I've played the game twice now, both times it was Arcade mode, but I'm looking forward to playing it Classic mode. I suggest using a variant from the bgg forum: If you roll 5 more stars than the defender, you gain Massive Damage for that attack. If you roll 5 more stars than the attacker, you gain Backlash.

I loved the theme on this one. Definitely hit the nostalgia factor with a 90s JRPG feel to it so I've been wanting this one for awhile. Caught it at a local store at a good price and I could not pass it up. I have not played it yet but Miniature Market had some expansions on sale so I definitely indulged a bit. Can't wait to get it to the table.
You had said that this was not your favorite dungeon crawl game, while also mentioning that this was definitely a solid one. I am curious which dungeon crawler(s) would you recommend or which do you feel is definitely a 10/10 dungeon crawler?
+Alex Mershon My favorite dungeon crawler, hands down, is Level 7: Omega Protocol I think it's just got the perfect combination of cool mechanics and solid theme. I also like Imperial Assault quite a bit, though I find I play the skirmish mode more than the campaigns these days.
I actually didn't know that piranhas lived in the ocean, and I would really like to know what electric eels and sharks and the above piranhas want me to eat; that seems nicer than they are usually portrayed as being. Thanks for the review, the game looks like fun. I like how you seem to be on the side of the console during the review. Who's side are you on anyways?

Excellent review. I just got the game myself. It's a lot of fun but the rules truly are complicated.
Indeed. By far not the most complicated rules, but not as easy to jump into that it should be.
