This is an awesome video to see what is possible with that HQ Megacade machine. You really did it up. That is so incredible. I am now thinking about buying one.
Wow, this is a perfect, well organized, and very informative video. I'm currently researching arcade machines, and it's been tough finding good quality detailed overview videos. Definitely favoriting this one!
Damn dude. I'm impressed with the display of the megacade that you showed off in this video and I must say that I'm damn impressed to the point that I have to buy one of these god-tier custom arcade cabinets. I went through the entire video and it definitely has literally everything known to man on the megacade. It's like an arcade museum in your own home fully complete with an entire gaming history of games and goodies to boot. Major thanks for doing an awesome review on this product as I'm sold in purchasing one of these for myself. Looking forward to any future videos that you upload for anything that's gaming goodness.
Glad you enjoyed the video. It's like a gamers dream. There are a lot of games on here that I never knew existed. I'm uploading new vids all the time. Thanks for watching.
Realistacly you could set up a computer to do all of this, but the amount of time and effort is exhausting. Having all the controls work right off the bat with the gamepad fully fuctional is so worth it. Awesome video!
Yeah, I'd rather skip all of the time to get this running on a computer and just pay someone to build my cab and customize it and I just plug'n play. 😁 Thanks for watching.
I use "Attract Mode" front-end on PC for arcade games via MAME, and it's really not too bad, but it does take a bit of time and patience to set up. It also supports other platforms/games, but the support/setup is kind of wonky so I just use it for MAME. If I won the lottery/otherwise had a sudden windfall though I would definitely consider getting something like this.
I mean, it is just a PC in a giant case. They could just sell the hard drive with their software pre-configured and you could buy a pre-fab cabinet or build one yourself. You could even get someone to clone the drive from a machine, and save about $3000.
@@jakel7213 This is not for people capable of building a cab themselves/configuring a PC - also, if they start selling a hard-drive full of copyrighted ROMs within the US that would obviously put them in an undesirable legal position.
The UI is amazing on this thing. It's amazing how much work went into just the software getting this running. I would want a HDMI out on the side to run it to a projector for some sit down gaming or movie watching. Or mount a projector right to the top of it even.
Yeah we really like the UI as well. Having an HDMI out on the side would be cool to run a projector. We've watched a movies on it as well. Only thing is all of the lights from the control panel. Other than that, plays great.
At first, I was like OH DAMN! Then, you opened the panel, and I was like..... Maybe I can make that myself. But from the visual experience, and the build of it. I feel like it's worth more than a DIY route for sure! One day!!! :D
Yeah I mean the TV and gaming PC would of course be cheaper, but the custom lighting, controls, and art along with the guns and the whole experience and shipping is where the cost goes im sure. Labor etc. I mean my gaming PC can prob emulate stuff even better with similar or lower latency, but its not inside a giant custom arcade cabinet lol
@@jb0nd38372 ive had that issue lately. Mostly because of how much ROM sites limit band with. Even internet archive does. Sucks, cuz PCE and PCE CD games are $$$$$
I've been playing around with the mame arcade lately. I been doing all the work myself setting it up and its daunting...I have roughly 5000 games on mine and couldn't be happier, I can't imagine having all the games you have on that beast machine. Really cool stuff. I love the old school games, esp the mame arcade I used to play as a kid.
@@dthomasfromnc It a work in progress. I don't have an actual arcade cabinet but I hooked up an old pc to my TV and I made a joystick controller out of walnut. Its a beautiful piece ...works for now until I buy a 2 player board and cabinet...(might build a cab, not sure yet) As for games, I have the mame stuff, complete nes, snes, n64, genesis, and master system roms. Also have some random ps1, ps2, gamecube, dreamcast, 3DO, and atari roms on here. There is definitely more I'd like to get but downloading roms is getting more difficult. They've cracked down on it. Can still find them but not as easy as it used to be. Still happy with what I have though and I have way more games than I'll ever play. Lastly, I use the Launchbox. Its my favorite frontend. have you seen any lauchbox setups? very easy to customize. I only need to get the game theme movies and bezels for widescreen tv's.
I want one, lol. I appreciate your love for the old arcade games we played growimg up. I had a nostalgic moment watching this and flashed back to all the great games I spent thousands of quarters on. The amount of games on this is impressive. I bet this thing cost more than a quarter!
Definitely cost more than a quarter. But playing a lot of these retro games do bring back so many memories. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I am so happy I came across your candle in this amazing machine. I really wish I hadn't spent so much money on my new PC and consoles so I could get one of these
This was a good and straight to the point review - you touched all of the bases and explained everything in great detail in a short amount of time. You could be a salesman for this company as your assessment and playing examples made me start looking into getting one of these.
Great video, man. The breakdown from shipment, to unboxing, to overview of the cabinet, and then gameplay. Perfect. The arcade system looks like the absolute bees knees! The design is gorgeous, the layout looks sweet, and gameplay seems fantastic. I'm super jelly that I don't have one lol Also, the designer/seller should be sponsoring you for this great content.
At one of my jobs we sell and repair coin-operated machines, mostly pinball machines and Jukeboxes. However one of our best customers had their Megacade dropped off at our place first just so we could make sure everything was solid first. I went browsing thru the list of games, was totally dumbfounded at how complete it was, and was astounded that it even included relatively current games available only on steam! Then I found out it even had TOUHOU games!!!111. This baby is definitely the gold standard. Man would I love to play Touhou in an arcade cabinet!
Just came across your channel and glad I did! Had no idea this existed and all I can say is that this may be the best home arcade cabinet I have seen so far. WOW. Great review. Cheers.

Oh wow! Congrats on your purchase. I know you're soooo ready to get it. Just be as patient as you can. That's the hardest part. 😁 But you're going to love it once you recieve it. What kinda design did you go with?
DThomasFromNC : I’m still deciding on the design of the machine. David said I have a couple months. I’m thinking about going with an LCD marquee and leaning towards a Terminator 2 theme from the original gun game back in 90’s. I have a nice spot in my movie room and think that would look pretty clean with LED buttons, however still deciding. It’s tough lol I committed my 500.00 deposit just to get my place in line.. Really looking forward to more videos. Great channel 👍👍👍 I need to reach out to him soon with my final design.
@@Rob_G716 deciding what theme to go with is probably one of the hardest things with ordering this machine (other than waiting to get it). The LCD marquee is a nice touch. I thought about going that route as well. But we wanted to personalize our marquee. LED buttons gives the megacade more of a pop and wow factor in my opinion. But it's good you out ya $500 to get your place in line. Glad you like the content on my channel. Definitely will be putting out more vids (even on the Megacade as well). Really appreciate you watching. Good luck on your design. I'm sure it's going to come out amazing whatever you decide to go with.

i’m lookin to buy an arcade retro machine and this looks like the best one on the market . i love that you can add a 4 way joystick and tron joystick to it . i love your video and has me sold .
Man, I bet you were like a kid on Christmas morning when you were unboxing this thing. It is really beautiful. Looking at the guts of it, it is nice to see that they use only quality parts like the Seagate Barracuda hard drive
This thing is sick! I mean I know I could go through all the hassle of putting all the emulators together and getting a huge solid state hard drive but this is well built, very clean, tons I mean tons of games both classic and new modern games also with movies and everything. Great video kinda sucks about the waiting period but I’m definitely going to personalize and order one. Thanks for the great video and showing a lot of what this arcade cabinet can do I’ll definitely use you as a reference and maybe they’ll hook you up for getting another customer lol. Thanks again 🙏.
I feel you on that. But we just really didn't want the Tron joystick nor the spinner. Looking back, the spinner wouldn't hurt having. But the Tron I could definitely do without. Thanks for watching.
@@dthomasfromnc Nevermind. I just saw the prices for those parts on your video. At those prices, the Tron joystick and spinner became no longer mandatory. I like games, but not enough to pay that much. I hope to eventually make 1 or 2 control panels (not a full size cabinet), using parts I have collected over the years. I now have: 3 Xenophobe joysticks 2 Atari Assault joysticks (left and right) 3 anodized colored aluminum knobs for spinners (do not have spinners yet) And a bunch of other misc joysticks and buttons. Also have some commercially made control panels: 1 Hot Rod dual joystick panel 3 other dual joystick panels And a couple single joystick control panels.
His was probably closer to 8k. I just got a pedestal with custom art and that was 5k after shipping. I didn't add light up joysticks or buttons which all run the price up.
I’d say it’s definitely more of a novelty buy, if you want it with the Arcade feel, then by all means go for it. But if you’re playing for the games I’d recommend you just get a PC that can run a good emulator. Definitely a cheaper alternative and can last you longer in the end.
Very cool prebuilt cabinet. Ive been kicking the idea around for years to build my own cabinet. I want to put a PC inside and have it run emulators for all the major new and old systems.
Bro, I know this video came out 4 months ago, but every single time I see Run N Gun 2, it feels like the first time and I get excited for my Megacade all over again.
I wasn’t exactly impressed until I saw they loaded play station and Dreamcast iso’s. It takes a long time to collect all these games. I may have to look into how they did this.
Thank you for showing and talking about shipping, how long it takes to get to your house and what people have to do upon arrival. Others don't do this and it's so important, I subbed 👍

This is an awesome video to see what is possible with that HQ Megacade machine. You really did it up. That is so incredible. I am now thinking about buying one.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Awesome Review Video Derrick! Thanks for taking the time to review your machine, we sure enjoyed building it for you!
Thank you so much! It was only right to do a video on this Megacade. Gotta show the world how awesome it is.
The delivery guy: Dang can I play before I go?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, this is a perfect, well organized, and very informative video. I'm currently researching arcade machines, and it's been tough finding good quality detailed overview videos. Definitely favoriting this one!
Thanks
@@yellowblanka6058 But are they not already selling such a hard drive along with the rest of the setup?
This system is bananas. If I ever won the lottery and got a new house, this is one of the things I would want.
What an incredible home and arcade room. I’m not jealous , not jealous at all🤥
Thank you😂😂😂
I think its fair to say, this has everything, and pretty much every game an oldschool gamer could ever want.
😁exactly
The UI is amazing on this thing. It's amazing how much work went into just the software getting this running. I would want a HDMI out on the side to run it to a projector for some sit down gaming or movie watching. Or mount a projector right to the top of it even.
Yeah we really like the UI as well. Having an HDMI out on the side would be cool to run a projector. We've watched a movies on it as well. Only thing is all of the lights from the control panel. Other than that, plays great.
The UI is HyperSpin: hyperspin-fe.com/
Holy shit! Everything, from the frontend, stick placement, lightning, emulation, looks stunning. Damn you lucky bastard
😂😂😂😂thanks bro
At first, I was like OH DAMN!
Then, you opened the panel, and I was like..... Maybe I can make that myself.
But from the visual experience, and the build of it. I feel like it's worth more than a DIY route for sure!
One day!!! :D
except getting all those games will take ages, not sure how fast internet you have but mame alone for a full collection is 1.4tb
Just need a good pc big rv and then just make you own panel for the controls thats the part you need to make it feel like an arcade
Sucks, cuz PCE and PCE CD games are $$$$$
@@reptilez13 arcade punks are a good source.
I like the placement of the green joystick. It made the whole thing perfect!

Thats cool you got 5k games all yourself. I can only imagine the work put in to get them all working correctly. But MAME is a lot of fun to play.
In my humble opinion that machine is totally worth the 5 grand. That much nostalgic entertainment in one arcade machine! Wow!

😁thank you so much! Glad you like the game room. And this HQ Megacade is amazing. Go ahead and get you one.
That's awesome bro. I definitely have a blast with this machine. It's a lot of fun going thru these retro games.
