It's even more people than these 6000+: some of us got burned by pledging late through their website. Like, well after they knew this was a sinking ship.
They also failed to deliver the Relic Knights Kickstarter; which also raised a considerable amount. The team say that one of the managers wated the money (ran off with it?) and that they're using the current sales to try and raise funds to deliver the missing pledges (I have no idea how true this is). I received some minis a few years ago, but the UK site/account is no longer accessible, so I assume they've shuttered it.
This was my first kickstarter. $240… it was not a pleasant pill to swallow. I didn’t go back to kickstarter until 2021. With the exception of Mythic Games, I’ve had nothing but good experiences. Did you see a couple of weeks back, someone had a license to SDE, and tried to get a kickstarter going. It did not go well.
exactly I lost 300 euros on this (on the second KS of dungeon explorer), they did not deliver, kept the money and and I kept seeing them starting new kickstarters and getting more money - I suppose at that point they knew they wouldn't be able to deliver they just stole from backers intentionally... nobody stopped them and how this can be legal is beyond me
Jeez, its KS/Crowdfunding things like this that make me wary of even trying to back a game from a company that's not from CMON or Awaken Realms or Chip theory.
I still have all the games. Sadly that number doesn't include the people that purchased the late pledge from the website. Had so much potential and I hate them.
Bought this game new/used. Got discouraged when I opened it and found out I had to glue miniatures together and now it just sits on my shelf the past 2 years. I prefer to be able to just open and start playing since I don't have patience to glue and paint minatures. I respect those who do, but I'm not that guy.
It's a real shame because I love the game. It's a lot of fun. I love the co-op game too. Sounds like the moral of the story is bad management and a massive Kickstarter failure, definitely one of the higher profile ones. It sucks so bad because I know some people left behind tried to MacGyver this thing together and push things out but too little too late. I have everything that made it to retail but discovered it long after the Kickstarter. Their minis are no longer mass produced, they are resin printed and made to order. I have ordered stuff recently so you will get minis if you buy them at least as of last year. I am very choosey about Kickstarter so far I have had good luck but I am always cautious. While this was a high profile failure, it was by no means the only one. The first thing I look for is a production copy, is there a copy they paid to produce to send out for review? If yes, that passes the first test. Looking at previous campaigns, how well do they communicate? Are they honest about deadlines? I will look at social media and community presence, what other games did they make? We have a small community and news travels fast. I do my diligence when looking at a Kickstarter. I had one campaign for Endure the Stars, it did ship but was over two years late, communication sporadic and they claimed they were further in development than they were, evidenced by the update of the rule book being finalized like 18 months into it. They had a new campaign for a game called The Everrain that looked so good but no production copy, no components produced and based on all these interactions, too many red flags. That campaign barely shipped before the company went under, another company bought up their IPs but some backers for the Everrain I did hear got burned, last I heard many backers were left without pledges. You need to really not get caught in the hype and take that step back and due you diligence and research before you back.
SDL bit off way more than they could chew. It's a shame because I love the games, and backed their other successful KS, even though Ninja All-Stars wasn't quite what I expected of it. I have high hopes for the WOSDEC relaunch.

Insane

I’m so sorry my brother

I agree
The company doing Final Girl delivers and does a great job as well. But yes… always have to err on the side of caution now.
Thank you for this deep dive and warning.
Your welcome
It was my first kickstarter.. $400 down the drain. I wish they would do right by us that backed. Thanks for coming the matter
Your welcome

I can’t blame you
I played this game at a friends and loved it - So jumped on the Legends campaign and got STUNG. I loved the mins they made. Sad face. 8-(
It’s very sad cause it’s a fun game

Not many parts to glue but I understand
Bet you could sell it and recoup some of the cost.
