- The original vocal variant of "Journey" from Destiny 2 that used to play in orbit.
This version was removed in Curse of Osiris. I've always felt that it sounded a bit more organic than the updated variant.
I recorded this way back during the beta, I believe. Stumbled across it when looking through old files. This is probably the only version of it left out there, aside from a few older uploads on TH-cam that aren't as good in terms of quality.

I would like to pay my respects to Commander Zavala/Lance Reddick. I knew how much I would miss him, its crazy how time flies by and then in just a split second…everything change. May Lance Reddick have a peaceful sleep.
You referred to him as Zavala first and it's not even the character of Zavala that died. Disturbing.
Vocal Variant 2 is ethereal and angelic. Vocal Variant 1 is much more corporeal. It is of the soil and vines and flowers. Where 2 embodies the emotions that connect every hero to the one before and the one after from a perspective of standing high up and seeing the line, 1 is more like honouring ancient tradition by kneeling before one who is of a higher station than you, someone who is honourable and valiant.
The bass voices here are "Oh/Ohm," variant 1 is "hmm/humm" The higher pitched vocals SLAP in this one, but are more toned down and smoothed out in 2

I still hear this song from time to time when I hop on Destiny 2. It still plays in game but it's rare.

I'm so sorry but I have to brag right now I am in this recording singing baritone (because there was no way in hell I was hitting that low note) this was my very first session with a professional ensemble and I was gobsmacked.
I completed destiny 1 with my friends. Years past and destiny 2 was announced and I pre ordered and ready to play. Then I realized all my friends had moved on. I played 2 when it came out and it was great but being alone made things different. I do miss destiny.
Both versions make me feel a certain sentimental way.
1 makes me feel how I felt when I lost my friend and the days after his passing. And 2 makes me feel like I’m there out in a field watching the sky and he’s right beside me waiting to hold me and talk to me again.
Reminds me of a better time, like a lingering image from an old dream....
I love how you used an image of Saint alive here like how you used him resting in his tomb in the other variant.
I'm at the point, where the music of past releases, up to deep stone lullaby, has done more for me than the game has. The friendships are great, I hope the game improves. But the music will always be here for me. For the times before I returned to my faith in a God. To now after I came back, these pieces calm me and help me focus on something transcendent in connection with me.

@B1izzardHawk I was in this ensemble for the recording of this, Destiny 2 and the DLCs and it's actually the same studio that Microsoft used for halo:ce!

Yeah this song is still in the game. When you stay in the orbit for a while it'll always show up. I don't understand why Bungie never officially released this masterpiece.
The second variant is still in the game, yes. This version, however, was removed very early on.

tbh Saint-14 is a much stronger guardian then our character ever will be. He earned respect from the Vex, a robot army that is infinite that can wipe out entire races with ease, but one single Russian Exo kept his own against them with just his fists. One of the best Guardians to ever live.

Lightfall, personally has been the worst DLC in D2. Even worse can Curse of Osiris
Now don't get me wrong, You are right there are some good to come from new D2.
But omg lemme tell you I do kinda wish I was back when D2 vanilla just dropped. Yeah compared to now the double primary sucked but holy hell personally I had alot of fun.

destiny is currently in its worst state it has ever been, idk how u can think current destiny 2 is better than forspoken destiny 2, it’s not even close at all. the game is on the decline and there wont be a destiny 3, but thats for the better. it’s time to put this series to rest

The fact that this or its variant doesn't play in orbit makes destiny even harder to come back to.
It plays, just not as often. Destiny's orbit tracklist has grown over the years, and thus it becomes increasingly rare to hear particular tracks.
Just hang out at the H.E.L.M it always plays.
How come this isn’t on the soundtrack?
Well, for one, this is the old version, so it's not even in-game anymore. That aside, there are a lot of tracks, and sections of tracks, that don't make it into the OST. The recent debacle over folks uploading non-OST tracks sort of solidified that it's just going to be up to the community to pick out and provide the pieces that are left out. So, if you'd like to listen on Spotify, you'll have to download the song from the description and add it manually.

@@sventheterrible7598 The updated variant that came with Curse of Osiris is still in the game, yes. The original - this track - is not in the game files anymore. Believe me, I went looking for it.
Only reason I uploaded this is because I found the old recording I made in the depths of my hard drive. It's the best you're gonna get, unless someone has an audio dump of the game from before Curse of Osiris.
