 3 feet high so they don't get stepped over
The ca Works beautiful we use it on RC airplanes protect the wood against fuel

Awesome, thank you!
I made mine with tent stake rat trap 12ga blank and some type of a fire work so when you trip it it lights the fire work ignites the fire work and gives yo a visual of the breach

What is the magnesium carbonate for? Also, is there any reactive cautions to any of the other chems that people should be aware of? how stable is it for short and long term storage?
Thank you in advance.
I think you already know the answers to those questions and you are just quizzing me to determine my credentials. Your name is oldmanpatriot after all.
When The magnesium carbonate decomposes during combustion it releases co2 which slows the ignition composition’s burn rate. And because the burn time of the igniter is prolonged that increases the probability of ignition.
Also, a secondary benefit is that it slightly buffers some trace sulfuric acid that potentially forms from the sulfer in the striker mixture on the string, and the potassium chlorate in the ignition mix. Though the striker and ignition compositions are not mixed (during storage) they are in close proximity. Increased acidity means increased sensitivity. [someone fact check this paragraph]
As for other reactive chemicals, Red phosphorus and potassium chlorate are extremely reactive, as are sulfur and potassium chlorate their toxic relationship is what makes these igniters work.
Storage, academically, shouldn’t be long-term. However, empirically, I’ve stored for 1+years
@@InventionIncarnate LOL,,, No, I wasnt quizzing you, I honestly wanted to know, Its hard to find good hobby information. Most people hold onto it like stink on $---. What glue do you use to glue the striker/ignition compound?
Clear PVA, aka clear Elmer’s school glue, if it doesn’t work than allow to dry more thoroughly. If I’m in a hurry, I’ll use 12%nitrocellulose lacquer, but that results in spicier igniters
