You need to check ingredients. Anything with natural flavors, citric acid, yeast extract, are secret names for MSG, which is a neuron toxic. It’s a preservative so they use it in products. No one wants to eat a messsge and this is why they caught it with different names.

The condor pack, or actually the identical WFS version, has double stitching everywhere, a removable nylon back panel with a dedicated sleeve that could actually fit a ceramic plate in it. Adjustable sternum strap, attached Velcro ties for left over strap ends, three very strong load handles, and even though they are not YKK sippers, they are excellent HD plastic zippers. Zipper pulls at beginning of zippers. I’ve been using every brand of pack for over forty😢 years, and recently Maxpedition makes great gear but are twice as expensive, 511.rush gear is well design and constructed, but at a premium price point. More adjustment straps😊 and buckles that any competition. 1000 D material and more. At $79.00 from Big-5 on 26 Dec. 2022” this pack has features that the maxpedition and 5.11 should have included for their respective prices. Voodoo tactical bags use quality materials but all mine have had zippers fail stitching unravel and no one has returned my calls about the supposed life-time warrantee. I’ll let you know how the double stitching holds up over time.

Nice review. I chose the Biolite Campstove because of that one special feature that makes the cost worth every penny, that being, the ability to charge a cell phone should there be no other source of power to do so in an emergency. I am not a fan of camping stoves that require gas canisters in order to cook a meal. When you run out of fuel, you're (SOOL) Shi? Out.Of Luck. Thanks again for the review. Job well done.

Mountain house comes from the Vietnam War which a company called Oregon Freeze Dried made freeze dried rations for the US Military. They still do in the long range patrol ration and winter or cold weather MRE's. I have tried just about every brand. Nothing beats Mountain House. For deserts go with backpackers pantry although Mountain House has a few kick ass deserts as well. I'm all about weight to taste. Mountain House fits the bill. If you watch ebay you can get 6 meals for around 6 to 7 bucks a meal.

Not sure that’s a USGI shovel you have there. Many of the Amazon reviewers stated it was a clone from the link you provided. I don’t know how many manufacturers made the entrenching tool for the US Military, but it is my understanding the ones manufactured by Ames are of superior quality. The side of the handle should say Ames, US and a 2 digit year. 👍

Most people don't know how to operate a TLUD ( top-lit up draft ) stove such as Ohuhu or Solo stove. thicker wood / fuel have to put at its bottom and thiner / leaves on top and then lit it on top. all wood should never be higher than those small holes. if operate it properly , its virtually smokeless and very efficient.

What a shame they didn't use the Ohuhu properly. First, it only has four parts, the grill and tray are optional. Plus, like many of these reviews, they just used it like a bucket to throw wood into. That's why it smoked. Load it properly, light it from the top and let it burn down and it will stop smoking after a few minutes and burn for 20 to 30 minutes.

Also if you want a shorter lasting or softer flame you can put a can inside with some wood and make charcoal. 2in1. After you're done with the simmer you can just flip the pot rest as if using an alcohol stove and use the charcoal to grill something
