    You just saved me from soooo much stress .... I have been trying to figure out why the Rodecaster didn’t seem to be able to record a live zoom interview for my podcast ! lol i tried everything. So I’m imagining a regular live call will work as well I’ll try tomorrow ( well today ) lol and write back

If you have any thoughts it would be beyond appreciated !🙌🎤🎤

    Hi Mike, do you still check comments on this video? I can't make the playback and record function simultaneously. Curious to know what Device Class setting you have. The one I needed to download is called ASIO4ALL (as per instructions on the product web page). This lets me record multitrack the way you are doing here but if I want to play back the material I have to switch to MME and subsequently can't record. So no dubbing... And the bluetooth channel is fudgy: all the sounds are distorted. If you know what the issue might be here I'd be thrilled to hear. Thanks!

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      PC is a different beast when it comes to any audio device. Audition will usually take over your ASIO device when recording so no other software can access it. Mac is a little different in this regard. There may be some things you can't do at the same time with PC. I get round this by having multiple audio interfaces for different purposes such as playback on a live stream.

    • @nevetsrenzuc
      @nevetsrenzuc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MikeRussell Alright, thanks a million for this response. I am glad to hear that this is not a problem with the same hardware (and software) on a Mac, though, as I am switching back and was hoping not to have to get rid of this caster device! (which I would have if it turned out to be impossible to combine playback and recording on a MacBook).

    Once I have selected Multichannel on the device and on Audition, the other options don't show up. They all come through one channel. Can you share what the gain level was within the Rodecaster Pro? I recently purchased a Shure SM7b and a cloud lifter to go with the Rodecaster Pro but on multitrack recording, even with the fader on the 5th notch (unity gain) and the level set to 35db within the Rodecaster Pro, I am barely hitting -24 db in Audition/Audacity/Garageband. Things are marginally better if I switch to stereo instead of multitrack but that defeats the entire purpose of having the Rodecaster Pro. Obviously an option is to bump up the level within the RP to 50db but that introduces waaaaay too much noise. Any help would be much appreciated Mike. And thanks for the other videos - I've learnt a fair bit. Cheers!

    Hi - quick question - I am thinking of investing but not sure I understand the USB aspect - if you connect to a MAC, you do this via the USB out on the back of the RODE. BUT there's still a USB channel accessible in you DAW, as part of the RODECaster output... so how do you access it? Do you need to have a multi-USB device sitting in-line between your RODE and your MAC?

    • @MikeRussell

    Hi Mike. If I select the multitrack option for Micro SD, does the Rodecaster automatically assign inputs to channels once I start recording, when recording to the Micro SD card? When I then input the recorded file into Audition does it see it as a multitrack recording and separate all the channels for editing? The USB connection to a computer and Audition looks great, but if space and time is limited, does the Micro USB option work as described? Thanks Damian

    • @MikeRussell

      Hi, once you've connected the Rodecaster and selected your hardware preferences you can then assign each Rodecaster input in your multi track session and record the ones you want.

      That sounds like a plan for the audio. You may find a screen recorder or maybe even OBS would make a better recorder though. Make sure you record the audio of the video source and perform a clap to ensure you have an easy way to sync up the audio sources in Premiere Pro.

    Hey Mike, thanks for these videos. I'm just wondering about this hardware, and if it's possible yet...
    At present, I do a recorded radio show using a Presonus Studio192 Mobile to get the mic in, and I have 2 midi devices to play and control audio from Abelton Live. I use Novation Launch Control XL to control the volumes of the sounds I play, and the Novation Launchpad MINI Mk2 is what triggers the sounds.
    So, here’s my scenario. For example, I come out of a song, I push play on a music bed and get the levels right on the fly, then I play a snippet of an artist saying something, and mix the audio levels of both the artist and the bed, and when it’s finished, I come back out with just me and the bed and finish the recording.
    Can the Rodecaster split it’s hotkeys banks to specific channels or can you reassign faders to be able to do a similar scenario for what I’m doing? Can I play audio from the computer, and have it routed through a channel on the desk and still allow me to do the above listed scenario? I can see that you can have multiple inputs in audition (as outputs from the roadcasters), but can the rodecaster accept multiple inputs (as outputs from Audition, or Abelton)?
    Anyway, a few questions, but I thought you may know. Cheers,
