Hi! I just wanted to come back to this video because it helped me SO much when I was applying to colleges this year!! I'm a first-gen college student/immigrant and had no one to receive advice from, so this was incredibly insightful. I'll be attending Harvard College this fall thanks to you (also, the free spreadsheet is amazing, I still use it for scholarships haha)!
hello, congrats you got Harvard. I'm Harvard this year . Could you please help me to make a stellar application. If you don't mind, can you please provide feedback to my personal statement? We can talk on email, so may I have you mail adress pls
Thank you so much for this, Emily! :) Could you please show an example of how would a description of an activity that someone recently joined look like? I'm struggling to find a good way to add my plans for the future.
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT, IT’s SUPER HELPFUL. Could you possibly show us your extracurricular activity descriptions to help me as a reference for outlining the outcome and impact of each? Thank you so much 🤩❤️
Hi Emily. That's such a great sharing from u! I'm from Malaysia too btw and planning to apply US unis for Fall 2022 term. I'm struggling with the common application especially the essay part. I hope u can share and make a specific vid for the essay part! Again Thank You so much for a great, great n great sharing from u. Looking forward for more vids from u!
Hi Emily. I am applying college this year. I watched your video and found it helpful. I had lots activity but don’t know how to quantify the achievement and finally make my activities and passion be cohesive. Is there way I can pm you to get some help?
Hey girl! Do college applications and essays make a major point than your extracurriculars and academics? I had a 10 cgp in my 10th grade 9.3 in 11th and I studying in 12th (India) so what should I write in my extra curriculum, I have an experience of 8 yrs of swimming but I never participated in any competition and I also do classical dancing but 2-3 other things but I never took it so seriously and didn't got certified for them, so can I add them in my application? Will the college mem consider my activities?
hello, do you think I should fill out the additional information section or covid-19 additional information section or would that distract from my main points already placed in my common app
I only got into Yale as an visiting student so did not write any of the Yale supplements to apply as a freshman! But for my visiting student application supplements I wrote about my struggles with Math in school, how I went from an F to a C, and why this experience has made me a resilient person. I hope this helps!
Hey there, international student here! i am from a low income background family , looking in stem programs. The thing is the school i am in , we need to pay for everything including all the activities and extracurricular, also i raised my younger sister myself because my parents were both working. Because of these two reasons i don't have extracurricular activities, can you help in providing some ideas to help?
I have different extracurricular activities. How can I make it narrative (interconnected) to the entire application?? I want to pursue my education in computer science and I have extracurricular like programming, soccer, tutoring, volunteer, ambassador of environmental protection club Can you give me ur advice???
I did an exchange programa between 10 and 11grade but didn't validad academically, how should I classified the activites during the exchange year in the date part?( since it wasn't in 10 or 11grade)
Hi do you think it’s better to have all 10 activities listed with some activities that I only did in freshman/sophomore year than 6 solid activities that I either achieved strongly or am continuing? Btw your video is so helpful! Thanks
Joined a Committee of Health Awareness. okay they help promote good habits.helped out Grandmother and won the Science fair.time consumed but manages to triumph.Built 5 libraries at age 19.😧😧???
Hey uh if anyone can give me any advice. I have decent curriculars in Vocal Music, Instrumental Music and Programming. Programming being my passion and what I want to study. I have won a state-level competition in vocal music, have a trinity grade 7 in electronic keyboard, have won a Game Development competition and the rest are just my vocal performances on stages. I don't have any impact and outcome which helps others. I worry that it might limit my content.
Hey Emma! You are so helpful and you smile as if you was raised in sunshine!! I'm also applying Yale as well as many American universities this year, would you mind take a look at my application?
Some activities just don't have awards/accomplishments, and in those cases it's fine to put what you did within the activity. As best as you can try to highlight any small accomplishments/impact that you made within a particular activity (Impacting the lives of 5 people with what you did may seem vey small, but is still impact!) If your question is more about having a lack of activities, I would say the best thing you can do is to write down a list of every.single.thing you spend your time doing outside of school. Oftentimes I find that when people do this they realize they have more activities than they thought they did. But ultimately if you're not able to come up with a full list of 10 activities that's still okay! You shouldn't use up every single activity space just for the sake of filling up something. All the best with everything!

Hi Emily! Love the fact that u stress so much on personality than academics! Would u, by any chance, look over my Common App essay for me? Much love x

Also, for the activities that I’m continuing in the rest of my senior year, I can use present tense for the verbs right?
