Beverly Hills Cop 3 does not deserve all the hate it gets. 4 was fantastic!!
Yes it does.
Same 3 doesn’t deserve the hate it gets it is my second favorite after the first one and I still haven’t watched 4
@@Nicholasmcmath-cr1xl you definitely need to it’s great!
@@patinthehat9562 I definitely will watch it soon and I glad you really enjoyed it
What would you rank below it?
Love Beverly Hills Cop 2 almost as much as the original. The dynamic of them all three already being friends is awesome
It's the best imo. Perfect combo of action and comedy.
100% truth!
But the villain is just okay.
First movie is lighting in a bottle 🍿
I think they’ve recaptured it well in sequels
Axel F is such a timeless tune. ☺
Eddie Murphy is one of the best comedians.
Beverly hills cop 3 is underrated
No... no it is not.
I think it was definitely the worst one of the original trilogy, but I didn’t think it was bad at all. In fact, I think the theme park was really cool. They had to of taken inspiration from Universal and Disney. The only thing is that I think we could’ve done without the cartoonish mascots and kids music. Otherwise, it was a fun watch for me.
I agree Beverley Hills cop 3 isn't that bad, if it didn't exist, we wouldn't have that George Lucas Cameo!
I love that people are coming around on 3! I like it and always have. Clearly the worst but it’s still enjoyable.
1. Beverly Hills Cop 2
2. Beverly Hills Cop 1
3. Beverly Hills Cop 3
loved these movies when i watched them but it’s been a few years, im planning on rewatching them all then watching the new one, im glad to hear you say its good
Beverly Hills Cop 2 is always been my favourite. I love it's action, style and comedy.
Fun fact trivia, Beverly Hills Cop 2 is officially the only Beverly hills cop movie where he doesn't get arrested and doesn't get shot and injured and wears an arm cast at the ending of the movie
Thank you for bringing up that stunt double.. It's been bugging me for over 39 years and you're the 1st I've heard talk about it.. 😂
The stunt double who resembles Richard Pryor?
@@santos8468 yeah!! It's the most obvious flaw in a movie except for Pee Wee and the bike chain
I wish I had made a Pryor joke cuz when I was editing I thought “damn he looks like Richard”
I laugh every time I see that stunt double, that's one of the film's few flaws. But at least it's an amusing one.
Love the change in opening theme music !
I like them all. This is a top notch action comedy franchise.
My ranking from my favorite to my least favorite is
1. Beverly Hills Cop (5/5)
2. Beverly Hills Cop II (4/5)
3. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (3.5/5)
4. Beverly Hills Cop III (3/5)
Banger intro dude! 🔥 Great ranking
I didn't care much for his daughter either, but it makes sense. She never called him to come out there, so her not wanting his help is understandable.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that said A lot of people really need to re watch the second one. Axel steals a freaking house! Eddie at his comedy best! 4 cant hold a candle to 2! Just cause 4 is new doesn’t make it better. I dare people to watch 1 and 2 and then watch 4. I wont even talk about 3!
Great video cody, I agree with your ranking 👍
Already with the intro I’m hooked 😂, need to watch the new one great ranking
DeWald is DEFINITELY the best villain I love him a lot
He doesnt do anything except shoot his Lt... and talk a little shit. Thats it. Victor Maitland is a far better villain.
Definitely better than Jack Blacks performance as the main villain in the neverending story 3
They also should do an animated cartoon series of Beverly hills cop
I've thought for years, this channel is CRIMINALLY un-subscribed. Our boy is doin the Lord's work yall. Whether it's Beverly Hills Cop reviews, out of the theater Reviews, Comedy Reviews, and ESPECIALLY his horror reviews and tier lists, ffs, why doesn't the internet give him more love? I'm talkin to all you assholes reading this that haven't subbed yet. I've been a fan of Cody's for years and truly hope he gets more recognition in the future. I watch quite a few "reviewers" on this internet machine on my desk, and of the dozen or so I watch he's easily in my top 3. I'm old n shit, and have no social media "presence" or whatever the kids call it, so this is the only way I have to get the word out. So, I'm calling on all YOU kids, that DO have social media, GET THE FUCKIN WORD OUT!
Love the intro
Great vid Cody! Here’s my list:
4. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. The new one. Didn’t liked it and thought it wasn’t as funny. I wish they stuck with the original idea.
3. Beverly Hills Cop 3. I like this movie more than most. It’s decent.
2. Beverly Hills Cop 2. I like it almost as much as I do the OG, but NOT AS(Dumb And Dumber Too joke, oh my…).
1. Beverly Hills Cop. It’s the best of the franchise. Great and original!
"Didnt liked it" lol... and then you like 3? Buzzzzzzzzzz subjective opinion as it may be. Theres only a few constants in the universe. Beverly Hills Cop 3, like Caddyshack 2... TERRIBLE... AWFUL. TRASH. Eddie Murphy loathes it... everyone involved hated it. Imma go w consensus.
Awesome ranking cody.
I adore this franchise for so many reasons nostalgia of course. But sentimental reasons as well. Ronny cox was my aunt's husband cousin .I saw the first movie with my dad when I was 4 yrs old .
[Dances like Peter Griffin to the intro] 🕺🏾
Great video dude! Keep up the good work. You run my current favourite channel on TH-cam right now. What would your opinion be on possibly doing a Metallica album ranking?
Thanks man. Here is the closest thing I have done:

@@CodyLeachYTI remember asking you to rank Kill em all to the black album
You brought up Kings Island so may I ask where you're from? I live right outside of Indianapolis and have been to King's Island probably about 10 times.
Although I was born in 1998, I love the Beverly Hills Cop movies, Watched The New one today, absolutely loved it, I do kinda wish a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie had came out years ago like maybe in the early 2000's but regardless I Enjoyed it, Eddie Murphy never disappoints, I'd love to see a Beverly Hills Cop/Lethal Weapon/Bad Boys Crossover one day, If we do Mel Gibson and Danny Glover will be like "we're too old for this shit, John Ashton would say "Yeah we are but get fucking used to it we're Cops" 😂, it was great seeing Billy and Taggart again in The Fourth one, I kinda wish we had gotten a spin off with them and I'd love to see a Prequel about how Axel Foley started out as a Detroit Cop, Something that's always bugged me in a funny way about Beverly Hills Cop is this: if Axel Foley likes it so much in BH why doesn't he permanently move there and transfer, my favorite Beverly Hills Cop Villain is Victor Maitland from The Original 1984 Film
My Ranking
4. Beverly Hills Cop 3 (1994)
3. Beverly Hills Cop 4: Axel F (2024)
2. Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987)
1. Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
I haven't had time to check out the new yet, though I want to, but the previous 3 I really do enjoy, even the 3rd one, so yeah, I totally get what you mean. Anyways, enjoyed this ranking. Thank you, Cody.
I was just watching Sean Chandler's ranking video and have already gave my ranking in the comment section over there so ill just repeat it here:
1. Beverly Hills Cop
2. Beverly Hills Cop 4
3. Beverly Hills Cop 3
4. Beverly Hills Cop 2
Reason: Not a huge fan of Tony Scott. I agree the hate for 3 but but i'm saying that as someone who didn't really grow up with this franchise.
4:13 agreed. I watched all of these films for the first time over the last few months with my dad who hadn't seen them since their release, REALLY didn't like the third film but I have to give it this, the second Timothy Carhart showed up in the opening I said 'oh shit, great casting for the villain!'
Like you said the personal vendetta element adds a lot too, but I think it's also helped by Eddie Murphy playing it a bit more serious, you buy more into the hate for the villain that way. I like that with these films we usually see Axel meet the villains early on and they're always smug since he can't just put an end to them right then and there, and the latest one definitely tried the most in terms of attempting some depth with the villain's motives, but Timothy Carhart is just too good at playing slimy characters, whether it's Thelma and Louise or Star Trek , he kills it every time
Dude u r tha numro uno movie reviewer. now. Great job
Cody mentioning my home park Kings Island?? Whoa!
The way his friend got executed while he was unconcious in the beggining of 1 was so cold
Nice intro with the changed up intro.

Hey Cody! Been watching your channel for years. Just recently re watched your dream warriors review. QUESTION- you still playing and rocking out on guitar?
As a fellow metal head and love 80s rock, would love to see you do something along the lines of the best rock/metal songs in 80s horror movies or something along those lines. Would be a hard top 10 tho 😂 cause the 80s had so many great rock/metal songs!
What I like best about 3 is it was filmed at Great America theme park in the San Francisco Bay Area about 20 minutes from where I live.
Been going to the park since it opened in 1976.😁
The daughter in Axel F wasn’t bad. She didn’t really add anything to the movie and was a little stiff but I didn’t mind her scenes with Axel I thought she did well in those. It’s the lack of chemistry with Joseph’s character that was a little awkward if anything. Fun movie.
4. Beverly Hills Cop III
3. Beverly Hills Cop II
2. Beverly Hills Cop Axel F
1. Beverly Hills Cop
I'm right there with you!!!!
Agreed.... but a HUGE distance between 4th and 3rd spots
Sucky list bro your a idiot
Same
1 the worst ? You must be high😂
Thanks for the ranking, Cody 🤗 I also rewatched all three films to get ready for Axel F. (And that film was such a nice surprise) I PERSONALLY don’t like BHC3, but I respect you do 💪 I just wanna list what for me makes that film pretty bad:
1. The movie feels kinda soft, compared to the previous two (heck, even compared to the new one too)
2. I thought the Wonder World setting was kinda meh.
3. Axel Foley doesn’t do much at all, in terms of playing his little con man-sketches to achieve the things he wants, as he does in all previous films (and which he returns to do in Axel F. as well) It’s a major iconic part of his character, and that aspect almost entirely disappears in Cop 3. He didn’t really feel much like Axel in that movie 🤷♂️
4. The back then updated theme was horrible and sounded way too “adventurous”. It sounded like Indiana Jones had invaded the world of Axel F., and it just didn’t jive for me.
5. I personally didn’t like the villain at all. I thought he lacked “edge” - something every other villain in the franchise has, for me 🤷♂️
6. I didn’t like how they obviously wanted to replace Taggart with that other guy, and him acting as if he’d known Axel his whole life, no matter how much he heard about him from the others.
7. I feel the entire movie looks weirdly “fake”. It’s very hard to explain, lol. Even the sets outside of the theme park, the police headquarters and the prison, it looked cheap (and the lame-ass “machine-gun”, that Axel makes a big fuzz of bringing along for the 3’rd act, lol)
8. One of the big set-pieces is Axel saving kids from a ride, that goes haywire. That sequence doesn’t really serve much purpose to the bigger story. All action-beats in the other films actually connects in a bigger way. And why does Axel choose to go up in that ride to begin with, only to WAVE at the criminals he was running from?.. Axel used to be smart 🙄😆
9. The musical DNA of the franchise was completely absent in Cop-3.
10. The movie lacks it’s sharp-edged humor, and edge in general. Overall it’s just pretty poorly written, and basically feels kinda goofey 🤷♂️
And to whomever might read this, just remember - Opinions are like assholes, but that doesn’t mean YOU have to be 🫵💋🤗
I have always loved the second one, more than the first (since watching the new one the first one has moved to third in my list personally), I like the chemistry more with the core trio in the second one I think that’s why I like Rush Hour 2 over the others.
I really need to rewatch the first one, haven't seen the first two sequels.
I’ve only seen the original and loved it. Never got round to the sequels but they all sound worth watching. Will try and do a Sunday binge watch tomorrow
Also Beverly Hills Cop 3 may not be as enjoyable as the first two movies, but at least it's way way more tolerable and watchable than the neverending story 3
I got to experience each Beverly Hills cop film as they came out. I have not seen the 4th film yet. I’d rank the first three from 1 to 3 on the order they came out. The first has by far the best soundtrack. What elevates the 2nd film is the 1st film.
I haven’t seen 4 yet so I can only rank the first 3:
1) BHC1 was by far the best! Axel was the funniest throughout. They also had the best villains with Victor Maitlin (Capricorn) & Zach. It also had the best soundtrack of them all.
2) BHC2 was a decent follow up but I missed some of the secondary characters from 1 like Chief Hubbard, Jenny Summers and Detectives Foster & McCabe. Pretty good progression of the relationships between Axel and Taggart, Rosewood (aka Roseweed) & Bogomil. A decent soundtrack and a great song by Bob Seger: Shakedown - which I read was originally supposed to be sung by Glenn Frey.
3) BHC3: certainly the weakest but I didn’t hate it either. Like the previous movies, I always enjoyed Inspector Todd & his constant dropping of F-Bombs. I didn’t mind Detective Flint but Taggart & Bogomil were certainly missed. I did like Axel’s girlfriend (Janice) - I’m not sure if she’s the mother of his daughter in part 4 or not? The villains were ok but the soundtrack was weakest of the 3.
I like Beverly hills Cop 3 as well. I'm sorry that multipurpose gun was hilarious. LOL
I don’t remember if I’ve ever even watched 2 or 3 before. I had a similar situation with Bad Boys 2. I had never watched that one until about a month ago.
I watched the first one frequently as a kid. One of my favorites.
This might be the first time I’ve absolutely nailed your placement of every single entry on this list before watching the video. Granted it’s not that hard with only 4 films but yea 3 is the popular whipping boy of the franchise there was no way you weren’t gonna put it at the bottom and there was no way you were gonna put the new one above 1 and 2. I do appreciate you showed some love to 3 though because I have always loved that movie. I do wanna point out too it’s pretty funny Kevin Bacon has two films coming out two days apart from each other in Axel F and Maxxxine lol
Does Eddie Murphy do that Axel Foley laugh, in this new movie? I think he promised not to laugh like that again.
I always enjoy part 3 too, but it .ay the weakest yet i still love it anyways here's my ranking
1. Beverly Hills Cop II
2. Beverly Hills Cop
3. Beverly Hills Cop Axel F
4. Beverly Hills Cop III
"Ellis Dewald, Ellis Dewald!" Yeah, I like 3 alright too. It would be in last place for me also but I enjoy all 4 movies. The first one is SO classic. Eddie Murphy when he ruled the world. Comedy gold.
I would agree with your ranking and I wouldn't be surprised if most did.
I agree 100% and love the 3rd as it’s Axel and I’ll Always love these movies! The new Movie had me Smiling inside and out! Not have the Trio and making Billy silly was dumb but LOVE these movies
Ready to do Desicable me
Just watched all of these for the first time.
4. Beverly Hills Cop III (4/5)
3. Beverly Hills Cop (4/5)
2. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (5/5)
1. Beverly Hills Cop II (5/5)
4. BHC 3 isn't Die Hard 5 bad but it's still a dud.
3. BHC Axel Foley is very safe and average but worth a watch
2. BHC is a classic
1. BHC 2 is a great balance of comedy and action. Tony Scott as the director was on fire in the 80s and 90s. Yeah, I do like him better than his brother.
I Also Love Part 3
So is there going to be a BHC/Happy Gilmore crossover?
3's my favorite in the category of mood and aesthetic, maybe even rewatchability?
To me:
1. Beverly Hills Cop
2. Beverly Hills Cop IV (Axel F)
3. Beverly Hills Cop III
4. Beverly Hills Cop II
2 had great music production but to me it was a lil too goofy and compared to 1, 3 and 4. 2 had the weakest reason to desert his duties in Detroit and risk getting terminated by a rigid, no nonsense Inspector Todd. just to visit Beverly Hills again to check on Bogamil to who he hardly knew in comparisons to his childhood Friend Mikey Tandino from the first installment, to avenge his father figure Inspector Todd in Part III and of course his Daughter in Part 4.
I just depending upon my mood it may switch up to 1,3,4, and 2.
Your big issue with Axel's daughter is why I may periodically put three over four somewhat.
Dont get me started with the soundtrack
The 1st one was great. IMO they should have left it there. The rest were too over the top acting by Murphy. Kinda like 48 hours, which is my all time favorite Murphy movie. But the sequel, his acting was too over the top. And that killed it for me.
Never been keen on BHC 3, used to think it was just okay but now it just bores me to tears haha, the new one was better than 3 but not as good as 1 or 2 in my opinion
Beverly Hills Cop 2 is easily the best one. ❤
Yup! Best combo of action and comedy in the series. Plus it's more polished than the original without losing it's rawness.
Mine
Beverly Hills Cop 2(I know just love it)
Beverly Hills Cop
Beverly Hills Axel F
Beverly Hills Cop 3
1. 1
2. 2
3. 3
4. 4
Well we are getting a 5th BHC movie so I’m interested to see where it’s going.
1,2,4,3 .
I rate the 2nd film slightly higher than the original due to the stellar chemistry between Foley, Rosewood, and Taggart already in play at the start. The 3rd film was fun, but not as good as its predecessors. I haven't see the 4th one yet.
I thnk Zazzi Beets would have been better as Axels daughter, should could have bought some of her Deadpool snark (in a good way) to the film and I don't think Axel would have let his relationship with her get estranged.
If people think Beverly Hills Cop 3 was terrible, the neverending story 3 is far worse than cop 3
1. Beverly Hills Cop (9.5/10)
2. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (8/10)
3. Beverly Hills Cop 2 (5.5/10)
4. Beverly Hills Cop 3 (2.5/10)
Timothy carhart in nr 3 is very underrated
I don't think Axel Foley even does his trademark laugh from the old movies.
1. Beverly Hills Cop 2
2. Beverly Hills Cop
4. Beverly Hills Cop Axel F
5. Beverly Hills Cop 3
Beverly Hills Cop 2 and Predator 2 are two of the most I have no clue why they get so much hate movie sequels ever made.
I'll give you a massive negative on the 4th movie...
Here in Australia not sure about other country's but how aren't we allowed to enjoy this movie in the cinemas ?
Wether the movie is good or not...
Who doesn't want to sit in a Cinema hearing thst iconic music ?
Ellis DeWald ladies and gentlemen.
And 2 was always and will always be the best as I have seen it over 50 times lol
Bev Hills Cop 1 so 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I also always enjoyed the third one. Definitely not a bad movies
3 is actually my favorite one. I don’t get the hate🤷🏻♀️ 1 is second and 2 is 3rd. I haven’t seen the new one yet
4. BHC Axel Foley is so vanilla and safe. Not awful but very meh.
3. BHC 3, I agree that it's not as bad as many people make it out to be and the villain is actually really good.
2. BHC is iconic and a classic.
1. BHC 2 has the perfect balance.
I don't hate Beverly Hills Cop III as much as everyone like Cody. It's still the weakest of the four movies, but I agree with the rankings for @Cody Leach.
Beverly hill cop 2
Beverly hill cop
Beverly hill cop 4
Beverly hill cop 3
I would rank them in order. My faults with the new one are: not as strong of a villain, both in terms of the type of villain, but also the motivations because we have seen it many times before. Also, it didn’t have the same charm in my opinion as the other three.
2,1,4,3
Cody what do you prefer: the bad boys movies OR the Beverly Hills cop movies. Also what is better BAD BOYS 4 or BEVERLY HILLS COP 4
If I had to pick I’d probably go Bad Boys but when I’m in the mood for Eddie, there are no substitutes.
Bad Boys had one good movie and that is it. BHC is far better.
@@Mickey-1994 what is the one good bad boys movie ??. I haven’t found a bad movie in either franchise yet
Best to worst
1,4,2, and 3
Can’t beat the original.
Its a classic
1. Beverly Hills cop
2. Beverly Hills cop 2
3. Beverly Hills cop 4
4. Beverly Hills cop 3
I don’t know what everyone’s deal was with part 3. Yes it’s the worst but like child’s play 3 I feel it gets way too much hate.
B. Hills Cop
1/2/4/3
Beverly cop 3 is best sequel ever made lol
1
4
2
3
1,4,2,3. My order. (Get the f outta here!!!!) Me- No I cannot. I'M SERIOUS!!! Fun fact, as a kid watching BHC3 I always thought 3 was filmed at six flags great America here in my hometown!!!!
I think Quinta Brunson could have played a good daughter for Axel
BHC 2 main theme was unreal , it’s a escape from New York rip off , but it’s very good
I couldn't even finish 3 before I threw it in the garbage. Honestly the only thing I really remember is how terrible the chiefs death scene was at the beginning. It was so hamfisted that it was almost a parody of a death scene you'd expect to find in a Wayans bros. movie. The scene just soured the rest of the movie for me. I usually watch the first 2 and then go watch the 48 Hours movies if I want more Eddie Murphy in a buddy movie. I am interested in checking out this new movie though.
