I worked at this plant for 30 years, retired in 2008, my last 10 years there I was driving them off the assembly line onto the squeal and rattle test track which I always thought of as the best job in the plant.
That sounds hella fun. Crazy to think my hoe is 17 years old already. I’m in the process of finding a place to decode the build sheet in the glove box. All 110 letter, number sets. I sure don’t see many other amber bronze Tahoes.
Awesome video! Since 1978 my family has always owned Suburbans. I'm married with kids, we had a 2000 Suburban LT which I recently sold (I miss dearly) and it still ran like a new truck. Now we own 2007 Suburban LTZ, I cant imagine ever owning any other vehicle. Thank Bruce great video, your facial expression at the end was pure pride!
This video pushed your decision? Have you driven the Toyota SUVs (Sequoia, Highlander, or RAV4). Also, If you look at the Toyota videos, you will see high tech robots / automation and American employees making superior vehicles designed and assembled in the USA with more (or at least as much) North American content than GM Ford or Fiat-Chrysler. I’ve had 6 GM vehicle, former GM Hughes employee, all but one was junk; and the one was marginal at best. However, we are all different and have different experiences - no more cars from the big 3 for my money. Best of luck in your new Suburban, use it in good health and be safe.
This is an excellent video. I was going to buy a Toyota Sequoia within the next few weeks, but after seeing this video I will not buy the Sequoia. My next car purchase will be the Chevrolet Tahoe.
Great video of the large V-8 GM SUV assembly plant in Arlington, Texas. I have a 97 Tahoe LT -356,000 miles on original 5.7 Litre and Four wheel drive transfer case. I recently purchased a 2014 GMC Yukon XL SLT that was stamped as being build in this plant. Thanks Bruce for making this video. I live within 30 miles of a KIA plant in West Point, Ga. I have friends that work there and they drive mostly GM vehicles, even though they are allow a huge discount on buying a KIA most do not even consider it. WTG GM!
I wish I was able to do this with the '98 S10 that I special ordered. But I was able to take a tour of the Shreveport assembly plant about 3 months before I placed my order. They let me roam the holding lot (in 95 degree heat in May) and I came up with the combination that I wanted. Great video!!
Nothing unique about it. I travel to China alot and have a full size Terracota Warrior standing on my front porch. Plus the Marketing person at GM who was with me during the assembly process asked if i was going to name it. It also is easy to track on the internet who is viewing it and other web sites that have linked to it. I now have 17,000 miles on it , Great vehicle. I love it!!
@drvtwin I live in Dallas and had just ordered my 2009 and saw the name of the Plant Manager in the paper so emailed her. I sent 3 differnt emails as I was't sure about exact letters and 2 were rejected and one went through. She was agreeable as I had provided her the order # etc... I was the first person that they have done this for. They do not give tours and I have tried since to get some tours but they said they don't have the resource. I did hear that they were going to start to soon
We in Iraq love the Suburban very much and it is really a great car and a great company and America is the best country for car manufacturing and we like to see these companies at the highest level and develop for the best 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I live in China, and I saw how they assemble Buick Minivans (GL8) ; Well, the chinese don't have the smile on their face that we have! Anyways, Great video! I want a Yukon now !
Enrique Cano I’ve had 6 GM vehicles, including 2 Suburbans, all but 1 were junk, and the 1 “decent vehicle”was marginal at best. If I were ever going to buy an American vehicle again, I would buy a Mexican version, as no UAW means better quality. Better off with a Toyota, Subaru or Nissan. Typically assembled and designed in the USA for the US market with more (or as much) US content than GM, Ford, or Fiat-Chrysler. However with that said, no more “big three” vehicles for me, I have learned my lesson
I Want A 2007-2014 Tahoe Or Escalade & A SUNROOF Is A MUST Have Item If It Doesnt Have A Power Sunroof From The Factory I Dont Want It Sell It To Somebody Else
Can they Make me a Suburban LTZ with a tow package, cashmere interior, 2nd row bucket seats, and I know they don't make them like this but also a center cosole shifter?
Hehe, always nice to see infantil production processes from US. Workers with pizza stains on the shirts. I have to think....hmmm, I order 0 of these plastic cars !!

Yes. I did purchase a '09 Tahoe 4 days ago. Great truck. I got it in a Bermuda Blue color. This video is what made me buy it over the Toyota.

Chris Barsamian bro the original comment was 3 years ago I don’t think it’s new anymore

Keben Lawrence seriously doubt it. The UAW is an abortion
Chris Barsamian nissan is also as junk if not more than the american cars lol
How come the color in the assembly plant was white and on the video it's black??

I HAVE HIS TRUCK/SUV
Nice 👍
Any decision yet on your new SUV?
Built like a tortilla fast and cheap
Wait hold up! U can actually go to the company and ask for a certain car model and year and they'll manufacture it asap as long as u pay for it?
Las fabrican tan rápido como una fábrica de tortillas....
Was your SUV given to you for free (the white one), or you payed to for it and wanted to watch it being assembled?
Chevy gave up on the Indian market...these full size SUVs would’ve saved them in the Indian market...
5:34 Hot chick damn!
Fast forward to today and the warrior has been crushed by now.
🌹❤🐼👍
😲
And Scotty Kilmer says GM doesn’t make good vehicles anymore ? A bunch of hogwash .

toyota is TRASH
GM builds some of the worst vehicles...… Ford and Toyota build the best.
