And there is a part which is positional moves, calculated ones defending ones and tactical ones. U choose a move on these four basis and u have to look at some couple of moves. @@vegetossgss1114 most likely not because AI won't tell you why it's doing the moves it does and you will encounter moves that are completely non sense even for IM/GMs and only visible after going deep into multiple levels of turns. You will learn the most by doing a lot of games and analysing your games. Especially watching at which point you made a mistake, test around what other moves were better and also sometimes test out why the computer analyse saying that "Move XYZ is not accurate/a blunder" by checking what the computer would suggest as "best move" for your opponent, which is basically showing how it could punish you in this moment. If you keep analysing and combine that with puzzles, you will improve a lot.

@@vegetossgss1114 I am inclined to say no but I'm no GM so I might not be right. A lot of times when GMs make crazy plays, they are playing around strategic ideas and concepts based on the board state. GMs study so much they can see and utilize these concepts in real time. However Stockfish does not play by these concepts the same way, they just calculate so far ahead and so deep into probabilities which is why often they make "inhuman" moves, many times these moves make literally 0 sense until another 10 moves into the game. Another way to see this is a GM might have a few central idea how they want to proceed in a game whereas Stockfish doesn't have a single idea, they just pick the best move every time, so just replicating and studying moves that stockfish would make is kind of useless.

Tbh I think when Carlsen declared that his opponent was going to run out of time, that was the primary tip off that he knew the guy was cheating. Afterwards, he made a few slightly tongue in cheek comments about his opponent’s skill. In truth you could make a lot of moves with 9 seconds on the clock and human error really starts to come into play even at the grandmaster level. It was just obvious at that point.

One of the signs of an engine is consistent time between moves and studdering moves when positions are stalled.
Carlson purposefully stalled the positions so the engine would just waste moves and time.

    • @chrisr-dog6824

Hard to say exactly when Carlsen realizes. But you can see Carlsen only tries to win on time, not by making offensive moves on the board. He knows his opponent will waste time checking moves on Stockfish, so all Carlsen has to do is to make fast moves and let his opponent lose on time.
